  1. For this flight out of squamish I took a plane which is the standard equipment of the airline I am talking about. Not easy to get her airborne on the short runway, but a pleasure to fly over the scenery. At the exit of Squamish´s channel there is Bowen Island. Does it have a connection to the family of @BradB John? Soon after we spot Vancouver city ahead. Lions Gate Bridge, even suited for Jack-style flying. We head a little further eastwards, towards Pitt Meadows airfield, ... ... then we turn over the settlement of Clayton Heights, ... ... before we cross Langley BC. The home of @flyingleaf Karl, and the headquarter of Mule Team Airways. From there it is just a short hop westwards along Hwy 91... ... to Vancouver airport. Not that the jetways would be fitting to the DC-3...
  2. Getting out of Nanaimo land airfield CYCD we pass the nicely detailed industrial area at Duke Point... ... on the way to Nanaimo city. A bit further north is Departure Bay, ... ... where we turn east to cross the channel to the mainland. Another one of @BradB John´s favourite holiday vehicles on the way. Here we cross the confusing coastline of Pender Harbour. Enough parking lots for yachtsmen, it seems. The advantage of using a Cessna rather than a boat is that you can take a shortcut, ... ... looking at Sechelt & Salmon Inlet from above... ... before climbing up to Mt. Wrottesley and Mt. Ellesmere... ... and descending over the Brennan Lakes... ... towards Watt´s Point... ... and into Squamish Harbour. We chose the land airport again, ... ... with a nice place to park... ... and to rest. On a cool July evening.
  3. I love these tiny details added to sceneries, like here in Squamish. I also like runways looking short and narrow like these. As long as you can get your intended plane up into the air. From Squamish it is only a 10-minute-flight to Vancouver. A city that could also deserve a "cityscape light". And it already has an "airport heavy". With possible connections to - everywhere.
  4. The traveller, let us call him Martyn, arrived with all his luggage on time at Nanaimo Water Harbour. And his pilot was kind enough to make a little round over the harbour after takeoff. Just a short hop over the strait brings them to Pender Harbour. All these piers down there! Magnificient fjords... ... and mountains. The traveller and his pilot descend... ... into Squamish... ... for a little rest at the airfield. Thanks to the traveller´s brother for taking all these pictures!
  5. Another season had to be chosen for the flight between CEJ4 (Claresholm Industrial airport) and Squamish (CYSE) with the F-18. There is no winter maintenance at the destination. An icy 2400 feet runway for a F-18 would not have been very realistic. A dry surface was needed. It’s been a while since I visited the Claresholm airport, designed by Vlad Maly. It was very well designed. The Claresholm 3100 feet runway is plenty for take-off. Arriving in the valley, all set for the visual approach. Following the river. The approach was made at about 133 kts. This time, there was no deer in the vicinity of the runway. I hate it when a deer wants to act like an arrester cable. There is no jet fuel in Squamish for the F-18. But since the ride between CEJ4 and CYSE was only 684 kms (plus the climb), there is enough in the tanks to get to Vancouver, only 35 nm away. Cheers!
  6. Just installed CYSE the other night and I see that my installation is missing a few things, not sure if I did anything wrong but here are a few pictures to share with you folks. I would sure appreciate any ideas ya guys have. Thank you.

  8. Getting ready to leave Pender Harbour, without having damaged too many rigs... .. but before this I have to fill up my supplies. The picture is blurry, but the menu is lovely. A final view of Pender Harbour ... ... and here we turn into the next fjord to the south, ... ... having the city of Vancouver already to our right. Heavy traffic around my designated landing area... ... but this should be sufficient. Climbing out again with a yellow cab, Mr. Sawyer. After this landing I recognized that you could tick in and out so many additional details in the Squamish scenery - too much for my PC, and too many alternatives if you want to fly around in that city. So I probably can not show all detail that might be built in here - but definetively I do not want to switch and restart the sim multiple times before I can enjoy a little inspection. Instead, I went uptown... ... to CYSE. But who do I see there?
  9. Hi, Flying over Squamish in FSX:SE the runway and taxiways flash, which is rather distracting in such a beautiful scenery! I've searched the forums but the only advice I can find relates to EZDOK (which I don't use) and P3D. Could you point me towards a fix for this, please? Kind regards, Steve

  12. I've just had to do a fresh install of Windows 10, P3D and all of its scenery, so I thought I might as well treat myself to OpenLC North America at the same time. However, this is what happens to the formerly beautiful CYSE - all of the airport buildings are buried under a pile of rubble. I've tried enabling/disabling AEC, manually in the first instance because it wasn't listed in the vector tool. The tool now recognises it but nothing I do changes the way CYSE looks. I currently have ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_AEC\scenery\AEC_CYSE.inactive and ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\FTX_VECTOR_APT\scenery\ABP_CYSE.inactive I've also tried renaming one or other of those files to .bgl, changing the order of the scnery library and reinstalling CYSE but it remains the same. Any ideas?
  13. Hi, I have just been having a bad P3D Hair day. I had upgraded (client upgrade) to 3.2 a couple of weeks ago and have been using it ok since then. Yesterday it started playing silly buggers - some saved flights wouldn't load, or I wouldn't be able to start it up at all. Today, it mostly refused to start up at all, or if it did would refuse to load up any flights (I'd get scenery loading box then it would all just vanish). Only things I had changed since the 3.2 upgrade were setting up Filou's SweetFX stuff and a whole bunch of Orbx's new installers - all the freeware except for the last ones announced (today?) plus CYSE. I tried removing SweetFX (although I had been running ok with it) but that didn't help. After a bit of nosing around the LM forums and help files (never something I find hugely helpful), I managed to find out how to turn on Content Error Logging, and then oddly enough, the next time I started P3D it happily came up using the default flight I had set up and that it had refused to start with all morning. It ran for a bit, with me changing various aircraft, weathers etc in flight. When I ended the session I got the "content errors found message" so I looked in the log file. Most of the hundreds of errors are obviously typos and minor stuff in various aircraft files, but I did also see "Error loading ObjectFlow_CYSE.dll (in DLL.xml)". So I looked in my DLL.xml and there is the reference to the ObjectFlow_CYSE.dll implying it should be in my \P3D\ORBX\FTZ_NA\FTX_AA_CYSE\Scenery, but there is no such file in that directory. In fact, I can't see this file anywhere on my system (via Windows search). So - should I have this file? I'm not assuming this is the sole cause of my P3D weirdness, but it does seem to be an error and as I've spotted it. Also, if anyone knows about any other error logging or diagnostics I can turn on in P3D I'd be grateful. I was pleased that the 3.2 upgrade had been do-able just with a client install, as I really didn't want to have to do a full install again, but if I have to . . . (but it'll be the last time for a long while, getting fed up with it) cheers, Andy (sorry, forgot order # - 0406905 for CYSE)
  14. Good morning, After recently installing the latest Orbxlibs update, I am having issues at multiple airports. (Specifically W28 and CYSE). There's no objects within the scenery. (No grass, runway details, taxiway signs, vegetation, peopleflow etc). This leads me to believe there is an issue with objectflow communicating with FSX. This only started happening after the recent Orbxlibs install. I know this is the cause since I was flying between these airports right before I updated it. Currently, I am running FSX. (Not steam). Just wanted to mention that doing any changes within FTX Central V2 does not alter the sim at all either. Even when I try to change options for each airport, nothing changes within the sim. So something is going on. I tried to run the un-installer via FTX Central, only 1 airport shows up in my list. (W28). I un-installed manually, re-installed, Updated to latest Libs, still same issue. Is there someone who can assist in getting the objectflow working for me again? Much appreciated. Thank you

  19. Per the airport description of features, I would like to "take a boat ride down the river" at CYSE Squamish. (Which I have loaded) How does one do this & what settings are required from the CYSE Menu? Thank you TTM

  23. Part 6 - Squamish (CYSE) to High River Regional (CEN4) - I looked at the weather for this route earlier today, and it was favorable, so I gave it a go. It was a long flight, at 361.2 nautical miles, and even in the Jug, it took almost two hours. OpusFSX really shined on this trip, and I got some screenshots that I really liked. It was actually tough trying to whittle it down to just ten. BTW, if this was a combat sim, I would've shot down the two Cessna's that jumped me in line as I was on the downwind leg. :wink:
  24. Part 5 - Swanson (2W3) to Squamish (CYSE) - The weather wasn't the best, but better than the last leg. As you'll see, I had to commandeer a new Jug as I pranged the prop upon landing at Swanson last time. This was a pretty straightforward flight until I got vectored for the approach at Squamish...in the mountains, covered in clouds, with some real gusty winds! I put her down in one piece, but I'm sure the mechanic is waiting to scream at me about the struts that I fully compressed.
  25. Had the C172 sat on the runway for about an hour at Squamish. Been on the phone to the bank trying to sort some things out (having a great week with big business!)so finally a five minute flight before going out to lunch. 1.
