Holger mentioned that custom objects setting is based in the Render Scaling option, which you do not show

    Hi there,

actually, MSFS uses a LOD (Level of Detail) system, which allows almost infinite draw distances for custom objects, except they lose detail with increasing distance from the user aircraft.

The user can influence the maximum distance of display with the graphic settings, I believe for custom objects it's primarily the render scaling option. Obviously, your system needs to be able to handle your desired settings.

Here's what I'm seeing from about the same position in your first or second screenshot. All of the custom buildings of Dubai are already showing.

There was no change with draw distance of downtown buildings when render scaling I changed from 100 to 200.

This ruins the immersion. Captured LOC and descending on the glide. Where is downtown? Why am I feeling I am flying in FSX when MSFS default draws objects in the distance, I know there is a downtown there.

This is very disappointing and if there is nothing to fix the distance objects are drawn I would like a refund of the cityscapes and will not be purchasing them again.

    Hello,

I would guess that you are far enough away to be outside the range of the buildings display,

which is about 17 nm, but massively over zoomed in.

I can see default downtown buildings but not highly detailed, at same distance. Why do I see nothing until that close with cityscape? It takes away immersion when I approach a city with the cityscape scenery and its tall buildings do not exist until I am very close. This is not P3D I do not have bad performance and a vas limit and other limits of an old engine?

My sliders for LOD are full to the right at 400. Graphics are Max setting. Why do I not see buildings at the long distance as you?

  4. I opened the support site through the central app. Click sign in. Nothing happens. Click Submit a request. nothing happens.

I purchased 2 Cityscape sceneries for MSFS on sale and am not happy with them. How can you set the draw radius to less than 10 miles? Do you not know that when approaching an airport you want to see the city farther out than 10 miles from the buildings? Approaching Dubai it is a flat desert until I am descending on the glideslope. This looks horrible and I feel I wasted my money on the cityscape. How can I have the draw distance increased?

Those gates cannot be activated as there would be problems with AI aircraft overlapping their wings when parked. The number of parking spots have been activated to make use of as many as possible without clashes.

The P3D AI engine cannot handle multiple parking spots on one area of the apron as would be the case in the real world. Compromises have to be made when laying out the parking at busy airports.

If you have no interest in AI traffic, it is possible to add parking at these spots using Airport Design Editor.

If you want to avoid that situation I think you can code the parking spots you do not want AI traffic to be with a generic code XXX or ZZZ that will make AI spawn last in those spots after all others are filled and allows people like myself to have access to other gates :)

  6. I use p3d5hf1 but get it on all previous versions I can remember installing. P3D hangs on exit if I start or end a flight in YMML v3. Australia region installed. YMML config tool checked box for Aus compatibility. Default F-35 or any aircraft load at YMML. Fly or quit and sim hangs on exit. Taking longer to close and a prepar3d.cfg.txt and dxdiag.txt file are created in %appdata

I did a reinstall and YMML is default except ground handling and people turned off.

Hi Nick, I've narrowed it down to conflict with Orbx openLC Europe.  When I disabled openLC EU, and enabled either or both North and South Germany, the load times are normal (full load sequence is about 2.5 minutes first time) and there are no issues with OOM conditions.  The moment I've turned the openLC EU "on" (with either North or South Germany still turned on), I got veeeeeery long load time (I had to kill at at 17% as it wasn't moving for 10 mins, even though CPU was 100% utilization, although 0% for the disk utilization!).

So there you go, it is something between openLC EU and these Germany packs.  As they overlap the same map area, I wonder if there are compat issues.

I also have Mega Airport Frankfurt, enabling or disabling it made no difference to the above experiment.

    Next Steps?

remove EDDF bgls in Orbx Germany South and all other addon airports with scenery

    uncheck bathemetry p3d option

    Hi there,

aside from the fact that we don't support mixing&matching that file isn't interchangeable with anything in Global Vector because it's limited to southeastern England whereas the Vector water/shoreline file for QMID7 48x13 also includes a good chunk of Belgium and France.

    Cheers, Holger

That file fixes the stuttering for FTX England users so I just hoped Vector users could have it ported over. I'll live with the stuttering until i can afford FTX England.

    Hi there,

sorry, surf effects by themselves cannot be excluded, only the shoreline vectors to which they are attached.

    Cheers, Holger

I read that cvx_FTX_EU_ENG_water_4813.bgl for those that have FTX England does not have stuttering can I have this file I have no Europe FTX regions.

    Hello,

Thanks to Holger Sandmann here is a "hotfix".

This will solve the stutters at Clacton but will also remove the Vector surf effects.

Either: Move your special effects slider to zero

or: Please go to ORBX\Scripts\unified\regions and back up terrain_global_v.cfg.

Then copy the attached version into its place.

Run FTX Central and wait for it to Activate Orbx scenery.

    terrain_global_v.cfg

Is there a patch that fix the stutters near CLN without removing the surf effects?

  11. BIKP and BISI have scenery from OpenLC Europe. I ran the AEC auto config scan but it did not find these airports, and the airports are not in the list to disable. I had to manually search for the 2 bgl files for each airport in FTX_Vector_Apt scenery folder

BITN is not disabled by the scanner but can be typed in the manual configuration screen to disable
