Islands in the Sun...

... err, it´s more overcast currently in Tasmania. My next tour took me from Smithton to the small Islands off the northwestern tip of the heart...

A view to Ocean Beach...

... and a little detour to Queenstown. The photoreal is still in the disastrous "moon state" left after years of ruthless mining in Mount Lyell, but there is a chance the region may recover over time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queenstown,_Tasmania .

At least King River is not longer directly taking the effluent from the mines nowadays, so the salt deposits may go down.

I went down also, over Strahan...

Looks like such a picturesque and soothing flight.  A little bit hazy, but still a good day to fly.

Indeed it was. Always much better to see all this in motion.

Very nice trip Gerold, and I also like the shot sent by Ken. A really wild region!

You are right with "wild". Not many human settlements or buildings to see up there, who would be surprised if the Tassie Tiger was still alive?

Excellent flight Gerold.

The scenery in this part of the world is outstanding, your shots have captured it really well.

Thanks Martyn, and even when using a virtual plane it takes some time to get out & around there.

another great tour

heres a photo of the west coast, pretty windy and rugged

Wow, the weather looks not that different from my sim. Though - from your photo I can really smell the sea. Something we will miss in simulations for some more years.

Lovely set of shots, Gerold. I'm spending too much time organising my sim at the moment - these really make me want to fly!

You have the simmers sickness, tweaking and installing are the symptoms. Cure them and follow the teasers, teasers, teasers...
