The Industrial Heartland, Ruhr part 3

VH-KDK

Recommended Posts

The final part of my Ruhr flight takes us to the Industrial Heart of Germany.

1.rv1.jpg

Leaving Hagen Hof Wahl in some promising weather.

2.rv2.jpg

Picking up the Ruhr again at Volmarstein.

3.rv3.jpg

Approaching Hessingen.

4.rv4.jpg

The treatment works at Hinsel.

5.rv5.jpg

Baldeneysee is the name given to the lake formed by a weir just down the river.

6.rv6.jpg

The large building is a conference centre called Essen Messe.

7.rv7.jpg

Every time I fly here I get buzzed by a plane coming or leaving Dusseldorf Airport.

8.rv8.jpg
Bruckenstimmung carries the A52 over the Ruhr. Essen Mulheim Airport with it's zeppelin hangar can be seen.

9.rv9.jpg

The docks at Ruhrort and the Thyssen Krupp Steelworks stand out in this view.

10.rv10.jpg

A serious junction as Duissern

11.rv11.jpg

At Duisberg with the Rhine in sight.

12.rv12.jpg

The Ruhr flows into the Rhine at Homberg.

That is the end of this flight and I hope you enjoyed looking.

Great tour with nice summer shots, and now you come to terrain I know better.

Love the shot with the aircraft crossing above your head! What a mess of roads Germany has! Fantastic shots mate!

Perhaps following the roads is no safe navigation in the Ruhr area...

I seem to attract them. Heaps of good looking roads there.

Cheers Gerold, I think I would get very dizzy in an IFR flight.

They really showcase GEN!  I especially like the foggy mist in most of the shots.  Makes them look so real!

Thank you Jack.
