  1. Good Morning All, Can any one help me with above subject, have cloud presentation that appear to be discharging 10,000 volts maybe known as the jaggies around edges of clouds, not noticed this on Eurpopean fits. Kind Regards Charlie
  2. This video is a FSX flight of a simulated Embraer Phenom 300 aircraft using PRO-ATC/X. The flight departs from Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC) in Bloomfield, Colorado and arrives at Telluride Regional Airport (KTEX) in Telluride, Colorado. Based on YouTube analytical data, I’ve changed the format of my flight videos. The average person only watches for about 2 minutes. The best I can do with a flight is about 20 minutes. Thus, I will concentrate on departures, landings and scenery while still having most of the important air traffic control (ATC) commands too. I am retired and a hobby flight simulator enthusiast user name Polymerman. I would be pleased for viewers to subscribe to my OVER YOUR HEAD PRODUCTIONS channel for new releases at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu_zeEUvH6_33EI0tuBTfRw. This is a non-commercial hobby YouTube channel. This channel enables me to have a year round fun hobby and share it with others of similar interests. The following credits are from my elder memory so please forgive me if I leave some out. Please post a comment and I’ll try and update this area if possible: Microsoft FSX Steam, Dovetail, Orbx Simulation Systems sceneries including KBJC and KTEX, Pointsoft PRO-ATC/X, DX10 Scenery Fixer, Active Sky 2016, EZDOK EZCA V2,. A special thank you goes to: 1. Marcel Verheydt for the Pro-Atc/X voicesets (http://www.mavecreations.weebly.com). I used voice “US Richard” as the copilot or PNF. 2. Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), a free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Download and start streaming quickly and easily on Windows, Mac or Linux.(https://obsproject.com/)
  3. After installing latest KTEX is have some very weird anomolies. What is the fix for this? I will add a screenshot to be explicit. .
  4. Quick flight Sedona to Telluride in Pilatus PC-21 (awesome aircraft) I know, lots of pictures for one post. I always have a hard time deciding which to post, maybe you can let me know which ones you like best? Orbx- FTX: Global BASE, Orbx- FTX: Global VECTOR,Orbx- FTX: Global North America, Orbx- FTX: Global KSEZ Sedona Airport, Orbx- FTX: Global KTEX Telluride Regional Airport Gear up and away to Telluride Landing at Telluride
  5. It was a fun flight until I got close to Telluride, and it was shrouded in clouds...dumb flying ensued, and I eventually put it safely on the ground. I would NEVER do this in real life. I should've landed at an alternate when I came upon the scene in shot #6, but I was a real idiot getting as close to nature as I got in shot #7. ...and now I'll go relax with a shot of old #7...
  6. spotted this while considering a flight from KTEX (presumably a placement error)
  7. Not a real problem, actually quite fun, but presumably not meant to be there? Was about to take of from KTEX and had one of those "behind you!" moments circled below
  8. Grumman F3F from Telluride to Monument Valley Enjoy and thanks for looking! P3DV3 - Orbx Weather 2 Cheers Karsten
  9. Running KTEX in P3D 3.4. I cannot figure out why cloud shadows are having no effect on some of the terrain around KTEX. I have double checked the config to make sure I have OpenLC and Vector toggled to on since I am running both. I use the fully hardened terrain model in the config but tried the other options too but no dice.
  10. Thanks to the observation of John Lovell and Jarrad Marshall I have become aware of an issue with no trees at Telluride. I have followed Jarrad's advice and re-installed orbxlibs 160321 and cycled the groups in Central V2 many times as well as restarting FSX many times but nothing changes. The odd thing is that outside of Telluride area I seem to have normal trees. So I'm logging this support request as I am not sure what to try next. The following two screen shots show the trees as I enter the Telluride from the North into Ouray. Then once inside the coverage area, trees just show as ground cover or bushes. Please follow the following link to more supporting screenshots and comments. http://www.evernote.com/l/AE0SJLePUhBMnKxZieJugo_KVYZAgfIpLH0/ For some reason the last 5 screenshots don't show in the link above, so I have created a new link for these as they are perhaps more important. http://www.evernote.com/l/AE1WLbjcFclKC6HNC9xkaWPTT7VztsxT1iQ/ Cheers Anton.
  11. Hi, The screen captures represent a short flight from Eagle County airport (KEGE) to Telluride (KTEX). All shots are unedited and in FSX. The flight was made during the winter season, on January 8. There are lots of beautiful mountains between KEGE and Telluride, and also some unpredictable weather… The expected ceiling at Telluride was 8500 ft. On the way to the airport, the clouds and visibility were sometimes obscuring the mountains. Telluride is a very inviting airport for a MD-11. The 7000 feet runway itself does not represent a big challenge, although its 100 feet are a bit narrow: this aircraft would normally require a 150 feet wide landing surface. The virtual VFR approach made with the MD-11 was the most expensive way to do the trip, since it required a fly-by and a 270 degree turn to the right to align with runway 09. The 270 degree turn at a 10-20 degree bank allowed to transit from 14,000 to 10,000 ft without doing anything radical. Just a turn while descending and gradually loosing speed to arrive at around 160 kts on final. The aircraft was now installed on long final, with flaps set at 50 degrees. The runway’s 9078 feet msl elevation meant the pilots dealt with lower air density when approaching and, as such, the airspeed had to be adjusted accordingly to prevent stalling on final. Here is a view from the Telluride tower… Now with a view like that, you would not consider coming in IFR…! To prevent an overshoot and some additional expenses in fuel (which are already skyrocketing), an optimal approach was required. Most accidents with the MD-11 happen when the pilot pushes on the stick when there is a rebound with the nose wheel, thus creating an even stronger rebound. When there is a rebound, there is no need to push on the stick, just wait and the aircraft sets itself quickly. Now with max breaking and thrust reversers… The MD-11 can easily turn at the first taxiway at Telluride. But in order to capture a wider view of the airport, I exited at the last taxiway (again adding to the already enormous expense in fuel…) The employee on the ramp was worried that the MD-11 lower winglet would scratch N900SS while taxiing. But there was plenty of space (11 inches)... The MD-11 was parked temporarily in a spot needed by every aircraft. It was necessary to unload quickly the precious cargo and get out of the way. Some expert handling would be needed to help move back that MD-11 close to the runway. But that was the Telluride’s airport manager problem and he had promised he would have something ready! Cheers! François

  13. Telluride to Aspen in a Vought Corsair Enjoy and thanks for looking! FSX - DX10 - Shade - ASN Weather, edited a bit with Google Picasa 3 Cheers Karsten
  14. ... to visit the cities of Silverton and Ouray. With the challenge of some mountains in between - that would surely bring other prop planes to their limits. The Legacy v2 in turbocharged version helps a bit, and after the "heavy-breathing" effect I just had to activate the Oxygen system. A bird that fits really well here!
  15. Durango to Telluride Enjoy and thanks for looking! FSX - DX10 - Shade - ASN Weather Cheers Karsten
  16. Day 3. Download 3 ready. Time enough for a little challenge... not in a Challenger, but in a similar appropriate type: That was tight. At 9000 ft, full throttle. Colorado River in pure FTXG, not (yet) with Open_LC. Passing along Maurizios Grand Canyon photoscenery... ... and into SoCal, just south of Las Vegas. Over the sea of buildings... ... and into 7L. With a successful approach - but with the KLAX buildings not showing up properly. After reinstall of the orbxlibs & re-sorting the sequence in scenery.cfg (according to the guideline) it was fine again.
  17. Telluride to Provo Enjoy and thanks for looking! FSX - DX10 - Shade - ASN Weather Cheers Karsten
  18. As expected ... and feared, openLC NA still needs a bit of patience... or say it different: the download gives us time to spend for flying! From Denver, ... ... slowly climbing out (that DC-3 does not have too much power at a 9000 ft takeoff left), across Vail ... ... to Eagle Co.: Going on across Gypsum ... ... and towards Telluride. Lovely ATC gives us a go-around, to see more of the area: Finally, landed, ready for a drink:
  19. Hello, I just wanted to let ORBX know of a typo on the KTEX product page. In the paragraph description of the product, it lists the areas outside of Telluride that are covered by the scenery. It lists "Mountain Village, Ouray and SILVTERON". It should be Silverton. Just thought I'd let you guys know. (Is this where this topic should be? I don't know as it didn't really seem to fit in anywhere) Mark
  20. Saw some shots of the new JF Mosquito and decided to put this on my birthday list. Being very strong willed after about 15 seconds I caved in and brought it Not a bad plane at all and I am now able to fly a Mossie in the ORBX world as up until now I only had an excellent freeware one in FSX. 1. So my first flight out of Palm Spring and one thing was soon very evident, the JF Mosquito only has Rotax 912 engines. 2. My old 1999 AU Falcon sounds more like a Mosquito than this. 3. So after importing a suitable freeware sound pack it is over to KTEX. Yes I was going to put a limit on what FS products I brought but that great idea lasted only 2 weeks 4. Listen carefully. THOSE are Merlins. 5. There is a view out of the window for Andy. Buy it Andy, this is a classic British aircraft. 6. Climbing effortlessly past some magnificent KTEX mountains. 7. A view over the shoulder, I forgot to see if the Very Pistol works. 8. Just cant get enough of those Merlins. The Missus has left the room so crank up the volume. 9. The beautiful lines of the Wooden Wonder. 10. Just behind the rear port nacelle is an AI aircraft. 11. After flying for a minute I realised I was catching it and it turned out to be a nice C-130. "g'day chaps!" 12. Two of the most recognisable and famous aircraft built flying together at FL300. 13. Another view out of the window. 14. One last look and time to head for home. I like the Mossie but surely JF could do better with the sound. They produce some great planes only to spoil them with shocking sound sets. For me sound is important!
  21. Were Off... Have a Great Weekend Chaps.......
  22. Climbing out of Tulluride . . . . . . on the RNAV (GPS)-D approach . . . . . . and touching down in Eagle County What a nice flight between these two airports of Jarrad.
