  1. JF Curtiss C-46 leaving Orbx Edinburgh. Like driving a bus, but enjoyable at the same time. Nice weight on the sticks & the FDE has been curated for the size & performance characteristics of this bemouth. One of those aircraft that grows on you. TTM (P3D v5.3 HF2)
  2. I think Carlos, PNG refers to Papua New Guinea, not PMDG. TTM
  3. Got on the wrong bus & missed this. I think what pleased me most in the announcement were the words: "(stay tuned re Fokker as we will be releasing an update with fixes and new functionality)" That Orbx has the inclination & ability to fine tune the Fokker bodes well for other aircraft they are contemplating. Due to the variety & vagaries of flight simmers hardware & software configurations, I have yet to see an aircraft released in any Sim, that does not require, & benefit from, subsequent updates. As to the multitude of planned airport releases, to cherry pick for the sake of brevity, Invercargill caught my eye. With 3 runways, the longest being 7,257', it lends itself to a wide variety of aircraft & its location at the bottom of the South Island presents itself as a good jumping off place to tour rolling Southland farming country & Fiordland. The 2nd promo shot shows it will not be lacking in atmosphere. Anything Tim & Ken touch turns out to be unique. Launceston will be another to watch, & Scandinavia has always been a favorite destination. But the deeper foray into aircraft has caught my attention. I wonder if there is a DC-3 in there somewhere? TTM
  4. I really should read this Forum more often. Belated congratulations Marcus. Creative Director! Hmm Corporate jet. Photo shoots in the Bahamas! TTM
  5. Australian companies. Australian Monday. Downloads are available now. Thank you AH for your generosity & Orbx for providing the channel for that generosity. TTM
  6. Are those exhaust flames? Occur in real life, or is the mixture on the rich side? TTM
  7. According to AH Facebook, Monday 7th February should be when their giveaways appear on Orbx. TTM
  8. Thank you Gentlemen. Even has nice wake spray while traveling on water. TTM
  9. It has its own character Bernd. Won't break the Bank TTM
  10. Back to Australia to fly the float version of the Fokker. This one is called 'Friendship' & I had a Custom Start at 1,500' off the Gold Coast with Live Weather & found I was heading for a tropical downpour. Sharp turn left & I sought the safety of an inland waterway. Whoever did the sounds on this one got the noise made by the metal floats hitting the water bang on. Sounds just like an empty 44 gallon drum being hit with a brick - very realistic! Like the other variants, the float plane is a delight to fly. TTM (MSFS)
  11. As a nod to the Fokker Project Art Director, Marcus Nyberg, I forsook the baked red earth of Australia for somewhere with snow, & chose his Bromma. Using SoFly I dialed some snow in, but it appears they heat the runway at Bromma so I had to swerve left [quite hard to do in a tail dragger skid set up], & grabbed some snow besides the runway for a departure run, then did a few circuits to admire the signwriting on Josephine Ford. Fokker was not shy about advertising! The external sound reminded me of something & then I realized it harked back to when I was running an OS FS-60 10cc 4 stroke motor. It has that same familiar gold fish gulping valve sound. USD14.99, say $15, for 5 distinct variants works out to $3 an aircraft - a bargain! TTM (MSFS)
  12. I finally found time to take one of the Fokkers out for a fly. This is the 3 motor Southern Cross, (SC), 'old school' cockpit, which I prefer. C of G location is critical as regards flight behavior & I left it where MSFS Scenario set up had it. Well forward. This substantially reduced any wallowing behavior. Also, I read on another forum that there is a manual, [4 in fact], & if you wend your way to: /Official/OneStore/microsoft-aircraft-fokker-vii/Resources/Documentation you will be rewarded with well illustrated manuals to assist your understanding of the aircraft. It is also interesting to see who was involved in the project. That said, I found the SC pleasant to fly & it looks & feels 'Vintage" in character, & I am still stunned that an aircraft with a wing like an ultra thick ironing board actually flies. The SC was rather sprightly departing terra firma & I am not sure if that is how the real one behaved, or if this SC has had a few steroids. I have flown the single engined version & IMHO, it needs a few steroids. Despite initial quibbles in some early reviews, I feel that the number of variants supplied and the texture modelling does provide value for money, & if a few kinks are ironed out, it will be a worthwhile Classic aircraft package. TTM (MSFS)
  13. True, there is an 'aftermarket market' over there for new aircraft , but I would be happier if the creators provided the refinements TTM
  14. Nice set. Perhaps you could re-shoot using the Fokker. Interested to see if the airport has changed after WU 7 TTM
  15. Post #24 is a relatively balanced review. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php/126503-Asobo-partnering-with-Orbx-on-Fokker-F-VII-Trimotor It looks like the single engine version is short on hp. I will find out later today, but I wonder if anyone at Orbx can advise whether the aircraft can be tweaked/updated for 'issues' by Orbx, or whether, because it is an MSFS Market Place Exclusive, it can't be adjusted by Orbx?? TTM
  16. Watch it yourself, but I doubt she will be on The Orbx Xmas card list this year. TTM
  17. Thanks Ed. TTM PS: By way of explanation - Orbx Central is stellar compared to some other D/L Managers. I have to remember to start MSFS NOT AS ADMINISTRATOR, to be able to purchase anything there. An idiosyncrasy & annoyance. Trimotor looks stunning in the promo shots.
  18. It is in the MSFS Marketplace but I would prefer to purchase it via Orbx. Any idea when it will be listed? TTM
  19. Delighted to see Essendon in the Australian sale. I'll mention the Sale in the Avsim Bargains forum TTM
  20. Concurrent with the release of World Update # 7 today, we should see an Orbx created Fokker Trimotor. Development appears to have been kept under wraps, so I am interested to deduce what has evolved & if historical liveries are included for an aircraft whose top view of the wing reminds me of a surfboard TTM
  21. Due to drop 1/31/2022, this should be an interesting one & from the YouTube previews I have watched it looks like Orbx has been heavily involved. If I was the Orbx Marketing Manager I would Flash Sale everything MSFS Australia as the region will be getting a lot of attention. & a belated welcome back to Jarrad Marshall as Head of Indies. I picked that up by stumbling into : Orbx.group As well as all sorts of material about the Company & its Executives & products, retired Accountants & Auditors with time on their hands can find a copy of the FY21 Annual Report to comb through, in the Investors section. Overall, a very informative web site. TTM
  22. Freeware Singapore Airlines landing at Arlanda on dusk. TTM (P3D v5.3 HF1)
  23. DC-2 in a distinctive livery. TTM (P3D v5.3 HF1)
