  1. I hope so, Adam.
According to the last email from NZA to me, it sounded different. I guess you have to accept that because of the Maxar satellite and the unfavorable angle at which he took the pictures.

This is the Mail from NZA:

"here is without NZA Milford. The tearing is quite bad, there is an explanation below of what happened.

The problem is the Maxar (airbus) satellite was up about this high and at this angle when it took the photos ... so it missed whole sides of the mountains, Maxar then attempt to fill in the gaps by stretching the pixels together.
I let Jorg know 4 weeks before launch of WUNZ but nothing could really be done. He did go back to Maxar and query the quality. But its sometimes because were down this end of the globe and the Airbus satellite does not orbit close enough for a top down view.
Anyways, there is a full disclosure technical break down of the lengths technology is working here."

I've now told them that it's not just about the steep slopes, but also about the mountain peaks. The textures have pretty ugly zebra stripes.

  2. I have the same problem and have already written to NZA with pictures. However, I am not satisfied with their answer:

    "Hi Michael,

NZA Simulations Milford Sound Region had extensive work done around the surrounding mountains to fix the stock satellite Maxar imagery that was taken on an angle. This caused stretched spaghetti imagery in the area. The new texturing was put over the top of these effected areas.

In you photos if you rotate the camera around the left 90 degrees and move up the fjord you with NZA NZMF removed you will see what I'm talking about.

    Cheers

    NZA Support Team"
