Biggin to put Lydd on it.

A few views of my flight from Biggin Hill down to the White Cliffs of Dover.

1.vl1.jpg

Climbing out of Biggin Hill, plenty of change here since I used to make the annual pilgrimage to the Air Fair in the 70s.

2.vl2.jpg

Passing Tonbridge.

3.vl3.jpg

Picking up the A20 and M20 at Ashford, which will guide us to Dover.

4.vl4.jpg

Approaching Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel Terminal

5.vl5.jpg

The Cruise Terminal at Dover.

6.vl6.jpg

The famous white cliffs, always a welcome sight after a rough ferry crossing from The Continent.

7.vl7.jpg

The Tunnel Terminal again with the entrance just behind the port wing.

8.vl8.jpg

Now at Hythe.

9.vl9.jpg

Descending into Lydd at Littlestone.

10.vl10.jpg

Forgotten something?

11.vl11.jpg

Ah yes. The undercarriage, just remembered at the last minute!

A safe touch down at Lydd Airport.

Hope you enjoyed the flight through the Garden of England.

Beautiful set Martyn!  Was there for three years yet never had the chance to see those beautiful cliffs.

They are a great sight Jack.

Did I read somewhere that they were painting the WhiteCliffs - becoming too weathered and scruffy?

You did OD, there is an article in the Daily Express.

Did you realise there is  England's only Spaghetti farm just above the cliffs modelled on this one in Ticino? Apparently they were worried that the wind would blow the paint onto their crop so they were only able to paint the cliffs on certain days.

Many thanks for  commenting folks and I am glad you enjoyed the post.
