  1. Great! One question (maybe i missed it), what about the nice little airfields you created in this area for p3d (like kors)? Will they be ported over and is there already a timeframe for that? Regards Chris
  2. Looking very good. But may i ask about the jetways? Are they still static jetways? I know FTX is not very keen on SODE, but could you please make it easy to "delete" the static jetways in your scenery? Then everybody is able to easily include the moving SODE jetways from GSX2 who owns that product and wishes to use it. Thank you very much. Kind regards Chris
  3. I also had a CTD on the LOC DME East approach for Rw26 yesterday (actually it was an unrecoverable freeze of P3D). It was right on the LOC/GS around 14nm out. Here some specs: P3D 3.4 (most recent update) Majestic Dash 8Q400 (terrain display visible) real date/weather (april (SP)) - Active Sky 2016 I did not have the time to try the approach again and won't be able to test new files etc until the next weekend. I still wanted you to know, so you get a better picture. Please tell me if you need more infromation. Thanks and kind regards, chris
  4. I tried it in P3D. WIth most features turned off I get around 20 fps (with the NGX), not good but ok. However at night, i lose another 5-6 frames depending on where i am looking. I hope it can be enhanced at some point even more.

  6. Thanks for the update. But please keep an option to (easily) temporarily disable regions (maybe all regions if there is only one left now, but keep eg airports and LC). For example yesterday, we fly into KSFO from EGLL and both KSFO and NCA would just have cost too many frames, so I disabled NCA for that flight. And no, turning down LOD or details is no option for me. For me it's quite simple. VFR = FTX (regions) yeah, IFR = FTX no (besides Global, LC and the trees).

  8. Looks very nice. Will it include the distinctive sloped runway as can be seen in this video: I just wish the wonderful airports would be a little bit bigger with regular service for the wonderful Dash 8 Q400. This is Dash 8-100 land and unfortunately there is no good one for FSX/P3D...

  10. Well, I don't think he meant pitch but rate of descent. And this is indeed a very common an great method to stay on the glide slope. Too high, just lower the throttle slightly, too low, just add a little bit of power. Pitch on the other hand controls speed.Btw, the dash is certainly a power on aircraft on landing. I even saw a video of a Baltic crew adding a little bit of power just before landing to soften the often quite stiff landing of dash, something she is very famous for.
  11. Hi, i bought Australia comple SP3 years ago (on September 20th 2009 to be precise). I haven't flown there in recent times, but now that we have YSSY i wanted to start all over again. SInce i have switched to P3D i re-downloaded the newest Australia files (SP4) from FSS. But i noticed that there seems to be no Coffs Harbour included anymore. If i remember correctly, YCFS was provided as a bonus at the time for SP3 buyers and was automatically installed parallel to SP3. Are there any possibilities to get an individual copy of YCFS (P3D) for me or a download of SP4 with Coffs included again? Thanks in advance for your help. regards, chris

  13. Btw (i hope to be allowed to post this here, otherwise please delete but i think this makes a beautiful combination and is good for both). Somebody is developing a scenery for BIIS.   18. I said this before. I think it would be better to develop airports that suit both VFR/GA-Flyers and bigger IFR/Jet/Turboprop-flyers (KJAC for instance was the perfect example). The grass-strips surely look nice, but a large portion oft the flight simulation community is going to ignore it, including me. I'm not talking about the big Mega-Hubs but regional, smaller airports that have a busy GA-traffic and also handle bigger airplanes up to a 737 or A320 (let's face it, these are the planes used by most simmers). Since many simmers want to fly realistic routes i would even consider airports that not only can handle small to big(ger) planes, but also are regurlarly severd by popular airlines. In the UK i know that many are already covered by UK2000, with some exceptions like Inverness, Prestwick or Aberdeen (just have a look at EZY, RYR or BEE Route Maps).

  20. Good Morning fellow simmers, maybe this is a crazy idea, but i still give it a shot.... Can there be enough high-quality FSX-sceneries - of course not! I know from myself and a few others that there are still so many wonderful airports missing in FSX and we would love to do them ourselves, but the barrier of scenery design for beginners seems just too high. There are numerous online threads about it (eg fsdeveloper) explaning different parts of designing with many, many different tools. But, IMO, what a scenery-designer-noob would need is an explanation and step-by-step-guidance for his first project right from the start and all the way to the finish line. So here comes ORBX in, a company that has gathered some of the best scenery designers in the world - how about ORBX would organize an online course on scenery design? Here is what it COULD look like: 1.) 10-15 dedicated FSX-simmers come together and work at the same time at their own individual (small) airport. They meet on a regular schedule (maybe once every 2 weeks or even month) online to discuss the next steps (1. ground poly 2. AFCAD 3. object design and placement 4. ...) and their progress. They are roughly on the same design-schedule and are working with the same tools. They assist each other and are beta testers for each other. 2.) Maybe 3-4 ORBX designers that do the course outline, take turns in joining the group in their meetings to explain the next step (maybe a small presentation) and review the last one - maybe each of these 3-4 ORBX designers could be assigned a few group members to be their "personal advisor" for questions and help in between the meetings. So, why should/could ORBX do this? Well, first of all, more sceneries equals a wider customer stem - "oh, i always wanted this airport". Maybe the quality of our projects would be high enough to actually sell them (in bundles?). Maybe group members turn into futur "home-grown" ORBX-designers But most of all, simming is our all hobby and we dedicate al lot of time for it already. New sceneries would certainly strengthen the community as a whole. Of course, such a course would mean quite a lot of time effort (and most certainly also frustration) - for both the group members and the ORBX teachers - but Im sure the dynamic of spreading your knolwedge and learning and seeing the result is well worth the time and effort (as a future high school teacher myself i know what i'm talking about) OK, so simmers who always wanted to build their own airport let me hear you - ORBX desginers, let me know if this idea is just nuts - JV, as the ORBX CEO maybe you could speak from the company perspective! Ok, after hours of testing, moving files around and disable/enable them, it seems as i have found the malefactor: FTX_SAK_objects_eastern_turf_2_PLC.bgl (says it was modified 18.03.2013, Size 39kb) Whenever this specific file is activated I get the ntdll.dll CTD in the above mentioned area. So Holger, can you enlighten me what this file is doing in this area? What am I missing when i disable it? I just flew another test flight with my (beloved) B17 PAHN-PAGS through the complete "Keep-out-zone" and didn't notice anything unusual (besides the wonderful landscape!)... I will do some more test flights with other aircrafts during the next days and will report back again. But at least, for now it seems to work.
