  1. I saw the same interview. But he was an Asobo developer, not a Microsoft employee. I could be wrong, and hopefully am, but I don't think he has any input into the pricing.
  2. That would be confirmation that it requires a subscription, $9.99 or possibly $14.99 per month.
  3. It's definitely not the vivid colors I'm used to from NZ, with or without your preset. Good luck!
  4. A2A's P-51, Spit, and P-40 all have an odd reflection on their canopies at certain angles in P3D4, but it looks blue in this one. Still a nice shot!
  5. It's already overclocked to 4.8. I'm just concerned that they recommend 6 cores, and 8 for ideal. I only have 4. And my 32Gb of DDR4 RAM is a slow 2400. They're not very specific about RAM speed. I was picked for the second Alpha wave, but had to decline because of a foot issue, can't use my pedals, then my joystick bit the dust when I knocked it off while elevating said bad foot. Would have been nice to see how my system performed before purchase.
  6. Everything is maxed out except dynamic reflections and shadow quality on high, not ultra, and I don't let scenery objects, vegetation, or buildings cast shadows (though they receive them). 1920x1080. I keep FPS set at a solid 24, and that's fine for GA use to me.
  7. Welp, think I'll be sticking with P3D4.5. i5-7600K and a 1080 won't cut it. I don't turn down settings.
  8. Great until I look at the v5 ground...no cloud shadows. That's a killer.
  9. Gotta wonder who's in the Alpha. 18 aircraft piled together, all pointed in the wrong direction.
  10. Breaks my heart to not see NZMF on the list.
  11. And virtually impossible to update every enhanced airport to the sloped runways, just too many for a do-over, I think. 1000 in New Zealand alone.
  12. Not overhyped if you're asthmatic and 60ish. I work from home, but picked a bad time to destroy my foot, so I've seen more doctors in the last month than in the last 40 years, inevitable that I'll get it. An in-law's family has already been quarantined.
  13. The Buildings HD issue with airport terminals isn't just with REX. I don't have REX, but have the funky facades and roofs on my larger terminals in Orbx Regions when Buildings HD is installed. Hopefully they come up with a fix.
  14. The models that posed for those avatars are highly insulted, Carlos.
  15. I'm just glad Nick provided that file and especially the lights configurator a couple of months ago or I never would have switched permanently to Orbx Central. Files saved to a flash drive. Two in fact. Many thanks, Nick!
  16. Ah, thanks for that, Andrew. For some reason I always scroll left. That did the trick.
  17. Along the same lines, I noticed that the announcement thread shows the POI for New Zealand's North Island as well as the outlines for both islands. The only product info I have for Oceania is for the Chatham Islands. Is the public release different from the Fastlane release?
  18. In A2A's case, the effects aren't listed in aircraft.cfg either. The effect is called by the model, but there is a separate fx file associated with it. You might want to search around through any effects folders.
  19. Beautiful! If the lights aren't baked into the model, you should be able to modify them. Not familiar with AH, but A2A has its own effects folder, and I have successfully toned down my T-6 lights.
  20. I checked for updates in Central, but it said none were available? Do we have to download the new version from the website?
  21. I dropped out of Alpha two weeks ago before ever receiving an invite. Today I got my download instructions. Well done!
  22. It's in your Orbx/User Documents folder, wherever you chose to install your scenery. Mine's in the default P3D folder install location.
  23. Ha! Malacoota is one of my favorites, gorgeous area, but it's from the original Australia 2, not one of the 70 new airports included in SP1. I have yet to see any AI traffic at any of those 70, though I certainly haven't checked them all.
