  1. Enjoy old mate it's nice to catch up with the kids in RL and not on Skype..Teecee
  2. " Social Media and the Smart Phone have corrupted an entire generation" Every generation say the same thing.. "goodness, what is the world coming to?" be it the intro of the spinning jenny, or the steam engine or the motor car, but in our case I believe the computer, the smart phone or any of these small devices could well be the end of the intelligent use of our minds..currently communication on a smart phone consists of symbols, abbreviations, and pre set sentences.. in time, in my opinion, people will lose the ability to communicate properly, and will lose the ability to read and write... Teecee.
  3. Made a few of those as a littley, but never truly happy with the results..Last one I made was in The Alice for my eldest son (in the early seventies), a pricey thing with a fuel motor..Took it to the park to fly.. crashed and burned..Strangely neither he nor any of the others ever asked me to make another. Teecee.
  4. Anyone got a flight plan for all these POI's? Teecee.
  5. Phew!! thanks Nick. I thought I was getting that demmi thing..Teecee (I think)
  6. What?? we are not all on GMT??? now you are really confusing me..Teecee.
  7. Ken, that one really worked for me..(made a few mistakes typing this, I am still laughing) I did not figure the punch line until I actually read it (another part of being old I guess) Terry.
  8. Great cartoon Ken..me to a tee.. (apart from the running away) Teecee.
  9. " I am grateful for growing old because too many people have never had the chance to grow old " How true..We need to make the most of it for their sake.. Teecee.
  10. What else have we to brag about Roger?..Only the past.. I think it's the memories of the past that keeps us going.. and to be honest, I can't remember something I did yesterday or last weeks..but ask me about seventy years ago..Clear as a bell.. Teecee.
  11. "damn did I ever love that bike." Got right back on mine after 16 weeks in hospital. I looked at my shiny, fully repaired machine (still had a caliper on my leg), decided I could ride it OK, and ran into the side of a van..Sold it the next day.. Teecee.
  12. I will do that..The Vietnam war was a nasty, dirty one, and anyone that served and lived through it should be cared for forever in my opinion....Sadly the US Govt did not see it that way. Teecee.
  13. Nice to have those memories though isn't it..I never got more than a few hours flying RL, I could never afford it, but for all that, I still have those few hours stored away in my memory. Teecee.
  14. Come on you miserable B*ggers, that pom stuff died before we got old.. Teecee..(Born a Pom) .... but an Aussie now (got the papers to prove it) Living in the Good old US of A. Having got that off my chest, I just read this And I wonder if any of us will still be around when that happens..and we fly over RL scenery in real time. My guess and hope (owing to the way simming is developing and spreading) is that many of us will. Terry.
  15. Took a tumble from my Speed Twin at age 18.. a stupid old woman backed out from behind a hedge, and I was doing my usual speed (winding it out). I was on leave (embarkation) before we shipped for Nicosia.. Sixteen weeks in hospital and it probably saved my life as I came our with my right leg half an inch short and the army no longer wanted me.. Couple of the lads I trained a Catterick with didn't come home.. Teecee.
  16. I have not stepped on a Motorbike in many years..Ten years in fact, the last time was my son's 1100cc and it scared the **** out of me, it was then that I first realised I was getting old..Teecee.
  17. Probably the next step in home computers..voice control..or is that here already? Teecee.
  18. " The keyboard - how quaint! " Not a term I am familiar with..are you sure you really are an old coot?. Teecee.
  19. Nice post Roger.. I am lucky that at 80 I am still fairly fit physically.. I can still climb a ladder and walk my Alaskan Malamute, ( bred to pull, and he does) it's the memory and thinking processes that let me down.. it's the long seconds spent thinking "now why am I here", and "what was I going to do" that bother me, but all in all, I am very happy to be an "old codger". Terry.
  20. My guess is "if you FEEL old enough to be a member" you're in..Teecee.
  21. Welcome Bill. Great to see another ancient from WA.. Teecee.
  22. I have a co-pilot that does the same thing..only climbs on my knee when I am simming..the rest of the time she is typically aloof. Remember the old saying "Dogs have masters, cats have servants". Teecee.
  23. I feel for you Spud, and anyone going through this..I have never been without a canine pal.. and still remember them all fondly.. My best friend in the late nineties Zeus, a Rottweiler, he weighed 12 stone, a huge lad, he died of a heart attack, and I still have his picture at the side of my bed. Teecee.
