  1. Thanks for letting us know Ken. Sad news. We often flew together and even at that time he had health issues. Condolences to his wife and family. Rest in peace TeeCee. Norm
  2. MSFS/Asobo AU (WU7) update problem m8. Well, just didn't get fixed up from the onset. (Don't think Orbx did anything on the western side of AU). Tree overage is brutal all over the world and has been that way from the start. The sim indeed has a foliage problem, not even a few million lumberjacks can get the over-growth of trees under control! On a serious note, go into General Options > Trees > change it to LOW. Reduces some quality but the bigger bang for the buck is that it also reduces quantity which is greatly needed. nbrich1
  3. The best one so far was- Google Map link of all the Orbx airports/Freeware and Payware - Free's in RED, Pays marked in Blue. Orbx Freeware and Payware Combined: LINK: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=16TLldaoxxmFv7wOWfYyM8zV-bgM&hl=en_US&ll=45.23869167534743%2C-113.40962010167561&z=5 Don't know who created it or when it was last updated - but it is an actual working link! PS: Product Map link on the bottom of the OrbxDirect page has been 404 for a while. Any plans to update the map and fix the link?
  4. Did you add the 40 required Terrain entries in your terrain.cfg file and insertion points set correctly to force Tongass to be between the regions/airports and the openlc? (Or if you have Tongass as an xml - specify a layer line to force it there. For this scenery, specific scenery order does matter. (See Poppet's tutorial in avsim (applies to P3D version 3, 4 and 5.). 5. Aye nice video and screenshots. Well done. N
  6. Wonderful video. (I sincerely enjoy all your videos!). In this one, the sound! - There nothing quite like the C185 sound roaring around Misty land. Thanks Robert. Norm
  7. Very cool film and wonderful videography!!! Nice work Robert. Norm
  8. Great shots indeed and amazing set up. Could almost be a "Breitling" commercial! Film at 11 !! Well done on the liveries as well as the amazing presentation of photos!
  9. 10. Indeed jd: restart is a given but I was amiss in mentioning that!. Of course one MUST always restart the sim when you make any display change! (and if you're really sharp and want to keep the sim optimized when there is any display/graphics or add-on scenery type changes, also delete your shaders folder. (And if changing scenery pieces also best to delete both your shaders folder and your SceneryIndexes_x64 folder too.. (The sim will rebuild your shaders and SceneryIndexes_x64 folders/files as optimally required (according to the display/and scenery).
  11. No trick.. Just turn off (Untick) the Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation in P3D settings. (In P3D - Navigate to > Options > Graphics > World > then un-tick the box for Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation (at the bottom of the screen) then OK. And that should do it.
  12. Great video Robert!! Love the filming as well as that sound track!!! Sure is a tad tricky to land at Hang em HIGH!!! (Well landing is not the problem, it's stopping in time before you run out of that very short runway and trying not to hit those "men in kites" !!) Nice job in your C170 STOL!! lol. Norm
  13. Thank-you and great job Sir Robert for the very nice and thoughtful tribute to our comrade. RIP Spud. Norm
  14. We flew together for a bit with a few other guys. He always had lots of stories and experiences that he shared. One of the neatest facts as it would relate to his hobby of simming, is that he was a pilot in the US Navy, flew Douglas A-1 Skyraiders from carriers early on the Vietnam war then later Navy Helicopters. He sure could tell some war stories. He could also convey the aircraft specs from memory as he told us about some of his real piloting experiences. RIP my friend. Norm
  15. Great video and pics FSRobert. Norm
