  1. Hi. The following airports contain uncompiled services.xml files and produce that ground services are not displayed on airports that do not have a custom ground service configuration: YAYE YBNA YLHI YPPF YSPT EGTR --> this one contains also a .xm file in addition to the .xml file I reported this issue prior to SU7 for other airports, including some of the Aerosoft ones. See following topics: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/pc-ground-services-vehicles-and-marshallers-disappeared/474916 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/marshallers-disappear-due-to-wrong-airport-services-configuration/479209 To fix this you need to compile those files, or alternatively remove the uncompiled files and update layout.json to remove those entries as well. Could you please include that in the next updates? Cheers
  2. I'm here in Africa on the approach to HSAK Akobo. Many airports look like this not only here, but also in America. Either in a trench or on an elevation. Just don't plan on the area. It only affects small airports and is not an add-on. My basics are Orbx products. So global, Vector (repaired an add-on airport to the correct height in v5.2, so it also has an effect in v5.), All openLC and some regions, which it does not affect here. Now, after the above mentioned approach, I have checked all files that concern this scenery again, set the mesh setting from 1 to 5, no change when restarting. Where is the mistake? In the appendix the scenery - cfg Thank you Peter Fischer https://magentacloud.de/s/PBwJ72pmDKDB4Sg scenery.cfg
  3. I have purchased 4 airports thus far. All 4 are listed in Central, but only 2 are listed in the sim. All are up to date. Is this normal?
  4. Hello, First of all thanks for your beautifully modelled airports. Please take the time to read this topic. Its a bit long but it will give u a detailed understanding of a severe shortcoming which I feel nobody has yet pointed out but a serious realism killer. These are the 2 broad issues: Firstly, the intensity of apron lighting of airports at night are not sufficient. They are a bit dim. Generally, the airport aprons or the gates are super brightly lit at night. What i find a bit realism hampering is that the apron lightings are not that bright in the modelled airports.I have attached some screenshots how bright airport ramps look like at night in real life. The apron and ramp areas are lit by super bright lamps at night and then are no portion in between the gates or ramps where it looks a bit dark unless 2 consecutive gates are very far apart. This thing is applicable for almost all airports but becomes specially important for large airports. Apron areas lit by super bright lamps brings a vibrancy and adds to the liveliness of the airports. Another thing which is equally important is the coverage area of the lights,i.e; the area/distance upto which a light from a particular lamp illuminates, which is also not proper. The lights are dispersed in a very tight cone and rather too focused. The lights are not scattered properly as it should. A bit of explanation regarding the above two issues for your easy understanding- Below are 3 screenshots: 1. In most cases, the night lights in the sim is like the leftmost one(1st pic), both at airports and in general to a certain extent.(Obviously not so much highly focused but what I am trying to point out is the tight focus and the coverage area).Notice that the immediate surroundings suddenly becomes dark and the central part where the light actually falls is super brightly lit. There is a sharp noticeable contrast. 2. Whereas the apron/gate lighting or in general the airport lighting looks like the 2nd & 3rd picture in real life (sry for a bit disoriented positioning of the pics). Firstly, notice the intensity of the apron lights. Also, Considering the height at which the lamps are placed in the aprons, the coverage area of the lights should be like the one shown in the 2nd and 3rd pic. Also, Note the scattering of lights due to which the surface/ground looks almost evenly lit and not in sharp focused patches of light. The surface is lit even beyond the taxiway leading to the stands and generally its like that at almost all major airports. 3.And now a direct comparison of an airport in the sim with what is it actually in real life. Below are two real life night shots of Graz airport, Austria ,that's one of the airports modelled by Orbx for MSFS. They may not be so clear and has a bit light glow due to the cockpit glass, but good enough to understand the core issue. Notice the high intensity of the apron lights and the distance upto which the ground is illuminated (i.e. the coverage area of the lights). And I have compared with an in sim shot of the Orbx version of the same airport further below: And here is a night screenshot of Orbx- Graz airport, Austria for MSFS. Notice the too quick fading of the light intensity as well as the way too low intensity of the apron lights and the very low distance upto which the apron light illuminates. The possible causes of my 2nd issue may be low ground reflectivity, improper modelling of scattering of light (which are definitely MSFS bugs if these are the issues) and one is definitely low intensity of the lamp itself (which 3rd party devs like u have control over while modelling your airports) Now coming to a possible solution which is to increase the intensity of the lights which rather is a must for the very reasons demonstrated above. I have posted a screenshot of Graz airport only but this is the case more or less with all the airports of Orbx as well as of other devs. The recently released San Jose international airport particularly has that low intensity apron lights issue. The 2nd issue is not so prominent in this particular airport addon but the light intensity is way too low.As I said, International airports like this has super bright apron lights and closely spaced lamp masts causing an almost uniform super brightly lit airside area. And this is one of those which makes the airside look so vibrant and lively especially for airports of that size. Without this properly done, its almost same as X-plane or P3D apron lighting. Now generally speaking, by increasing the intensity of the apron lights, the coverage area of the lights would increase a bit and make my 2nd issue a bit less prominent at airports but not altogether remove it. I feel there is some bug regarding the way the lights cast by the lamps and their reflections are rendered in the sim.Its not as realistic and close to real. Why I am telling all these in Orbx support forum is because firstly,Its the 3rd party devs like u those who are bringing out the airport addons and modelling the night lighting. Secondly, as far as I know, Orbx and similar big 3rd part devs are currently working around the MSFS SDK & closely in touch with Asobo and Microsoft to suggest workaround regarding sdk bugs, providing ways to improve the sdk and so on and that's the reason I am sharing this you. By the time Asobo notes and understands this issue from their own forums(because hardly they have any airports with night lighting), there may be some 200-300 airports already launched by 3rd party devs and then it may not possible to update each and every airport and many might not be updated. So please take a note of my issue and atleast increase the intensity of apron lights because I am sure u yourself must have observed and experienced what i have said above and how nice it looks when the airside area is super brightly lit. I eagerly hope we can see this properly done from now on to bring your airports to that next level. Regarding the 2nd issue,I don't know if its possible to render that correctly in the current SDK. Hopefully, this is a MSFS bug and not of Orbx. If that's the case please do the needful so that its atleast possible in the sdk to render that properly by 3rd party devs as soon as possible. And definitely hoping for a reply from ur side atleast for the pain I took in detailing so much. Thanks for reading
  5. Alaska is awesome in MSFS, but could really use some help by Orbx. For Southern Alaska, the Homer marina on the spit is underwater and could use a MSFS version of the Orbx airport. Seward airport seems to be missing completely. It might be a great place for an Orbx airport. There are also strange elevation glitches especially around lakes such as Lower Summit Lake by Cooper Landing. Any way Southern Alaska or various high need spots can get the Orbx treatment? Seems like an area that could benefit a lot from Orbx because it is not a 3d city region by Microsoft but Orbx has already done a lot of work there and could be of lower investment to fix than other sports. Also I think I saw that Anchorage International Airport is missing a tower, it looked great int he Orbx Southern Alaska region. Thanks all!
  6. HI, I just noticed this in my files... So Cal has airports! However, I don't see them in NorCal. Did I install wrong? Thanks!
  7. True Earth Northern California (ver. 1.0.0) is installed. Even with the previous N. California region uninstalled there are still a lot of elevation issues at KRDD (ver. 1.1.1). KHES, a tiny airfield, has a doubled runway. At KNUQ the open hanger is now closed by something; can no longer fly through the hanger, which used to be fun.
  8. I have a custom built simulator with glass cockpit built by (TRC Netherlands) which has a student station where I select an airport which then loads onto the projector screen, The problem is that whn I load these airports the don't load correctly and starts to spin including the compass on the G1000 MFD I have attached a very short video clip, IMG_4672.MOV IMG_4640.MOV IMG_4672.MOV IMG_4673.MOV please can anyone help me resolve this issue?
  9. Operating system: Window 10 Simulator: PD3v4 Screenshot: Issue: I love the DISCOVER page in Orbx Central. I found quite a few free airports to install. The airports installed are colored PURPLE, the ones for purchase are in RED, and the GRAY ones are free. However, there are 4 airports with the gray icon that are not free. The airports are ESKS, EGPN, LEEDS, and LGKO. You may want to update the color to RED.
  10. Hi I'm a big Australia fan and I like to fly in Australia. My biggest wish is to have Perth Intl.and Darwin Intl. Airport. Are there any plans for those two Airports in the future? I'm realy looking forward to that
  11. When you have a lot of ORBX airports, is there a way to check to make sure that all the installed airports are complete and have no missing objects? A file or integrity checker of sorts? Thanks.
  12. I know many of you are keen to see your current Orbx airports working as they should in AUv2 but final touches are still being implemented into Orbx Central which meant we have had to put these on hold. We have now decided to make these updates available for users to install themselves if they feel comfortable doing so. The following downloadable zips along with installation instructions are made available for those who wish to take advantage of this option. Of course, if you do not feel comfortable manually installing these updates, then you are welcome to wait for the official roll out via Orbx Central when the new system is released in a few weeks time. What to expect with these updates. There is no new content with any of these updates. They merely contain updated files to fix issues relating to the implementation of AUv2 in place of the older AUv1 and Holgermesh combination. Issues addressed relate mainly to scenery items showing through from the AUv2 additional airports and terrain irregularities from the newer, more detail terrain included in AUv2. Notes on installation of these updates. These updates assume your current install of the Australian airports and AUv2 are in the default location within FSX and P3D. It also assumes you have not made any adjustments to these files or folders from their original installation apart from those available through the relevant Control Panel options. If you have made adjustment you should reverse these before proceeding with these updates. Download and unzip the relevant zips for each of the airports you have installed, select the main ORBX folder within each of these update folders and copy it into your main FSX or P3D folder. You should receive a warning for the Control Panel xml file for each airport, select to overwrite and the appropriate files should then be installed. For the most part, these updates will not overwrite any of your current files except the existing Control Panel xml files. Once installed, your Orbx system will still be set up for AUv1. You will be required to open the Control Panel for each airport where you will find a new option to activate the airport for Orbx Australia Version 2 Installed. Selecting this option will switch the appropriate new files on and deactivate those for AUv1. If that new option is not available or changes made do not hold, then it is most likely the files did not go where they should or there are inconsistencies with your Orbx install. If you still have AUv1 and Holgermesh installed, you can still install these updates if you wish. Just do not select the option Orbx Australia Version 2 Installed. Doing this will make your Orbx airports ready should you upgrade to AUv2 at a later time. Notes on files to download. You will note there are a number of separate updates for FSX and P3D. Many of the older addon airport files for FSX and earlier versions of P3D were slightly different to the more recent installs for P3D V3 and P3D V4. The following is a guide as to which zip you should download and install depending on the sim platform you are using. - For FSX, P3D V1 and P3D v2 - Download the FSX update. - For P3D V3 and P3D V4 - Download the P3D update. - Updates not identified as being for either sim are good for all platforms. 13. My issue is I have now over 10 airports with the Jetway in the sky. I do 90 Percent of my flying in USA. I have verified all my products and ran FTX Global airport elevation and no change just same . Thank you in advance for your help. William
  14. Please help I am a relative newbie but have successfully installed all three True Earth UK Scenery packs on my mac. I have bought Southampton and Sumburgh and tried to install last night. After reading forums I wonder if missing Orbx libraries is the problem. Downloaded today and its a folder with seven zip files in. Not sure what to do with them and where to put them - all help appreciated. I realise I am probably missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for help. Log.txt

  16. Hi All. I installed the freeware FTX Global Airport Pack and would like to visit the included airports in P3d, but unfortunately have no idea which airports are included (No User Guide PDF available). It will be appreciated if the relevant airports could be listed by the community. Thank you.
  17. Okay, off course vector, global would be one off their most popular buys and the regions off course will be somewhere on top off the popularity list for the amount off people buying that product, but what product sells best Orbx??? If you don't mind answering for the top 3 best selling airport+region, I have a hunch PNW+Australia is the best selling region but what about the airport? And please correct me if I'm wrong about the region! An answer after Xmas specials would make sense but an answer now during the sales would be interesting! Note: the airport doesn't have to be apart off a best selling region or a region at all...!
  18. Hi all, Firstly, thank you for all the wonderful freeware you supply. It's absolutely marvellous. I am having some issues with manual downloads of some airports (https://orbxdirect.com/freeware). They seem to be out of date. EO49 - Latest version 1.05 ,but manual download is 1.00 CAC8 - Latest version 1.20 ,but manual download is older CAG8 - Latest version 1.10 ,but manual download is 1.00 CAX6 - Latest version 1.05 ,but manual download is 1.00 What does this mean? Well it means that when you go to manually install in FTX Central it scans the file realises its out of date and tries to download the latest version. Normally, that would be fine, however I am using the "Fastlane" version of FTX Central which for me just instantly pauses and is stuck paused, whenever you try to download anything at all. So I have to use this manual download feature, which is fine, but only if the latest files can be downloaded. Is there someway the files for the above manual downloads can be updated please? Otherwise overall, love all of your products and generally have few issues with them. Keep up the good work! Bully.
  19. Hello everyone! This summer the heat has reached record highs - luckily senior developer Andreas Hegi has a brand new airport to cool you down a little! LSPN Triengen Airport is the first Swiss venture for Andreas, whose previous work includes classic airports such as Darrington, Orcas Island and Milford Sound. Not only do you get LSPN Triengen Airport in this pack, but it also includes a bonus airfield which is nestled amongst beautiful landscapes in Central Switzerland complete with rolling hills and sparkling lakes. This is a particularly special airport for the developer as Andreas actually lives in the area, so lots of time has been spent meticulously crafting small details which really bring it to life. He has even done all of the photography for R&D, having got permission to access both airfields! Located at N 47 ° 13 '36 "- E 08 ° 04' 41" and 1594 ft (486 meters) above sea level, Triengen Airport is used mainly for sightseeing flights where tourists can experience unforgettable views of some of Switzerland's most iconic mountains. LSPN also boasts a flight school, aerobatics, skydiving facilities, and of course the famous Flying Ranch restaurant. Points of Interest: Schloss Mauensee - an old chateau located on a small island The Landessender Beromünster radio tower Lake Sempach Golf-Sempachersee featuring custom buildings The central church of Triengen Key Features Incredibly detailed, high definition rendition of LSPN Triengen Airport and LSZO Luzern-Beromünster - about 145 square kilometers Scenic landscape location Offers stunning and challenging visual approaches Realistic HD textures created from on-site photography 30cm per pixel coverage Features Orbx Flow technology Wind active landing T direction indication Detailed visual charts included in the User Guide Includes many custom modeled POI’s including churches, a historic radio tower, a castle, a hospital and several industrial areas Hand placed autogen Compatible with FSX and all versions of P3D In addition to LSPN, we have also included LSZO Luzern-Beromünster so you can experience the region at it's very best. LSPN Triengen Airport will be available to purchase from OrbxDirect soon for AUD $32.95 (approx. USD $24.35 / €21 / £18.50 ) Coverage area map: Here are a few screenshots from Emmsie. Don't forget to stay tuned here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages for plenty more shots over the coming days!
  20. I use FTX Global BASE, Vector and EU LC. It works perfect. I recently installed the freeware EU airports and EU airport Pack. The problem I have is that the trees belonging to the airports pop-up at a far closer distance than the scenery trees. So when I am on final approach I see the airport and as I come closer the trees surrounding the airport pop up, while all other trees are present as far as I can see. Anyone here who has the same problem or knows a sollution. Thx!!
  21. Hi Scenery Wizz-Kids, Is there anyone out there who can help me with acquiring the bridges over the River Tyne, at Newcastle. I have the EU England region, but unless I have my scenery set up incorrectly, all I have spanning the River Tyne are 'planks'. Any help much appreciated. Regards, Robin Allison
  22. Hi guys Ok, after installing P3D v4.1 on a new rig, then installing FTX Central, downloading library and scenery, Milford Sound (NZMF) again has sunken into the ground: Running the FTX Global Vector Configuration Tool, run auto configuration for airport elevation correction, OK, then APPLY once it is through, still, it leaves the situation at NZMF unchanged. I run the account on the Win10 Pro machine with admin priviledges. P3D however does notice if I change something within the AEC in the Configuration Tool, as it does re-process the scenery indices when starting the sim. Ist there any other way to influence the mesh situation of the airfields? Here, I list my scenery library, how it is installed in the sim: There is no scenery besides 3 unrealated (different regions) FSGU NG (South America, Africa and Asia) meshes installed. Is there an other way to force the airport altitude to mesh altitude? Best Regards
  23. I just got FS Global Ultimate NG for Prepar3d v4 and some stock airports have field elevation issues. According to Pilot’s (developers of FSGUNG), this is due fact that these airports do not have accurate airport field elevations. But does Orbx payware airports not have these issues? Do all Orbx airports correctly depict field elevations? I’ve tested Orbx’s LOWI and haven’t noticed any issues. Best,
  24. Hi, I am with the latest P3D v4.1 and have the latest FTX central. After installing all the regions, global, lc and airports, I am having trouble with some UK airports. At Fairoaks I see trees through the pavement (see below) and at Sumburgh it seems that textures from the region are mixing with the airport addon. I erased and rebuild prepar3d.cfg, shaders and sceneryindexes. Could this be a problem of something else that needs to be erased and rebuild? Thanks for any advice.
  25. In Google Earth I created notifications for all freeware airports. I use FSC from Volker Heine and made the link to Google Earth. This way I can exactly see where I fly, what I use for my video recordings. So, now everyone who is interested can open this file in Google Earth and create flight plans based on the freeware airports. Download: FTX Freeware Airports - September 2017.kml Have a nice flight, Wil
