  1. A fine modelled airport worth a extended visit, arriving in a Trinidad TB21 and a tour at almost sunset throwing contrastful shadows for the best views: The side-part of the airport for GA-planes and privat Jets Planespotters at the fence to view landing aircrafts To the main International airport Stayed a while till the moonlight replaced the last sunrays over the Island and could capture follow grand shot:
  2. From LIEOs beautiful GA terminal ... ... a quick takeoff ... ... and a turn back over Olbia city, ... ... with last views of this beautiful harbour, whilst climbing eastwards over the Mediterranean. Just a short hop later we make landfall near Lido de Ostia, with Fiumicino airport in the background. The eternal city. And we use Ciampino airport, with a slightly better railway connection to Roma Stazione Termini.
  3. Climbing out of Calvi in my rediscovered favourite prop plane... ... and over the rugged mountains of the island. The Lac de Calacuccia can be seen here, but some details are missing - like the beautiful city of Corte. Soon we descend to the sunny west coast... ... near the military airbase of Sulinzara. Some kilometres further south the long beach of Olmucciu awaits, where we have spent some holidays. If you head up the Cavu river you find beautiful gorges and parks for Abseiling and ziplining. The bay of Porto Vecchio, the "metropole" of the southeast of Corse. There should be a rock with a castle between Bonifacio bay and the sea. Just a few minutes south we already meet Sardinia, here at the millionaires coast of Porto Cervo. Descending over the Golfo Aranci... ... into Olbia. The PAPIs of runway 23 show all red, in contrast to the ILS (and the pilot´s feeling). Busy times at the commercial part of the airport... ... and the GA area is crowded as well.
  4. We are delighted to announce Matteo Veneziani's picturesque Olbia Costa Smeralda for Microsoft Flight Simulator! One of our most popular European destinations has received a complete overhaul for the new simulator, with Matteo investing months of work on this project since completing Hollywood Burbank. Located on the idyllic Mediterranean island of Sardinia, Olbia encompasses both the the airport in complete detail, as well as the surrounding city and coastal approaches. As a popular Italian holiday destination, the airport sees a mix of airline, corporate and GA traffic, as well as being a home base for the aerial firefighting (waterbomber) fleet. Using the latest MSFS SDK updates, this airport is one of our very first to integrate completely customized animated jetways, as well as a custom ground poly (projected mesh). All textures have been redone, with full PBR and higher resolution artwork utilized throughout. Dozens of landmarks lie waiting to be explored, including several new easter eggs not previously included in the original P3D release. All-new GSE and static aircraft types have been added to the existing fleet for the MSFS version, as well as crisp custom aerial imagery for the airport environment. Careful attention has been given to the apron markings, sloping runway and detailed vegetation placement, as well as improved coastline and rockwork along the harbour. Utilizing innovative night lighting techniques, custom wig-wag and dynamic taxiway lighting complement the comprehensive mix of apron, terminal and runway effects. A complete airport & city package, Olbia Costa Smeralda is at an advanced stage of development, with more information and screenshots to be rolled out during the coming week. Enjoy!
  5. Landed here yesterday and the airport is stunning. Great job guys The only issues I saw were lots of ground traffic (Follow Me trucks etc.) stationary on the main taxiway. I had to just plough over two of them to get to the gate. Not a big deal as they don't cause your plane to crash but it spoils the realism a little.
  6. A flight at the wonderful Olbia Costa Esmeralda airport after some weeks flying almost exclusively with MSFS 2020. I was missing very much the realism and immersion that a study level airliner gives us. And let me say, it was a pleasure to be back to the amazing PMDG 737 NGXu, which for me is the best airliner ever released for a sim. The visuals of course are not at the level of MSFS2020 (the best looking sim ever), but P3D+great quality scenery like this one give a top-notch experience. We still don't have high quality aircraft for MSFS (the 3 stock airliners are a tragedy, IMHO). The stock GA aircraft are better and enjoyable for VFR. I think that, for one year at least, I will still choose P3D for airliner flights, XP11+TE regions for IFR GA flights, and MSFS exclusively for GA VFR flights. There are pros and cons in all platforms, nowadays I need (and love) them all.
  7. From Olbia in the north of Sardegna it is just a short hop to Corse, just as Patrick @Neptune6 suggested. As the runway chosen by ATC wanted me to start inland, I quickly turned right to get another view of the city. The sim weather was not so inviting as the real one, ... ... but I can say Olbia city is brilliantly modeled and gives a fantastic impression. Quite the view if you start to northeast. Brigitte Bardot greeting the Isla Maddalena, ... ... before crossing the unnoticable border to les Iles Lavezzi, Corse. Bonifacio. The peninsula should be a city on a rock - quite the attraction. Unfortunately this is not depicted in OLC Europe. The southeast of Corsica has a number of famous beaches... ... plus the magnificent city of Porto Vecchio, located on a small hill. The mouth of Cavu river with an adjacent beach. We have spent a number of holidays there. If you go hiking upstream the river, the landscape becomes dramatic. And the villages in the mountains are famous as well. Here we see the curvy roads near Sartene... ... and two glimpses of the settlement: The cultural... ... and the even more cultural. On base to Ajaccio. Ajaccio is the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, but unfortunately usually overcrowded by cruise ship tourists (we just waited in a bar until they left before starting our tour...).
  8. These QUICK LOOK videos are very short videos made using P3D4 flight simulator. This one looks at the Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, (LIEO), in Olbia, Sardinia, Italy via Helicopter. This was just relesed by ORBX Simulation Systems for P3D4. https://youtu.be/aLf4k3ZYcOA
  9. I'm a bit into scenery design these days. Still a lot to learn, but I'm happy with the results.
