  1. I am getting very odd tree/vegetation colour and density using TrueEarth Great Britain South and Orbx airport EGTB - Booker. The tree colour is reproducing as a pale lime green colour and not the mid-dark green colour I get if I use Orbx airport EGKA - Shoreham. I have attached screen shots to show the difference. The palegreen trees look very artificial and are not very convincing. Also, they do not darken with distance - partly due to shadows cast only being represented on trees within about a 2 mile radius. What is odd is that if I start at Shoreham (EGTK)these odd effects do not occur. I have yet to'fly' from Booker to Shoreham tosee if the scenery changes en-route. Is this something to do with my sceneries insertion points or am I missing something else?
  2. G'day All, Whilst John has been mercilessly teasing you all with early alpha shots, the team are very proud to officially present the first of our next generation of region products; TrueEarth Netherlands! This is a game-changing product for the team; for the first time we are combining the full suite of features from our FTX Region sceneries, with a completely photoreal terrain base, a feature previously limited to our airports. It is important to understand that Netherlands TrueEarth is far more than a traditional photoreal product; comprehensive (and complete) building and vegetation placements, thousands of hand-placed landmarks and POI, complete seasonal and night variations, integrated GIS components and hand-edited textures only scratch the surface of the complete feature list. Ground-breaking technology has gone into bringing you the most detailed and accurate terrain product ever seen in a flight sim to date; we are very excited at what this product represents. ORBX TrueEarth TrueEarth is the name that we will be giving to our new line of photoreal region products. An ORBX TrueEarth scenery will combine the best features found in existing Region products, with the added benefit of full photoreal terrain. Many of the components found in TrueEarth packages are a natural evolution from our existing lines; for example we are leveraging CityScene technology found in CityScene Gold Coast, expert GIS technology found in our latest Regions, advanced night lighting from ORBX Global Base and openLC, propitiatory autogen techniques previously seen at Innsbruck, Berlin (GEN) and Munich (GES), and many more. TrueEarth regions will also sit alongside landclass-based regions; both types of Regions will be continued to be developed into the future. As John has already mentioned in other discussions, several other TrueEarth titles are currently in production for locations in Europe and the United States. TrueEarth pricing will mirror our existing regions; Netherland will be released for AUD$54.95 (~USD$42 / £30 / €34 ) TrueEarth Netherlands As our first TrueEarth photoreal region, Eugene and the team have pulled out all the stops to bring the best product possible. Rather than describe all the details (there are just too many!), please find a partial feature list below: The entirety of Netherlands depicted in complete detail! 85,000km2 of photoreal terrain at 1m resolution (nb the same resolution as traditional landclass textures) Complete seasonal variation: 5 hand-coloured seasons! Full 3D night lighting and night ground textures 43 updated airports, including 18 not found in the default scenery. CityScene building technology for all major cities, towns, villages and urban areas. CityScene tech improves on traditional autogen by adding unusual footprints, higher detail (roof details etc) and better long-range visibility Incredibly dense autogen vegetation. Far superior to automated OSM technology, our agn is compiled from multiple data sets, and hand-edited to ensure maximum fidelity, accuracy and density. Beautifully edited terrain textures - colourised, edited, cleaned up. Blemishes such as cloud cover, water sun glare, seamlines, discolouration and some vehicle footprints have been removed. Colour palettes have been edited to match ORBX Global texture sets. Custom-painted rural variations, including tulip fields during spring Ultra HD mesh at 5m resolution. Netherlands may be flat, but incredible details such as tailings dumps, sand dunes and even highway overpass ramps are visible Accurate road, waterway, bridges, transmission line and other vector/GIS components. Road AI traffic also included to regular Region standards Beautiful custom building textures for all autogen buildings Hundreds of custom landmarks and POI Traditional Dutch windmills Major churches and cathederals custom modelled Custom models for all major TV and radio masts Many major bridges custom designed Custom ship models unique to Netherlands Thousands of hand-placed wind turbines, refineries, harbours and other library objects Hand-edited and colourised water textures, including complete watermasking Fully compatible with neighboring regions (GES, GEN), ORBX Global and OpenLC Europe Netherlands will launch for AUD$54.95 (~USD$42 / £30 / €34 ) The TrueEarth Netherlands Team As to be expected from such a huge project, many developers have been working tirelessly to get Netherlands prepared for you all. First and foremost, Netherlands TrueEarth is the brainchild of Eugene Krikunov, the lead developer of many other best-sellers such as Global Base and our Open Landclass series. Holger Sandmann has contributed his considerable GIS expertise to the scenery, in between his long list of other projects. Chris Clack and Neil Hill bring the airports of the Netherlands to life; as our regular "region airports" specialists, their work can be found at each landing zone around the country. Richard Bui, Frank Schnibben and Sylvain Delepierre are the "special detailing" team; the custom landmarks, ships, bridges, radio towers, windmills and thousands of other custom placements are their work. Frank has also designed the custom building autogen texture sets found exclusively within this region. Finally, Allen Kriesman has brought components of his CityScene technology over to the urban and city centres of Netherlands. Iain Emms and John Lovell have been hard at work capturing many facets of the Netherlands, please find a small taste of the screenshots below. As always, we don't give any release dates. The team are working extremely hard in the background; we look forward to sharing more info with you over the coming weeks. Most importantly for you guys, Emmsie and JL will be posting even more shots later in the week... but in the mean time, enjoy! Cheers, Jarrad

  4. Hi, I have an issue with autogen appearing on airports on top of/inside the airport buildings. I've seen it on a number of airports now, is there a possible fix? I've also seen the same for some scenery in TE Washington Example below at O89 (fall river airport) - of course if I put exclude areas in WED it gets rid, but I shouldn't have to do this for multiple default airports... Thanks, James
  5. Hi Orbx team; After asking, I was advised to post this here. If this is not where this goes, please let me know. I have had Pearson Field for quite some time and obtained TE Oregon HD a couple of days ago. Of course, the first place I went was Pearson Field. It looks like TE has introduced a slight anomaly to a taxiway at Pearson. Also, Pearson did not have blue taxi lights around the apron and now it does but they did not get captured in the screenshots. I have all of Pearson (three parts) loaded under Airports and all of TE loads after that in its appropriate order. I am using v 11.36r2 which, I think (always hard to really know) is not a beta. I do not have any other meshes or orthophotos overlapping this region. Just thought you might want to know. By the way, these are both fantastic and amazing pieces of work. I hope the day comes that you turn your talents to the New England area of the US. Everyone seems to enjoy the west coast so much but the northeast also overs some fantastic mountain areas and lots of water along with many major cities. Cheers and thanks for the hard work. Anyway: This is Pearson as it was: This is Person with only TrueEarth: and this is Pearson and TE together:

  9. HI, I just noticed this in my files... So Cal has airports! However, I don't see them in NorCal. Did I install wrong? Thanks!
  10. Some shots from my first flight over True Earth Oregon for P3D V4.5. This is my first TE Purchase - but will certainly not be my last - it is simply stunning - but I'll let the pictures from around Lakeview ans Klamath Falls do the rest of the talking

  13. This time were leaving KSFO. Im really amazed about the TE products in v5. All the things that were impossible, or at least problematic before in v4, like flying with planes like PMDG etc, are no problem here in v5 ^^ Its nearly a wonder how much of a perf improvement LM could do there. Hopefully the last bugs will be fixed soon, then we have the best sim out there ever. I mentioned it already in another post but it gets more clear to me with every flight: P3D v5 is the time of Orbx. Nearly maxed settings (Autogen density Very Dense, Scenery Density Very high) on a 7700k and RTX 2080 and never dropped below 30 fps (locked on 30)
  14. One of the advertized purpose of TrueEarth Norcal is [...] You could spend days exploring and still find uniqueness throughout [...]. GOAL ACHIEVED ! I took off from San Carlos and flew randomly just looking out. And the magic of flight simulation happened. I (re)discovered area I flew already but never saw like this.
  15. Dear Orbx Systems, TrueEarth Florida for Xplane looks insane! Do you have a release date for TrueEarth Florida on P3Dv4? I can't wait to use that scenery! KR, Chief
  16. Hi Everyone, I'm not sure if this issue is my installation, or if it's being caused by TrueEarth GB Central. The lake at EGNM looks like it's been filled with cement. I've tried both a clean X-plane installation, and one full of environment addons such as xEnviro, and I always see this strange lake. It doesn't happen with rivers or seas. If I enable reflections I get a lake of what looks like liquid mercury. Any advice on where to start looking or is this really a bug? Many Thanks Phill
  17. I have a very decent internet connection, but the extraction of the files are taking way to long and I'm tired of this, I will request a refund if I cannot get this software soon! Operating system: Windows 10 Simulator: X-Plane 11 Screenshot: Issue: Downloading and installment of Trueearth Florida HD is taking forever, I'm now on my second try, will cancel an request refund if I have to wait so long, again.
  18. Dear Orbx Forum, this is my first post in this X-Plane forum regarding an issue that makes me ask for your help. A couple of days ago I took advantage of the Orbx Super Sale and purchased a couple of addons including True Earth GB South, True Earth Northern California HD, True Earth Oregon HD and True Earth Washington HD for X-Plane 11. As I new that these files will require a huge amount of disk space I decided to install these onto a new 2TB external hard drive and link the sceneries to my Custom Scenery folder via a shortcut. However a have lots of trouble installing the mentioned sceneries which failed to extract several files during the scenery installation process. As such, while loading a flight in one of the above mentioned regions, I get this error message that forces my simulator to close (see picture below for the case of Oregon). Now I have researched through several forum posts on this issue and tried a lot from the advices that were given to solve this problem. As it seems, this issue can occur in case of lack of space on the hard drive. I know that the hard drive on which my X-Plane 11 is installed, does not have enough disk space for all these sceneries, including their installation files (~350GB left) and that's also why I changed the location of the Orbx Temp folder and the Orbx Library folder onto my external 2TB drive. Another problem that occurs is that even when I click "Verify Files" after the installation process, Orbx central still fails to extract a large number of files which in result make X-Plane 11 crash again. I tried downloading and installing the files via Orbx Central, as well as manual download from the website - both failed. Now what's really interesting here - I think I might have already tried 8 installations or so with these addons and they all failed - except for one scenario: I tried installing True Earth GB South onto my normal X-Plane hard drive (as it is the smallest file). Here, the installation worked perfectly for me, no issues, verfication of files was not a problem and the scenery was correctly displayed in the sim. As such, apparently my True Earth addons can be installed onto my normal C-hard drive but not onto my much larger new external drive. Other could be installed onto my external drive without any issue tough. Is there anyone who has encountered the same installation problem that I have or can help me with solving the issue? I would really like to get True Earth working on my external drive as, like mentioned, my C-hard drive where X-Plane 11 is located, is too small. I have attached a screenshot of the error message in X-Plane. I would like to post also the Orbx Log File but aparently with 19MB its already too large (or can I send it comewhere else?)... If there is anything else required, please let me know! Kind regards!
  19. Our most ambitious project to date sees us take the next step in bringing more of the X-Plane world to life with our TrueEarth range of products. TrueEarth US Northern California is the result of years of research and development as well as countless hours of crafting together one of the most stunning and diverse regions in North America. Take off from across the sprawling region and explore to your heart’s content with over 212,000 square kilometers of orthoimagery and accurately placed autogen. The wide-range of landscapes, detailed mountains and stunning coastlines will redefine how you travel across the state in X-Plane 11. Special care and attention has been given to color correction, editing and balancing the orthoimagery to ensure the highest fidelity and quality. Using the latest technology, millions of trees have been accurately placed throughout the entire region and grouped together to create an immersive environment if you enjoy flying close to the ground. The vegetation has been hand-coloured to ensure it blends in perfectly with the ground textures. Northern California prides itself on its varied landscape, giving you plenty of choice for places to explore. Yosemite National Park, famous for its stunning valleys and flower-covered meadows, find life in X-Plane thanks to the TrueEarth technology. If the wilderness isn’t your thing, then take a trip up the Northern California coast and catch the west-coast sunshine as the light bounces off of your aircraft. The sights you will see will be truly breathtaking. Set yourself the challenge of finding everything there is to see in Northern California. With nearly 1,000 points of interest to seek out, flying in a GA aircraft has never been so rewarding once you find them all. Seek out Alcatraz Island, Google's headquarters, the Apple "Spaceship" HQ, the massive blimp hangars near San Jose or seek out the many Sonoma County Vineyards. Just a small sample of the POI models for the San Francisco tile alone! (Click to expand image to view in 4K) The most exciting element of North California is the variety of topography throughout the region, meaning you could spend days exploring and still find uniqueness throughout. The rugged coastlines up by Big Sur and Shelter Cove make for excellent expeditions, whilst seeing the peaks of Mt Shasta and the Sierra Nevada is simply breathtaking. Perhaps you want a more urban experience? The beautiful cityscape of San Francisco has been fully modeled with the latest PBR techniques for a detailed rendition of the City by the Bay. Take the challenge of flying under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco or fly right over Silicon Valley in San Jose. Whatever your preference, TrueEarth US NorCal for X-Plane 11 will have something for you. And if you're a PilotEdge user, enjoy the skies above NorCal with full real-time ATC with actual human controllers! TrueEarth US Northern California HD vs SD Exactly as we have done with TrueEarth US Washington and TrueEarth US Oregon, Northern California will be available in two versions - high definition (HD) 212GB and standard definition (SD) 53GB. The only difference between these two products is the ground texture resolution. If disk space is a concern, check out the SD version of TrueEarth US NorCal, which provides the same regional coverage, but at just a a quarter of the disk space. The slightly reduced texture resolution still provides incredible detail but enables smoother performance for those with older graphics cards. If you prefer the full fidelity, we recommend the HD version for best resolution. FEATURES 212,000 km2 of hand-corrected/cleaned aerial imagery in 1m/px resolution (HD version) or 2m/px resolution (SD version) Millions of individual autogen trees/shrubs, grouped by type and hand-corrected for maximum realism across the entire region Explore and soar over the stunning San Francisco Cityscape crafted with full PBR effects Nearly 1,000 custom PBR POIs placed around the state; including San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, Silicon Valley and many, many more. All major cities accurately modeled, including SFO, Sacramento, San Jose, Oakland, Monterey, Fresno, Redding and many others. Millions of themed and efficient PBR autogen buildings placed to match the aerial imagery across the entire region Ultra detailed elevation mesh sourced from 10m DEM to bring out great detail in the coastline and mountains Beautiful hand-cleaned water-masking, which blends in beautifully Many marinas have hand-placed 3D boats added Blends in seamlessly with TrueEarth US Oregon and the upcoming TrueEarth US Southern California (in development) to provide even more US coverage COVERAGE MAP Stay tuned for more previews over the coming week! Note: screenshots are taken from both HD and SD versions.

  23. During this terrible time of the Corona virus a lot people work at home. For me it was already quite usual, because I am retired. Nevertheless I walk around in my neighborhood (Netherlands - Enkhuizen) taking all necessary precautions. At home I do some drawing and fly around the virtual world using Prepar3D and the fantastic Orbx products (I on a lot of it). I create YouTube videos which are enjoyed by some people. The creations is really fun, because after flying I edit the movie using Screencast-O-Matic, a great product which is not expensive (I use it already about 6 years). During this proces it feels like I am at that location. In this way I am far away from Corona. More flights I created can be found at www.wilveenstra.nl I hope all of you will stay healthy and overcome this period. http://youtu.be/rFgdJaDSJz4?hd=1 Have a nice flight, Wil Btw, the end of the flight with the city of Birmingham looks terrible compared to the start.
  24. Bought GB south yesterday. installed it and got the error message I've verified the files multiple times with no success:( I checked the texture folder and it seems like all the folders and .JPG files which, if im correct, aren't meant to be? Someone please help!!!
  25. Operating system: Windows 10 Simulator: Prepar3D v4 Screenshot: Issue: central.log TrueEarth Netherlands is not displayed on the Discover page. Is there a reason for that? Furthermore I like the new Central. It is a great improvement! Have nice flight, Wil
