  1. Problem solved and all is well. Evidently OC did not handle this installation properly, or perhaps, my placing in an external Orbx folder did not work, even though I have most of my other Orbx files there. Anyway, I uninstalled and reinstalled it in the Orbx p3d default folder... I suggest mods delete this and its companion post. Sherm
  2. I bought KJAC at the same time I bought Ksez...both downloaded and installed through OC. Trees on tarmac reported in a separate post. Now, looking at KJAC for the first time, no trees....but, no buildings, no nothing, just the RW... This is in P3D V5... is this scenery perhaps not compatible with V5? Thanks for help Sherm
  3. I purchased and installed Sedona this morning for my p3dV5.1 hf2...and as image shows, trees are on the tarmac...I set configuration in OC for NALC, but it did not help. Thanks Sherm
  4. To Kodiak73 and everyone, most of us here understand that like it or not, aging is part of a natural process. We all try to make the best of it, knowing with full certainty that we will not last forever. I am not a religious person, but I do believe this: I do not know if an afterlife exists. But I do know that if I take care of this one, anything after will take care of itself. sherm
  5. 80 but keep thinking I am still 17.... but, don't we all?
  6. If you water looks "bland", my guess is the fault lies with your setup, not the software itself. IMO, this is hardly bland Sherm
  7. There are many flightsim forums where posters can offer critiques, reviews, etc of products, pay and freeware Sherm
  8. Same as Nick…both eyes, one for distance the other for reading. Unfortunately, I have some muscle weakness in one eye for reading, which often tries to shut down. I have been prescribed prism lenses, which do not always solve the problem. But, to get back to the surgery, very easy, no pain, quick recovery and my distance vision is perfect. As for close up reading it varies day by day. Today for example, I feel my left eye lid trying to close while working close up on my IPad, as I am doing now. But, it is more annoying than a handicap. Resting my eyes for a few minutes usually brings things back to normal, at least for a while. Fortunately, this has never been an issue on my PC monitor, especially when simming. sherm
  9. Every now and then I will get a similar random startup inquiry box about scenery already installed. I simply click YES and go about my merry way. AFAIK, this is just a random quirk of P3D. If I am wrong someone here will set the record straight. sherm
  10. Thanks Larry, I did find it...but, we are getting ready for a short trip, leaving today....so I wil have to put this off until we get back... Sherm
  11. A slight problem. I do not have an Extras folder with the PNW folder stored in my Orbx library. Maybe I should verify or reinstall PNW ferries? sherm
  12. Where can I find this as mentioned by Larry R in this thread. Thanks Orbx Global Wave Effects Sherm
  13. No, there is no DC3 in the MSFS hanger according to our pilots who use the sim for other flights. sherm
  14. The view I saw was generated with ACTIVE SKY. It was seen only by me because I was in just the right spot to see the bolt and quick enough to hit the V screenshot key. sherm
  15. Evidently, the Mods did not like a recent screen shot of lightening at night, because no Orbx scenery could be seen. I think this shot will be more satisfactory. It was taken in a group flight with my VA www.dc3airways.net Sherm
  16. DC3 AIRWAYS ANNOUNCES ITS 2021 WORLD RALLY The DCA World Rally begins on Saturday October 16, 2021. It is open to all flight sim enthusiasts. DC3 Airways membership is NOT a requirement. Unfortunately, because MSFS2020 does not yet have a flyable DC3 or C-47 aircraft in its hangar, sim pilots will not be able to use that platform. However, flight descriptions and start up files are included for the other major sims including P3D, X-Plane and FSX. The schedule consists of ten flights from around the world, to be flown in a DC3/C-47. The rally will be spread over thirty days giving pilots a three day time frame in which to complete each flight and file their pirep. More details on when each flight may be flown are given in the World Rally Rules section, which can be found at https://dc3airways.net/wr. The vast majority of navigation is via NDB and VOR navaids, but there is also a considerable amount of navigation by dead reckoning. The goal is to have fun flying a DC3/C-47. But to add more challenge, each flight has a calculated flight time that can be reached using the correct average climb, cruise, descent and approach speed. Some flights are more challenging by the inclusion of specific weather settings. Adverse winds and weather are an ever present danger of this form of navigation, but help is at hand thanks to the venerable E6-B calculator. Professional pilots are well aware of this wonderful tool and how best to use it. If you don't already possess an E6-B, a freeware electronic version is available on the internet and DCA is providing a link to this valuable utility. If you are serious about navigation, take time to learn how to use this tool and your navigational accuracy will be extremely rewarding. All flight descriptions are prepared in both MS Word and PDF format. Useful jpg images will also be provided to assist pilots with their pre-flight planning. Pilots may of course use the flight descriptions as a guide to create your own flight plan, if desired. If you do not have MS Word, Libre Office Open Source software is an excellent free substitute. https://www.libreoffice.org The DCA website Welcome Page presents self-explanatory buttons which will link you to the various pages of the World Rally 2021 web site. The first area you are advised to visit is the Rules page. If you are willing to abide by the few simple rules and wish to join us for the World Rally your next action is to register and enjoy! If after the rally you feel that you have enjoyed yourself, learned something new, or refreshed a few long forgotten skills, our aim will have amply been achieved. And, if you like the experience, please feel free to sign on as a pilot for DC3 Airways at dc3airways.net. Sherm
  17. Thanks, I did see that...also found settings in PAKT Config tool...but, it just changed rwy numbers. So, I have set up my own parking situation, and that will work fine. I asked a friend about Pakt and its sloped, lower level parking area and he told me that is how it actually is in real life. Interesting. Thanks. Sherm
  18. On the subject of PAKT for P3D, I bought and installed it yesterday. The installation cured trees and houses haning mid air from the installation of Tongass Fjiords. However, in the Airport selection area under the Navigation Tab, there are no parking spaces listed, only the RWY headings and Tower Controller. Is that really the best Orbx could do for PAKT. Otherwise, I am very happy with it, including the sloped raxiways to the raised surface of the tarmac anf runways. Sherm
  19. Hey Roger, Who knew?????HBD and stop counting... Sherm 662
  20. so very evocative...makes me want to bundle up just looking at these pix... Sherm
  21. I am late to this topic, glad I found it and hope Kmax still checks in. Envtex shows up at the top of files as listed by Lorby. Is that the correct position? great product BTW SHERM
  22. Hi John, I think this is sorted out, but I don’t know why. without KABQ, I installed a freeware set from flightsim. I got kabq back, but with terrain walls, obviously a terrain layer issue. Trying a couple of things without success I deleted the freeware and rebooted p3d. Bingo…. KABQ showed up as default scenery, no walls or terrain problems. who knows what lurks in the heart of P3D? Maybe The Shadow knows even if I don’t. but no matter… it all works ✌️ Sherm
