  1. Sadly, the Sibwings An-2 will never be updated to P3Dv4, so I had to re-buy the new Aerosoft version. Not quite as good as my old one, IMHO - and a little buggy w.r.t. the model lighting - but here it is: depicting the An-2 flown to NZ from Lithuania in 1995 by Neville Cameron. Sadly no longer flying, it now resides in the Transport Museum at Wanaka. The livery can be found here. Adam.
  2. Following Tiger's lead, I grabbed the logo-laden SP-OLA and took off on my own version of the epic journey. I'll make sure I stay at least one leg behind Tiger so I can see how he does it . I won't fill up the forum with dozens of pics from every country I pass through, so here's just the one for the moment - Bulgaria, I think it was (!!). I'm really using the trip to discover the FTX GLOBAL world - way out of my regular NZ comfort zone! So - it's a bit of an adventure - and it's already amazing to see how the landscape varies, yet appears to be totally convincing (having never done a RTW trip in an Antonov, I wouldn't know )! I'm doing it in real time, as I pretend to work on my other PC - just checking every now and again to see if I've hit the odd mountain. This could take a while!!! Adam.
  3. ... can especially be found in the evening when taking off at Glacier Creek (KGZ) and landing at Long Lake (4AK3) ...
  4. I've finished my repaint of Neville Cameron's An-2 (LY-AKH). Here it is arriving at Thames/Coromandel in 1995 after its epic flight from Lithuania. The only An-2 in New Zealand (I think) - sadly now grounded and resides at the Wanaka Museum. NZNI NZTH is a perfectly passable rendition of the real thing, though I wouldn't know what it looked like in 1995! The file is on AussieX: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/3835-sibwings-antonov-an2-ly-akh/ The Sibwings An-2 is a professional product through and through. The paint kit is often a good indication of the overall attention to detail - and this one is well laid out and easy to work with. No wonder that the FSX world is being flooded by Antonovs! Adam.
  5. So marvellous to see this venerable old lady get the FSX treatment at last. Where else but around NZMF, seeing as it will take off/land on a sixpence (or should I say "kopek"?). Congratulations to Sibwings - this is a classic. Adam.
