Do a lot of reading on the BBC News site of late and read last night about the sudden decline in tourism in Turkey.

This inspired me to have a flight there.

Not knowing much about the country I looked on Google Earth and picked out the Mediterranean coast.

Was I pleasantly surprised.

1.td1.jpg
Actually started on the Greek island of Kastellorizo LGKJ which is just 2 miles off the Turkish coast.

2.td2.jpg

3.td3.jpg

After heading north west for a while we turn back over the ancient city of Patara.

4.td4.jpg

The town of Kinik can just be seen throught the clouds.

5.td5.jpg

The flight is far from over while we are over Ova and now starting to marvel yet again just how good OLC EU coupled with Pilots Mesh is.

6.td6.jpg

In the region of Yesilyurt, love these place names! The tallest peak in the area Kizlar Sivrisi is visible.

7.td7.jpg

Approaching the Gulf of Anatalya in the Bakrlkoy region with the Taurus Mountains in the distance.

8.td8.jpg

9.td9.jpg

After crossing the Gulf of Antalya landfall is reached at the town of Alanya.

10.td10.jpg
Looking down the coast towards Kargicak, a very tourist orientated part of the world.

Just noticed a big box of Turkish Delight in the cupboard, something very tasty to much on while flying!

Hope you enjoyed the flight, this is an area well worth exploring with it's spectacular mountains.

These pictures are a greater turkish delight than http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/season=2016/matches/round=2000448/match=2017891/index.html , especially the water looks great!

Thank you Gerold. Turkey sure did get a beating.

Whilst Turkish Delight isn't my favourite treat ,you certainly made

up for it in these wonderful shots KDK. I wonder if there's  a

country called Snickers?

cheers

Gumby

Cheers Gumby, there is indeed a country called "Snickers" but I think it has been barred:rolleyes:

Been there in the 80's.  Beautiful country.  You captured it perfectly from the air.  Nice set!

Thanks Jack, a friend of mine went on a farming info trip in the 90s and said how great a place it is. He was impressed by the friendliness of the people he met especially in the country.
