Checking up on the Met Office

Thought I'd go see how bad the weather was over the Essex area the other evening. Met office had been terrorising everyone with dire storm warnings etc. Took a new toy (Hawker Sea Fury, from Flying Stations) for the ride.

Set off from Exeter late afternoon/early evening. Real time, real weather, completely fake pilot.

A bit mucky down my way, but not too bad.

Way along the south coast now, heading up to the pointy bit of Kent

Did hit some really dark and foul stuff. Actually, too mucky to get any pictures from. Even I with my low realism settings had to concentrate on getting through it! So the next ones are out of the other side of the worst of it

Felixstowe docks below us

Heading inland to put down at Mildenhall. Assuming they'll let the Navy land there.

A bit of a skittish ride, but a fine looking 'plane, and I also found some nice repaints for it at the same time.

Excellent set Andy and what a beautiful plane.

Magnificent shot fifth from the end.

I reckon you would be welcome at any airport in that plane.

Gladly pn RL the tide was not as high as they thought.

Got a few quid to spare?

You can listen first but IMHO  this sound is just a tiny whisker short of the Merlin.

BTW how is your Sea Fury on performance. Mine is a bit naughty on the fps side of things!

Nice tour around the winterly south coast - quite a distance!

Great description for most of us. But at least the fake pilot makes fantastic screenshots & pleasure!

Thanks everybody. I really rather like this 'plane, and I might go back and get their Westland Wyvern as well. In case there's any of you who don't know this site they are Flying Stations and they seem to be specialists in Naval related stuff for FSX. Seem to go in ok in P3D via the usual method for me.

Thanks for that, Martyn. To be honest, I mostly fly without sound as most of the time lately it's just to check out some new scenery or 'plane and I'm not really in the frame of mind to settle in to it, so I don't put the cans on. But I had a quick listen to this and realised I miss out on a whole bunch of stuff that way and this certainly sounded good. I may well get this and I will certainly go back and check the site out in more detail. As an aside, another reason I don't use the cans much is that it makes me feel too detached from my real surroundings, and I suspect that may be what stops me ever moving into the whole VR thing. But hey, who knows?

No cans for me, just home alone during the day so the speakers can be turned up a bit.:o

Already stuffed my hearing up in my misspent youth listening to music far too loud with the headphones on. Now they don't care, stereo full volume deafening themselves, their kids, neighbours and anything else within 100 yards. But dare a noisy truck drive by or an aircraft fly over then.........
