  1. Both my touchdowns were hard, but I still hope you will enjoy my first video shared here. If you have particular interest - This is a link to the google map of my world trip: Google maps World trip map It is not my first time doing long hauls, but this year I purchased large amount of products from Orbx for P3D. I am doing this, because I love flying long hauls, I do not sleep on them most of the time, I record parts of them and create YouTube content with them. I sincerely hope on positive feedback from you all, thank you for reading my topic!
  2. I don't know about you guys, but since WU6, MSFS is running smoother and looking better than ever- especially with the ability to up the value of the off screen terrain caching now. I've been enjoying some low level exploring through the mountains of New Zealand's South Island, following the Clutha River between Roxborough and Wanaka. The area is possibly lesser known than the internationally famous likes of Queenstown and Milford Sound, but just as beautiful thanks to the high res satellite ground textures combined with Orbx's NZ Mesh. The flight plan and detailed route description have been uploaded to worldflights.tour here: https://worldtour.flights/flightplans/375
  3. Another bush trip that I flew today was a flight through the Molesworth Station, the largest station (ranch) in NZ at over 1800 square kilometers in size. The route departs from Omaka (NZOM), follows the Awatere River up through an earthquake faultline and some pretty remarkable seismically generated topography, weaving through a few braided rivers until eventually reaching Hamner Springs (NZHR). This flight plan is also uploaded to worldtour.flights, along with several others that I have named the New Zealand Local Series.
  4. I had issues with sunken runways at Whenuapai (NZWP). I was looking for an alternative airport to NZAA that had ILS available and Whenuapai suited well except that the height issues made it unusable. I had all sorts of "stuff" installed with FSX but with my Prepar3D installation, stuck with ORBX vector scenery worldwide including most of my airports. The only non- ORBX airport scenery I have installed is for Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson & Dunedin. Certainly noting in the Auckland area. In trying to find a solution for my NZWP issues (I had already run the FTX Central Vector utility without success), I checked the forums and found an entry in the FSX Support forums as below. The directory structures in Lockheed Prepar3d are similar to FSX so I was able to go to Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZNI_05_SCENERY\scenery to ensure that the 4 files mentioned in the post were there - and they were. I then checked Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\World\scenery and found NZWP_ADEX_VLC_ALT.bgl which I renamed NZWP_ADEX_VLC_ALT.old. This solved my problem. I have posted this in the hope that it helps another forum user.
  5. I bought countless products from your company, including all about New Zealand (and look forward to the release of the next airport). How much I like this country! But sadly - I just play P3D and go to any airport in New Zealand, CTD! After reading all the scenes and textures...etc.(P3D v4 CTD every airport in New Zealand.) Some questions have been raised in your company forum (New Zealand new install and CTD issue), But in the end there is no conclusion! I had to put these scenes in the refrigerator first... Do you have any ideas or suggestions? I am running P3D v4.3, the installation scenario (only your company's products, no other) as follows: FTX Global BASE Pack FTX Global VECTOR FTX Global Trees HD NZ North Island NZ South Island NZMF Milford Sound Airport NZQN Queenstown Airport NZWR Whangarei Airport
  6. Hello everyone, Following last week's announcement, Finni Hansen's NZGS Gisborne Airport is now available for purchase on OrbxDirect. NZGS is situated on the outskirts of Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island in New Zealand and is one of the few airports in the world that has a railway line, the Palmerston North-Gisborne Line, crossing the main runway (see video below). Gisborne Airport airport is situated just next to the ocean in Poverty Bay, with spectacular views of the Young Nick’s Head mountain as you depart over open waters. It consists of a single terminal and gate, an asphalt runway 1310 meters long and several grass runways. Air New Zealand and Sunair both operate out of NZGS, however the airport is used for a combination of medical flights, SAR, and GA-Traffic - it gets quite busy as you can imagine! Key Features: Accurate representation of Gisborne airport and cityscape Large coverage area including the airport, Young Nick's Head mountain, and the city of Gisborne Ground specular mapping Baked ambient occlusion and night lighting Dynamic lighting for P3DV4 Orbx PeopleFlow Animated WA165 Vintage Steam train NZGS Gisborne Airport is now available to purchase from OrbxDirect for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $24.35 / €21 / £18.50) For the best experience, the NZ North Island region should be used in conjunction with NZGS - click here to add this to your Orbx collection.
  7. This week I bought and installed my last 2 regions: New Zealand North and South Island. However, strange things are happening. First of all, the planes look not to be positioned good: (Little Navmap) When planes are moving the taxi through buildings: But looking at Google Earth after exporting from Little NavMap it looks good there: I don't get the point and am rather confused. Are you familiar with this behavior and can you help me out. Have a nice flight, Wil
  8. Hi There simmer, this is my video about AI Traffic Australia and New Zealand by Orbx! Enjoy! Regards, Almedin
  9. So, I haven't had much time to fly lately, and even less time to take screenshots and post them. That said, I managed a short flight out of Whangarei and flew in a meandering northerly direction, landing at the Bay of Islands airfield in Kerikeri. Once landed, I noticed an odd advertisement for a place far far away from Kerikeri...pretty cool! It is in the last screenshot: #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 Not sure who has found that before, but it is the first time I have seen it Love the little hidden surprises like this in Orbx scenery! Cheers!
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm new to orbx and I have a quick question before I purchase any of the products. Is there any means to purchase a complete package for example. If I purchase the South Island pack, Do I need to purchase the Queenstown pack separately or is this included in the south Island pack. Better yet is there a simple way to Purchase every product available to New Zealand in one pack? Apologies if this post is duplicated, I'm having trouble navigating the forums and I'm eager to get underway. Cheers Kevin Thomas.

  12. Kia ora, welcome to NZWR Whangarei Airport, Orbx's first North Island airport; located in the northernmost city in New Zealand in the Northland region of the North Island. Whangarei has been on my radar for several years now, and with the assistance of one of our forums members (tuisong) for on-site photography this beautiful NZ destination has been made possible. This project includes the airport itself along with a large amount of photoreal coverage of the bay and valley that the city of Whangarei itself is in. There are some additional locations included in this package, including 3 helipads and many important points of interest for navigation and visiting. Whangarei is the northernmost city in New Zealand, and the regional capital of the Northland region. Situated in a river valley at the back end of its large harbor, Whangarei is an important industrial area producing cement, refining oil, and shipping industrial goods via its ports. The city is host to Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST) which operates helicopter rescue operations in surrounding Northland. The NEST Helicopter Base north of the city, NZJR Whangarei Hospital Helipad, and McLeod Bay Rescue Helipad have all been modeled in addition to the airport. Whangarei Airport is situated on the Onerahi peninsula, southeast of the city center. While limited by the geography of the area, it has two runways, a sealed asphalt runway of 3,599ft and a grass runway of 1,558ft. The airport is served by regular flights to Auckland operated by Air New Zealand Link on Dash 8 Q300 aircraft. A smaller air taxi service, Sunair, operates flights to Claris, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Rotorua using Piper PA-23 Aztec's and Cessna 172's. The airport has been previously served by Beechcraft 1900's and ATR 72's. This project has just entered beta, so all going well it should be available this holiday season. Compatibility Available for FSX, FSX:SE, and Prepar3D v1, 2, 3, and 4 Requires FTX NZ New Zealand North Island (NZNI) Coverage 60sq mi/155sq km of photoreal coverage at 10cm/30cm/60cm/1m Airports and heliports NZWR Whangarei Airport - HD airport NZJR Whangarei Hospital Heliport - helipad atop the city hospital, west of the city center NEST Helicopter Base - rescue helicopter base north of the city center McLeod Bay Helipad - new helipad at the entrance of Whangarei Harbor, built for rescue operations Features Detailed rendition of NZWR Whangarei Airport Three additional helicopter pads around the city and surrounds Color blended and fully autogen annotated photoreal coverage of Whangarei airport, city, and harbor Advanced rendering techniques for realistic materials at the airport, including precipitation effects on the ground surfaces, specular shine, and bump mapping Dynamic lighting in Prepar3D v4, provided by Jon Murchison APX designed for AI Traffic Australia and New Zealand package, designed by Graham Eccleston POI's including Marsden Point refinery, Portland cement plant, Te Matau bridge, and detailed city center ObjectFlow, PeopleFlow2, TextureFlow, and StaticFlow included Airport modeled with on-site photography provided by Roger Alchin. And without further ado, screenshots. Many of these shots were produced for these previews by our very own Adam Banks. 13. This is just a small grouse concerning the Milford Sound airport scenery. First off, I just love this area, and I think Orbx did a wonderful job with it. However, there just a few things that I have noticed that could be fixed. Firstly, concerning the waterfall that is next to the marina (I think it is called Bowen Falls). In my sim the large water spray sprites appear about 100 yards in front of the falls rather than at the foot of the falls. They make it look like there is a geyser that is right in front of the falls. I can actually fly between these sprites and the falls itself. Secondly, whenever I take off from runway 29, right after I take off near the end of the runway, the sim pauses for about 1 second before it continues. This happens with all aircraft, and all flights. And lastly, there is a patch of controlled airspace near Milford Sound, west of the airport and in the mountains. Whenever I fly into this airspace, the flight stops, and I am booted back to the main Prepar3D screen. There is no error or explanation as to what just happened. It is almost like I am flying into an invisible mountain. This happens with all aircraft too. I am using Prepar3D v4.1 (same things happened in v4.0), I have the latest version of FTX Central installed, and I have the latest version of Object Flow installed. No big problems, and as I said, I just love flying in this scenery.
  14. Hey Guys, So I recently started using Orbx and I found the AI Traffic, YES!!! although I done everything it wants me to do but I cant find any AI aircraft in game, I fly YMML-YSSY back and fourth as JQ502 (real flight) with my Aerosoft A320, and have not come across a single AI Aircraft... not one... I don't have FTX Global or any Orbx Payware as I cant afford it but I'm pretty sure it says that I can use AI Traffic AU/NZ with default FSX airports. Also on FTX Central I attempt to configure the product and when ever I close the window to "save" my preferences (Enhanced ATC sound file), and then open the Control panel again it isn't saved. Please help... Braiden Stokely (OzzyGamer275) Aspiring Qantas 787-9 Pilot!
  15. Spent sometime working in Fielding this week. so thought I would try some local flights there but when I did the taxiways and Runway where under the Ground please see the Attached Picture If anyone can Advise what I need to fix it would be great Thanks Greg
  16. Just reporting a glitch in the New Zealand south island scenery in P3d. Entering the airspace around this landing strip (NZFJ) from the west or the north, or departing the strip in either of those directions causes the plane to crash, as if there is an invisible wall. I am able to make an approach or departure on 28. Not on 10. John Ring - WIndows 10, P3d v3.4 and FSX, 5919baafb39fe
  17. 15 videos in and I'm ALMOST done. Just looking for some water runways to finish with. Any ideas?
  18. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if some kind soul would help me please ? I have a strange problem with my New Zealand Regions in P3dV3 , I have Crash detection problems i will be just flying along nicely , then crash in midair. Another scenario is i take off and again it will crash as if ive crashed into and object ??, I have tried different planes so its not any particular aircraft. on my FTX Global its fine , i dont get this issue , its only when i have oceania (New Zealand Regions) Installed , so im guessing this is a problem ? , I have adjusted the mesh settings which havent really change anything at all , I have pasted a link into a video i created to try and demonstrate whats happening , you may have to flick through bits of it as i dont have an SSD Drive and it takes a while loading the scenario. here is the link: Also I re downloaded my Queenstown today after the installer for P3Dv3 was released , quite looking forward to flying from there , when another problem ? which i have also shown on the video , The airport looks tottally bizarre with 2 runways on top of each other and my plane in the middle like a Sandwich ? Again i have tried mesh settings but still no joy ? , can anyone help at all ? im guessing no body else has had this experience in P3Dv3 Oceania Regions or the Queenstown Airport problem ? Would really appreciate any sound advice
  19. I did a fresh install of FSX to an new computer and installed FTX New Zealand North island scenery using FlightSim Store installer. FSX is out of the box, I haven't tweaked fsx.cfg file or done anything yet to corrupt the program. I took off for a short test flight from Napier airport, and the surroundings are flooding with water. What could cause this? I haven't seen this problem before and I don't know how to begin to solve this. Is this a problem of scenery library, or did the installation fail or does this have something to do with graphics card or what? Help!
  20. Hey everyone, I just joined this forum after looking for some addons for FSX:SE. After reading a bit I've come to understand that all the FTX products (found on FlightSimStore) are compatible with the Steam Edition (and I have no addons whatsoever installed for it as of now). However, the sheer mass of information may have been a little too much for me: I was looking for something to enable me to fly in my home country, which is New Zealand (although I've been living in Europe for more than 10 years now I miss home every day). I was wondering if there are any fellow Kiwis around who give give me some advice on what packages you bought to create the best New Zealand flying experience for you. So far I've found the base products FTX Global (- bases... I think) , FTX Vector (I think I'm missing one or a couple here), and on FlightSim Store I've found these two: New Zealand North & South Island ( http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=2130 ; ;http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=1987 ) alongside a couple of airports (including Queenstown and Milford Sound). Could you guys give me some tips on what to buy to create the best flying experience over New Zealand? Also, am I right to assume that I'd need FTX Global and FTX Vector (and the others) FIRST before buying the North & South Islands packs (or would these two run even without having bought the "bigger packages"? (On FlightSim Store there is no notion of you needing other programs to run those two individually but after doing some reading here I'm fairly confident that's not correct... ) I hope I didn't create too much confusion right now
  21. Hi, ALL: I found two unpainted(Color Black) aircrafts at NZMF after I installed Orbx Milford Sound Airport, anyone have the same problem with me?
  22. Light piston powered twins are my favourite aircraft type to fly in the sim, and I've recently added the Flysimware C402C to my virtual hanger. Below is a test flight from Dunedin to Greymouth, with the HD blue and white livery matching the wintry Southern Alpine landscape below. The photoreal scenery in shots 6 and 7 are part of the REAL NZ subscription package, and blend perfectly with the FTX region! No shots from the landing sorry- it was an eyes outside job!
  23. Hi there, I have the beautiful Queenstown airport installed over the NZSI area. Unfortunately I manually adjusted some levels in the Scenery Library and accidentally moved some of the ORBX entries. Now the runway at NZQN sits in a gulley where the terrain levels are messed up. I've tried moving things around to bring it back to normal but fear I've just made the problem worse. Can anybody suggest a solution, or perhaps post a screenshot of their scenery library so I might be able to figure out where everything should sit? Cheers, Matt
  24. Queenstown today, at sunrise. Was going to a barbecue ... LOL! PS. I'll leave a piece of meat and a mug of beer for those who show up.
