  1. Good Afternoon, I’m having issues with stuttering/freezing of P3D v5.2HF1 at MKs EFHK. An example of this can be experienced if you load up at stand 14 and pan around. This happens with default and payware AC, and other scenery’s are ok. I would be interested if anyone else has experienced this? I've tried the usually remedies but to no effect. My Specs: 5950x, 3090 and 32GB of RAM. TIA James.
  2. Hello there, I have an RTX2080, I9-9900k @ 4.7ghz, 32gb ram but i'm still having huge performance problems at EGPH. My rendering settings are: High, High, 4xSSAA FXAA (1080p monitor), 16x anistropic filtering, high objects and minimal reflections. When the aircraft is facing the car park of the airport (especially when parked at the gates), my fps drop from 60 to 25 and the GPU usage spikes to 100% load. The sim starts lagging and really ruins the experience. At night is even worse, i think that it has to do with some polygons of cars/strreet lamps. Is there a fix for this? The problem is worse vith Vulkan on because of the higher GPU workload.
  3. Hello, I bought Orbx Edinburgh yesterday evening and was excited to have an upgrade on the Uk2000 Edinburgh. My PC has decent specifications and can handle a lot of complex airports, like Aerosoft EGLL and fly tampa EHAM and EKCH at around 30-40 fps , but Orbx Edinburgh was running at around 5 fps, making the airport unusable. I have the recommended settings from the Edinburgh user guide set in the p3d graphics options. I also use Orbx global base pack, EU Scotland, and Open LC Europe. Maybe my scenery library is disordered, I’m not sure what is causing such awful performance issues but I wonder if this could be remedied or If I could be given a refund. Apart from the performance issues I’ve noticed quite a few unfinished parts of the airport that aren’t really noticeable until I’d paid and installed it, like the floating Safedock systems and unblinded runway grass edges. Many thanks.
  4. Just did a complete, clean install of Windows, FSX and orbx a couple of days ago on a newly formatted machine. But when I launched FSX initially, it informed me that it was indexing scenery changes which happened fairly quickly, twice, and then the FSX screen just hung after that. FSX shows "not responding" in task manager. The first time it happened, I let it "run" all night thinking some enormous indexing activity might be happening but still no response in the morning. Ever since then, before running FSX, I go to file manager and rename my ORBX directory under FSX as ORBX1. When FSX fires up, it gives me a scenery file error, at which point I rename ORBX1 back to ORBX and click OK to the FSX error and get another rebuilding indexes message before, within a minute, the FSX:SE HOME displays and I can fly as normal. Following these steps (primarily renaming ORBX folder and renaming it back) is the only way I can get FSX to launch successfully. Here are the only two items of note that I can think of: #1: I'm running FSX:SE on a Steam Library created on an external 7200RPM USB 3 5TB drive. I've got an i7 processor, 16GB RAM and Win10 on local SSD on this machine. This is a new setup for me so not entirely sure how it should "feel" loading FSX. But, once running, performance is great. #2: With the much improved FTX Central (nice job to those folks!), I queued up all my product (much more than in my ancient sig) in one batch and downloaded it in one pass. Presumably, there is a lot of indexing to be done after that. But that doesn't explain (to me at least) why simply creating a scenery error (renaming ORBX to ORBX1) would skip over the need for a completed index. But I frankly don't know why any of this works and just grateful I found a way. I'm hoping someone might be able to offer me an explanation for the above and/or a better way...
  5. Hi everyone, I'm using P3d 3.35 as the 3.4 kills my vas. For months, I've been running vector, with moderate tick-box settings, along with global and NA without any problems and good performane. But, I never installed the libraries until the other day. I have had excellent performance even in high-vas areas with the usual addon payware airports and most of my sliders set to the right. I also use MT6, evntex as16 and asca. So, my system's pretty loaded. I've been averaging available vas from 1-1.3gb depending on where I'm flying. Even if it would drop, it would also bounce back. Right after that I installed the libraries, I'm losing 30% performance. I deactivated them and removed them from the menu inside P3D. However, the performance decrease still remains. I have a couple of questions. First, since I don't use any of ORBX airports, do the libraries contribute to any of the standard autogen or NA or Global packs? Second, how do I completely delete the libraries, and only the libraries, so I can get my performance back if this is indeed the problem. Thanks for your help, John

  7. hello everyone , First of all i am so happy to join this great forum , i would like to thank everyone in the dev. team & forum administrators that made FSX looks much better and make us feel the real aviation experience =========== my problem is I have orbx PAEN Airport my FPS with Airbus X extended inside the VC is 34 on the runway , After using FRAPS to record a video my lock frame while recording was 23-26 which means i should have no lag but after seeing the video i found it was lagging ( about 15 FPS ) To overcome this issue i used fs recorder render but it takes too long to record a full video with high quality ! I have Fully tweaked my fsx.cfg on www.venetubo.com/fsx.html‎ =========== sorry if this topic is in wrong section i am new to this forum ===========
  8. Brought my new Wiz bang PC home at noon yesterday (see sig for specs). Had it connected in one hour. By 11 pm I had most of my support app files installed. Used Win7 "Ease Transfer" to port across most config. The biggest win here is that all the FSX log files were over and jumping to 1:00pm today when I ran the vanilla FSX for the first time, I saw all its old files and therefore my pilot records were there with logs back to when I first installed FSX in 2008 (900+ hrs and 1900+ landings). Very happy Jan!. Now came even more excitement, with all the scenery sliders maxed other than Autogen which I had set to very dense I set the Frame rate cap to 45 and flew at the default Friday Harbour in Washington state. Applied shift+z and there was the reason for spending around $3K - 45fps more or less rock steady. Since then I have steadily progressed installing addons like REX, FSUIPC4, FSRecorder, and Plan-G. Now Iam re-downloading OZx AU+NA to join my already amassed collection of FTX scenery/airports/others (around 80 purchased from FSS since 2008) in preparation for a massive attack on the base install. I also have UTX-Europe but will hold off on that for now (mainly because I have lost the install files). Along the way I have kept running into small obstacles with support apps or the config files missing. dotnet 3.5, adobe flash, getright downloader, Evernote, eWallet, anti-virus, snagit screen shots, Win8 applets out of date etc etc. I must say at this stage, although there is a much bigger learning curve with Win8 than its predecessors, I have got to like it very much and no issues at all so far with FSX. OZx 3.1 has nearly finished downloading, so I am back to the evening shift. more later. Cheers
  9. Hi all, A year or so ago I purchased a whole bunch of ORBX packages including all the North America Terrain regions and a couple of the North American airports. While flying around in one of the Terrains is fine and performance is great as long as I use one of the default MS GA aircrafts, once I start to load one of the Caranedo aircrafts or fly around one of the ORBX purchased airports, forget it, the performance is way too slow and completely unusable. I built my own computer just for this purpose and thought that I did pretty good (Windows gives me a 7.7 for all the criteria except for Primary hard disk which it gives me a 5.9). I used to have MS flight sim performance issues but after several fresh re-installs and performing some of the tweaks online I never get the software failures (which used to be a big issue for me). Stability is great. My stats are: Processor: Intel Core i7 950@3.07GHZ Installed memory 12.0 GB 64 bit (what other stats are meaningful) Can someone please offer suggestions? I would love to buy the UK terrain areas and some airports but wish to resolve my performance issue first. Thanks!
