  1. The only one I have is a Pitts and wherever I fly it, it’s usually upside down…
  2. As a young kid it was Lego. I did enjoy the odd Airfix type kit too. The problem is that I've never grown up 🤪
  3. 1. Flying hunters to a camp in Alaska. Cessna 185 2. Flying 200 passengers from New York to London. 2x Concorde 3. Flying supplies to hill villages in Papua New Guinea. Cessna Caravan 4. Flying heavy cargo from Los Angeles to Tokyo. Boeing 747 5. Flying a medical team on a village hop in Kenya. Chinook 6. Flying tourists on sight-seeing tours in the islands of French Polynesia. Twin Otter 7. Flying local kids on a look-about over your home town. de Havilland Dragon Rapide
  4. Just got back from Turkey where it was a steady 40c. Saw one cloud all week and that was a little fluffy one over a mountain. Cooling breeze was nice. In evenings it didn’t get below 34c. Back in the UK and it’s low 20’s c. Layers of cloud, bit of rain. Not unpleasant. We had a warm June and it looks like August will be too.
  5. Burning Blue Design Little Gransden. It might not be the most advanced scenery out there but 30 years ago, as a spritely 17 year old, I did my first solo there. And they've done a good rendition.
  6. 1. Your first pet. Springer Spaniel called Dingo 2. Your first bicycle. Red one. Hand me down from my sister. I had a CHiPs outfit and made out I was Eric Estrada - it was awesome (not). 3. Your first girlfriend. Sarah 4. Your first real skill as a kid. I was a pretty handy cricketer and an awesome Space Lego builder. 5. Your first hero (real or fictional). Sir Viv Richards 6. Your favorite candy bar as a kid. Opel Fruits. WTF is Starburst all about? 7. Your best pal(s) as a kid. Mark and Rupert
  7. So much you can do with a smart phone but if you've managed without one then you probably don't "need" one. That you don't have one in this age I think is marvellous!
  8. Lego... I have thousands of £ worth of "grown up" Lego... From Colosseum to Millennium Falcon, driving things, flying things, roller coasters and everything in between. I try and get stuff that inspires my kids but they just nag me to build it then they break it to loud whoops. My office is covered in it. My wife shakes her head and tuts and says I have too much - but she will still buy me something for my birthday. Never grew out of Lego...
  9. The bit that makes decisions about spending money on flight sim add-ons. But then I'd have way fewer add-ons...
  10. Happy Birthday and special thanks for your awesome weekly topic.
  11. Parrot. That was an instinctive answer - they beautiful, intelligent and love human contact but on reflection a part of me doesn't like the idea of caging a parrot. Hmmm
  12. Whilst not an RAF pilot, my erstwhile RAF colleagues awarded me "Dingo" (I had an unruly Springer Spaniel) and "Pretty Boy" (I once wore a colourful tie in the Officer's Mess one evening). The second one came from an Air Commodore and stuck and I wasn't too chuffed but you learn very quickly to own it...
  13. I’m not frustrated by a lack of roadmap but just think it’s a shame there is so little engagement from the Orbx HQ peeps these days. You’re right that whenever a roadmap was published in the past some visitors to the forum considered the roadmap a done deal which may have caused frustration on the Orbx side. However, over the years there has been good engagement and now there isn’t and that is a shame. That’s my opinion but it’s for Orbx to run their business their way.
  14. It's a shame isn't it - since JV left there has been a real lack of interest with engaging with customers from Orbx HQ. There is the odd bit about a preview but nothing else. In previous years a good January post, heavily caveated with "don't hold us to this", would lay out plans for the year ahead but as you say - radio silence... Real shame. Screenshot competition prize going from a product to 100 Orbs shows a similar intent towards frequenters of this forum too.
  15. Ever heard of a woman cave? No, me neither - it’s having my man cave. Note to Roger, there might be the odd lady lurking round these parts!
  16. Any day of the week with a “y” in it works for me. It’s a great thread…
  17. Meet Douglas (Bader) and Flynn (Errol). Give them love, time and exercise (lots for a Boarder Collie), keep their brains active, give them rules, give them cuddles. Give them a commitment for their life. They will show unquestionable loyalty and love. Who doesn’t want someone always pleased to see you (even when Flynn literally gets under my feet and trips me up). Friends of ours (both doctors) were talking over getting a dog too - they were talking to the medical research that shows a furry friend lowers stress and adds to family mental health. Good luck and enjoy.
  18. I love this little airfield and it was my home when using P3D. I’d love for it to come to MSFS and would snap it up in a heartbeat. Great little pic series.
  19. Telling my kids terrible “dad jokes”. Frequenting this place (esp this thread).
