  1. I took this screenshot last night as soon as I landed at KSBA. It was raining on approach, which made it possible for me to observe a beautiful view while on the downwind leg and on final approach. It was one of the most exciting approaches I've done so far on msfs - I recorded a video and will post it soon to share that moment
  2. I have been having a devil of a time trying to get the Airbus Neo A320 in MS2020 to keep flying after T/O Basically as it levelled off , I would always hear 3 chimes and it would go into an unrecoverable dive, with "retard playing in my ears as I came close to the ground" It all become a lot clearer to me a while ago, when I checked on the Flybywire website and discovered a hot fix for the unrecoverable dive when the flaps are left in the takeoff flap 1 position. Well who knew ?? Not moi, I'm an armchair pilot , but I sure as heck never checked that So a quick delete and reinstall of the mod and then I had a magic moment ... Luckily I had my "V" key finger at the ready . And it was happy dance time all around. No more A320 submarine , naval exercises !! Ready to go - I triple checked everything Jack @Jack Sawyer I'm too nervous to smile at you , but I do have my toes crossed!! And at this point , I hear the dreaded 3 chimes.... But all I can think of and can see is.... But somehow, in spite of it all I managed to find the flaps lever and pushed it back to 0 (I watched a youtube video expert who was very self assured even though he was only 16 ) And wonder of wonders .... I leveled off and I'm still flying And here I am , everything looks like I knew what I was doing (I didn't ....) So I had my happy dance, but its much too much excitement for someone at my age . And with that, I think that I will go back to my luts and ray tracing and stuff for a while, but I'll be back !!! Cheers Pete
  3. Cheers Pete "We're Gate 2, and American is Gate 2A . Do you tell him or do I ?" Heads it's you !! Your turn "
  4. Speaking purely for myself I am quite willing to accept that at the present time MS2020 is still very much a "work in progress" and there are many additional items and processes which I hope will eventually make their appearance. Yes, the be fair it is incredibly frustrating at times, which I have been experiencing over the last few days with CTD's appearing out of random However, I was able to solve it (aircraft livery structure was not the only change in the last update), but also a general livery addons that I had also seemed to be problematic. So here are two new liveries that I downloaded . I love the visual fidelity above all else that it is capable of providing. And when it works , for me "all is forgiven Until the next time - ha, ha! . But in the meantime I am enjoying both my sims and what Orbx brings to enhance them. So I hope you enjoy them Cheers Pete PS for John Mac @John Mac this may only apply to my system John, but ... I have Windows Defender set to exclude scanning of both the MS2020 folders and also my XPlane 11.50r3 folder. When I deleted the exclusion, in both sims I had micro stutters occurring. When I applied the exclusion again, no micro stutters. I can't say that this can be generalized, but it might be something to try with the latest update if you don't do this at present.
  5. I find FILOU @FILOU absolutely awe inspiring. He is a true master of the art And so trying to learn , I took the plunge. It is hard folks , really , really hard . But I learned a lot of things that I didn't know in the process and that was a good thing. That's the thing about a true guru, they make it look easy , but it isn't. However in the process of trying, it made me think about things that I only had a vague understanding about. And that's the thing about an expert in his craft, trying to do it yourself makes you better your own skills Thank you for what you do for us FILOU. I am grateful I hope that this first attempt has some merit Cheers R Nope , not even close Later, much later and (I counted - 43 screenshots) it may have some possibilities. But like I said , he makes it look so easy and it is very far from that.
  6. It's a real first for me. In all the time I have been making screenshots I never have seen a rainbow imaged in any flight simulation This morning just testing something else entirely "the magic pixie dust was in my corner so to speak" and it happened Cheers Renault
  7. I have just installed the latest MS2020 Update #5. It installed seamlessly and I encountered no problems One of the validation steps I go through with updates is to use the same scenery area each time to check if I have any issues. I use KSBA , Santa Barbara for this. Yes there were a few minor settings that got changed, but nothing that took more than a minute of two to check and reset. In this case - a bit of patience and space to let Asobo sort out previous update problems has been more than amply rewarded. My initial reaction was "Oh wow .... it's back". The "AA" bug seems to have been put to rest and performance and frame rates seems slightly better than before. But I will let you be the judge of my initial screenshots. And for those of you who have also been waiting patiently for VR , I noticed that the UserCfg.opt settings file has now got a new section starting at VRScalingOptions followed by a very extensive parameter settings called GraphicsVR. . I don't do VR but I am pleased for those who have been waiting. So complete speculation on my part but it looks like its coming soon Cheers R
  8. MS2020 is a "voyage of discovery" for me at times. Today I started playing around with weather in a single cloud layer. Although not realistic (I'm not sure I would want to be here if it was ) I thought it was "interesting" And I had a bit of fun trying to improve my piloting skills All screenshots are straight out of MS. As always thanks for stopping by Cheers Pete What a time to run out of "gas" Still on the runway - for me it's a A+ And I'm up. And I thought things were going just "swimmingly" I think my friend OND @olderndirt would properly call it a "stall". I don't know why they call it a stall though, for me it seemed it was more like imminent disaster is mere seconds away unless you do something now and a stall just didn't describe the feeling. There was no "stalling" involved ! I was very , very quickly heading for oblivion And for those of you who are very skilled/and or real pilots, it was at this point with lots of warning bells, that I realized that I had forgotten to push the "blue lever " all the way forward . Wow - it was like a "turbo boost " Happy days!! And back on the ground , phew!
