Jack Sawyer
Awesome Julio! And I have worked that very L-1011 in real life many times before we sent them to the desert.
VH-KDK
Beautiful shots and a great brace of planes too. 41 minutes ago, Jack Sawyer said: Awesome Julio! One was the programme I watched about Delta 191 yesterday and here is a shot of a Delta 1011. Beautiful plane but I never had the chance to fly on one. Beautiful plane but I never had the chance to fly on one. I have a book about that sad crash. I used to tell all the guys that all the EO's (Engineering Orders) like TCAS (Ceritos), windshear, (191), Ground Prox (Eastern Everglades), and others were written in blood. But they have saved a lot of lives. I have a book on that crash called Blood and Rain and it was horrific. Very sad. But I used to overhaul these beasts and flew many a test hop in the jump seat. We used to do some cool stuff. And talk about built, man up near the S duct the aluminum is literally a foot thick. Lockheed really overbuilt them and they flew great. It was a smooth flying plane. Man I could tell some stories...
