  1. Yes, but Orbx textures even without PBR look better than default P3D textures with PBR. I am having an issue with TE Florida and trying to figure out if it's me or something else. Perhaps Orbx can comment on whether or not they'll update Global, Landclass, Trees, HD buildings to PBR ... big project and small user base these days. Global and PMDG are working very well 50-60 FPS external and in VC with very high graphics settings and 44-51 FPS at very large 3rd party airports in PMDG. Be careful with Clouds at "Ultra", I run at "High". I also have OS GPU scheduling enabled, HT OFF as usual, but experiment with these might provide for a better (smoother) experience if one is having stutters: [JobScheduler] AffinityMask=255 P3DCoreAffinityMask=255 MainThreadScheduler=0 RenderThreadScheduler=7 FrameWorkerThreadScheduler=3 I can't find where these are listed in the .CHM but Jannie R. helped bring this to my attention ... they will appear in the Prepar3d.cfg after installation. Cheers, Rob.
  2. I'd recommend a complete wipe (uninstall from Add & Remove programs and then remove folders afterwards) and clean install. BAT file for complete wipe, example of what I use (yours will vary per install paths): rd "D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5" /s /q rd "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5" /s /q rd "C:\Users\Rob\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons" /s /q rd "C:\Users\Rob\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files" /s /q rd "C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5" /s /q rd "C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5" /s /q V5.3 is a step forward and performance is VERY good Cheers, Rob.
  3. Having a odd problem with FTX Central when installing the TE products, like Florida, Washington, Oregon ... after the download stage it enters into "Finalizing and Cleanup" and brings ALL other tasks to a halt as if the priority is set VERY high. Just opening file explorer window while FTX is running will take 3 minutes. Once the "Finalizing and Cleanup" completes everything returns to normal. Is there any thread priority setting happening during this "Finalizing and Cleanup" step? I'm running on an AMD 5950X Win10. I tried turning On/Off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling but that didn't make a difference (grasping at straws). Core usage shows only 3 cores operating during this process but they are often maxed out, other cores are doing nothing. I haven't tested this on my other PCs to see if it specific to my one main FS PC. Thought I'd just ask to see if anyone else has run into this issue? Cheers, Rob.
  4. Good question, I'm testing that out right now ... does anyone know if fx_obslight is an Orbx file? I'm getting hundreds of content error log messages saying: Failed to load visual effect "fx_obslight" Cheers, Rob.
  5. Is this a "one-off" with nVidia to showcase their GPUs? Or will nVidia be funding more projects in the future? Looks fantastic! Cheers, Rob.
  6. Interesting, I was at Tillamook Creamery about 2-3 weeks ago with my wife and mother-in-law ... I'll have to check this out ... the buildings in the 1st picture are accurate, but it suffers a purple shift. The 2nd image has no purple shift, but is missing the actual POI. Perhaps this is how Orbx addressed the "purple haze" and had to revert back to a different imagery base? Cheers, Rob.
