  1. Hello All, I've recently narrowed this down to a confliction between my Orbx Products. Owned Orbx Products Orbx Global base Orbx Vectors Orbx NA OpenLC Orbx NorCAl Orbx Store Order Numbers: 5cd2520b68335 | 5ccfa5ebcf56c ---- *****I do not have any other scenery products installed other than Orbx**** I'm sure this has happened to some of you with high mesh resolution settings. When a user flies over a runway with a "cliff" or sharp terrain changes on final, and at or slightly below the glide slope with a "heavy aircraft"; P3D will suck the aircraft in the ground. Here are various examples of what happens to my aircraft when I fly over a sharp terrain change (1m Mesh Resolution) on final: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-plWAfAxsXY&feature=youtu.be&t=1808 (30:08) if the link does not take you there. Made by a different user having a similar problem. More specifically, I first experienced it when on a KSFO RW28R final in the PMDG 747-8. Here are some detailed pictures of problematic areas (from a different user in a P3D bug report thread). Things I've Tried Vector Terrain Data Correction. KSFO is not listed. Verified all Orbx scenery files. Uninstalling and reinstalling Orbx Norcal Disabling Orbx NorCal. This completely fixes the landing problem, but I'd want to ideally keep the scenery Plus this causes for grass to appear on the runways. After I completely disabled Orbx NorCal, I re-enabled it to attempt to adjust the scenery load priority to have the "Mesh" component of NorCal be pushed all the way at the bottom. Although this fixed the grass on the runway, the elevation data confliction problem made a nasty reappearance. After a little more digging I instead moved the "CVX" component of NorCal to all the way at the bottom, which then fixed the elevation confliction, however thus by doing so "sinking" the textures below/ontop of the runway causing a nasty flickering and splotchy grassy runway. I am at a loss at to what to try next. Does anyone have a solution? It appears that buying FSG Pilot's mesh might be an expensive one... but am willing if I can get someone to confirm this as a fix. Thanks!
  2. Hi Guys congrats in getting P3Dv5 compatibility to the standard it is already!!! Small issue when installing global base into v5, central says 1 of the files failed to extract and suggested I use the verify files process to resolve it. I did and the issue remains and it directed me to this support. I appreciate 1 file may not be a huge issue on a global scale but would welcome some advice.
  3. Hi guys , Happy new Year for all !! I got very bright sections at night and dont know whats the Problem now. Orbx Global Base , Vector , LC EU , Germany north and south is Installed ! This Photo is made 60 miles southwest of Warsaw. But this sections and everywhere. Whats the Problem. HDR Off , Dynamic Lights are On in P3D v4.5 H2 ! I Also missed in Orbx Central for Global Base the "Configuration" ! Maybe for NightLights.... Need Help, this bright sections sucks
  4. After updating KTVL to the latest version, I am now experiencing a CTD when choosing this airport to either begin a flight from, or as a destination airport. --From the Scenerio Setup, I selected KTVL to begin my flight. I click okay. --As the scenery loading begins, P3D ver. 3.14 crashes directly to desktop. If I choose KTVL as my destination airport, within approx. 10 miles or less from KTVL, the flight momentarily freezes, I seem to loose sound and then P3D CTD. -- I uninstalled this latest version of KTVL and used the "default" KTVL airport scenery--all is fine--there is no CTD's. Tonight I installed again the updated version of KTVL and P3D went directly into CTD as KTVL scenery began to load. I had no problems with the previous version of this airport. I hope this issue can be resolved as I really enjoy this addon airport rather than the default one. -- Finally, I have attached both the central log as well as the App Crash for this event. I hope both of these items will help in discovering what is causing this issue. If for some reason, this issue cannot be corrected, is there any way I can get the previous version? central.log App Crash.txt
  5. I installed Global Base as an external library when Central v4 first released. I had just installed a complete brand new P3Dv4.5 install, so no previous ORBX packages had been installed. When I read about possible issues with external global, I decided to keep this set up, and not install any further LC or region products, until a solution was found. I was happy to keep this limited setup until a solution was found. So now I have P3Dv4.5HF2 installed, plus global base as an external. This is supposed to be a fix for the layering issues discovered earlier, so I am keen to learn what layers and order the global base package should look like when installed externally, so I can set this up and test. Given I have already have Global installed externally, with no LC products installed installed at this time, I would be happy to help out with any testing to see if HF2 allows correct layering of external global. Regards David
  6. Hello, I installed Global Base for MS Flight Simulator X via ORBX Central; after that I got the information, that the installation was sucessful. Opening the FSX I can see in the scenary library, that there are four files (FTXAA_ORBXLIBS, ORBX!OPENLC_EUROPE1, ORBX!OPENLC_NAMERICA1, ORBX!OPENLC_zBASE, see attachment). The check boxes for these four are activated. Nevertheless Global Base doesn't work at all, that means that the FSX is running with no problems, but there is definetely no change in the landscape at all (I tried different regions in North America and Europe). I am using a Win 10, 64 Bit system. Do I have anything to do in order to acivate Global Base? What can I do to find the fault? Thanks for your help, Klaus
  7. Operating system: Windows 10 64 bit Simulator: P3D v4.5 Screenshot: See attached Issue: Orbx Central - Settings - Insertion Point places Global Base at top of Scenery Library. Is there some way to manually modify Orbx Central's add-on xml files to place the base and LC files below the airport scenery files? If so where are these xml files located? Otherwise it appears P3D is loading these base texture files over the respective airport sceneries. This issue apparently is the consequence of Orbx Central's broken Insertion Point feature. Is there a recommended temporary work-around to properly organize Scenery Library file sequence until the Insertion Point feature issue is resolved? central.log
  8. Operating system: Windows 10 Pro Simulator: P3D V4.5 Screenshot: Issue: There is no option to move Global Base to the new library I have set up. Is this for a reason or is it an oversight? I can move my OpenLC products. Regards, Phil Reynolds
  9. I have just reinstalled FSX-SE onto my D drive. When I try to load the Orbx Global base scenery it does not appear in the scenery list FSX-SE. When I start FTX Central it shows in the detected sims list and downloads etc. It shows that it is installed and working correctly but does not have any effect in the look of the scenery. I have tried loading the Friday Harbour scenery with the same result. I do not get any error messages. An Orbx folder shows in the program list. I have looked in various forums some of them going back several years without finding an answer that I can understand. Age doesn't always take in tech talk. Some of the entries refer to registry problems. My experience in going into that realm was a disaster. A completed reinstall of the operating systems was needed. I do have P3Dv4 installed on another drive and apart from very long start up times all my Orbx scenery shows and works. Backseat
  10. I recently bought these since they're on sale. I tested them out and everything looks good, but I want to make sure I actually did everything correctly. I also got FreeMeshX recently and wanted to verify if its placement is correct.
  11. Let's leave Australia and head back to Singapore. Catering at Gold Coast. Time for the outside check! Nose gear looks good. Pitot tubes look free... ...as do those other ports... The biggest danger for a pilot is to get run over by one of the ground vehicles. Fan blades look like new. The exhaust cone looks fit. Main landing gear looks good. Tail cone looks awesome. Don't forget to have a look at the gear bays. Time to get back into the plane! Wait, Captain! A successful pushback. Lining up. Positive rate - Gear up! Climbing along the Gold Coast... Couple o'miles further we reach Brisbane. Just making sure the APU door is closed... The landscape changes. Making our way through Indonesia. Borneo / Kalimantan abeam. Ouch! Those anvils are right where we want to go. That looks massive. Cannot make out the magenta line in all this magenta... We fly a curve to the east. We should be about the last ones to get a landing clearance for a while. Uff! The weather looks already a bit better, this 747 has no problem to taxi to the runway. Done. That's it, I hope you enjoyed the trip!
  12. Hindu Kush = "Hindu Murderer" See here for Part 1: Part 2 of our journey from Lahore to Tokyo The valley of the Indus with the Karakoram Highway! The Rakaposhi. Heading into Chinese airspace, looking at the Pamir, the "Roof of the World". The Kunlun Shan in the foreground, the Karakoram with the K2 and the Gasherbrum group in the distance. Leaving the eight-thousanders... A last look at the Pamir. Night falls above the Kunlun Shan. ------ Big Jump ahead to Japan! ------- A quite elaborated approach to Narita. This looks like Tokyo. As always, thank you for staying on board and I hope you liked my little geography show.
  13. Part 1 of our flight from Lahore to Tokyo With permission of the Chinese government and a sufficient amount of spare oxygen on board, we are allowed to take the shorter route over the Himalayas and the Karakoram! Departure from Lahore. Runway 18L eagerly awaits us. Approach sector: Kuwait Airways on short final. It's our turn and we're climbing in between the clouds. Mangla Dam Lake just south of Islamabad. This is where the Hindu Kush begins... The Vale of Kashmir just above the wing... ... and the Nanga Parbat right ahead! Halfway up the Hindu Kush! Kashmir. We are approaching the first highlight of the flight! The valley of the Indus and the Hindu Kush ahead. The Nanga Parbat/Diamir just right of TANGO, the K2 and the Gasherbrum group in the upper right corner of the ND. Dear passengers, this is your Captain speaking. On the right side you can see the Nanga Parbat just above the engine nacelle. It's 8,126m high, that's 26,660ft... ...it's the ninth highest mountain on earth, but there are even higher mountains in Pakistan! On this mountain, Günter Messner, brother of world famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner, died in the attempt to reach the summit. Only Reinhold survived! So far the first half of the flight! Stay on board for the second half! Don't take the parachute!
  14. After doing a clean install with P3D v4.3, I am seeing some weird canyons about 20 miles east of Portland, OR. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Vector, Base, openLC NA, and PNW, but still have the same issue. What could be the issue and how can I get it fixed? Thanks, Anirudh
  15. Hello, I have purchased the Orbx Global base in 2015 with order Nr. FSS0428788 and I am trying to install it on a clean installation of FSX Steam edition on a windows 7 operating system. It previosly worked well with an older installation of FSX SE on the same computer. During the installation process there is a step where the installer asks me to chose a version. However, the dropdown menu does not show any versions to chose from and i cannot sucessfully finish the installation. Thanks fro any help with this issue.
  16. Hi, I installed Global Base into P3d v4 and FTX Central says that it is installed and up to date but it is not showing up in my sim. Here is a screen shot from your website compared to what I see in my sim. This is from the Global Base screenshot page on your website: Here is a screenshot from my sim after Global Base is installed: What am I doing wrong?
  17. I've just bought and installed my base and vectors at P3DV4.1 but no Night lights appeared! still that blurred yellow ground at night!
  18. Good Day, I have loaded in the four purchases (in the TAG order) onto my FSXSE program using the FTXCentral3 installer and they seem to be working well. However, upon takeoff with a Mooney Bravo I seem to outrun the graphics quickly. I realize that the four downloads may be stressing the system but it seems I have a pretty high-end system (I could be wrong) with the hardware details below with only FSX and Orbx downloads on it and I didn't expect to outrun the graphics within just a few minutes after takeoff. You will have to forgive me, I have been reading quite a few posts about the same issue and some gentlemen (like Phil) have suggested to rename the FSX.config and letting FSX rebuild it. Do I rename and then try to start the program? Will that start the process? Ultimately, I would like to get these graphics to show up but I am extremely new to the computer genre so many suggestions seem to go over my head. I could post screenshots if you'd like but I believe you may have already seen 100 like the one I'm describing. 19. Greetings, I totally turned Earth into a desert planet after the latest Global Base Update 1.41 for P3Dv3.4. What I updated today in order was FTX Central, then (not by choice) FTX Global Open LC NA, then Global Base. Had trouble downloading the Global base from FTX Central due to a "file being extracted appears to be corrupted" error at the top of the report. I downloaded manually and then had FTX Central install for me. So once I rebooted, I had no oceans and just random land classes everywhere. The scenery below is from Honolulu. Software info: Transaction ID: 5856c27b8da3e Product: FTX Global BASE Pack Amount paid: $64.97 AUD Purchased at: 2016-12-18 17:48:53 Quantity purchased: 1 Transaction ID: 585eba5db9bd2 Product: FTX Global openLC North America Amount paid: $35.72 AUD Purchased at: 2016-12-29 03:35:49 Quantity purchased: 1 Oh, and one more thing... I unchecked all the ORBX sceneries from the scenery library in P3D and it had no effect so I'm hoping I didn't just jack up P3D's default scenery too! Any assistance would be appreciated. At this point I'm ready to uninstall ORBX...all of it...just to get my oceans back. Hopefully the solution is relatively simple. Please let me know if there's any other information you need. Thanks!!
  20. U-Tapao is a Thai Navy air base in the Rayong district about 130 miles south of Bangkok. I have only travelled past here the once to this very industrialised part of Thailand. This flight takes us in the other direction towards the tourist town of Pattaya and then returning to VTBU 1. A big thanks are in order for Jankees for this wonderful RTAF Helldiver, taxying out with the Thai Airways maintenance complex in the background. p.1 Grumman Albatross gate guardian at U-Tapao 2. Ao Kong Kang at Sattahip, where the Thai Navy has a dockyard. The Thai Navy sports stadium at Sattahip. 3. Over Sattahip with the bay in the background. The major road is Route 3 Sukhumvit Road. p1. One of the many tower blocks that were springing up along the coast near Pattaya. 4. Now at Pattaya's Jontiem Beach. 5. Approaching VTBU at Sam Nak Thon. 6. Landing at U-Tapao over Route 3 again. p4 Some of the hangars seen from the main road, very little of the airport was visible. Thanks again to Jankees for your repaints this repaint especially, you have made my day. Just threw in a few snaps of the area I took in 2011(was it really that long ago!). Not very good as they were taken from the bus on a wet humid day and the windows were also poorly tinted which did not help.
  21. hello, I just downloaded the FTX Global Base package and i noticed that during the daytime the 3D lights appear as blue boxes where the lights should be and say microsoft flight simulator on them. At nightime they also appear as such and are very bright but all are the same color. I downloaded the FTX lights configurator and am still having the same problem. Any help is greately appreciated. bummed i cant enjoy this great product. thanks
  22. One of the great leaps forwards in the ORBX world was Global Vector, another part of adding that extra little bit of realism as well as aiding IFR flying. Here are a couple of comparison shots from Thailand. 1. Coming from the left is Motorway 9 (Kanchanaphisek Road) which joins the Asian Highway 1 by the starboard wingtip.. 2. On the ground at the junction with M9 and AH1. The colourful buildings are the Mahachulalongkorn Rachawitthayalai University. Just one mile down the road is another big junction and the traffic is horrendous. 3. 11 miles north is the ancient city of Ayutthaya. Hwy 32 is crossed by local road 309A, Rojana Road. 4. 24 years ago, when I lived here, it was just an ordinary cross roads, no dual carriageways then. I cannot believe how much the area has changed. As it was raining on my journey this year the RL shots here were taken in 2014.
  23. They say that this plane is underpowered but it had the strength to drag me away from GEN for a few hours. Brought the Lotusim L-39 today after some prompting from Steve (Republic DC-9) and finding out there was one the RTAF colours. 1. An RTAF L-39 near Noen Makok, Thailand. 2. Difficult to get a decent photo as there are too many trees around and they usually keep low in the circuit. An L-39 close to Tahkli AFB. What an interesting afternoon. Read the manual, yes you did hear that right and then watched a very good series of tutorials on starting the L-39. Took it for a flight and had problems landing as the hydraulics failed but got it down ok in the end. This plane has so many vices it is quite a challenge for some one like me who is usually a Ctrl+E flyer. A wonderful little jet from Lotusim and all for just AU$29. Well worth having. Many thanks to Steve for his persuasive powers.
  24. One shot from a flight out of Sendai on the Pacific Coast of Honshu which is near Japan 17. Just out of view on the right is the town of Kesennuma.
  25. Greetings, I know a thing or two about computers so I know the challenges of trying to develop code that will work with even 90% of the PCs out there – I am relatively sure this is one of those "one-off" issues. When flying in a part of the world covered only by Global Base and Global Vector, my FSX locks up, every time - Ctrl, Alt, Del shows "FSX Not Responding". Troubleshooting: I've tried to repeat the flights exactly and it doesn't happen at the same time…a different part of the flight. I have tried this in NY state, Chile and Korea. I have tried 3 different aircraft - all locked up. I have tried the same aircraft in a different ORBX scenery area, Norway, and another aircraft in an area covered by openLC NA–no problems. I then "un-did" Global Base and Global Vector (lots of clicking in the FSX Scenery Manager) and flew around Korea, same aircraft - no problems. So obviously my PC "doesn't like" something about Global Base and/or Global Vector So, again, this one is on me. My only question is has to do when the lock up occurs. I think it may happen when FSX is loading the next part of scenery. I've noticed a slight "pause" every now and then before a final lock up. If so, does anybody know any setting, either with FTX files or perhaps in FSX scenery settings that might mitigate this?
