So if I purchase MSFS through Steam, will I still be able install Orbx products given that they aren't selling their products on Steam?

Suggest you read this that is in the first post on this thread.

To support the new platform, we will be releasing several products available at, or shortly after, launch. During the launch window, new products will be available for purchase at competitive pricing levels, ranging from US$7.99 to US$19.99 through both OrbxDirect and the Microsoft FlightSim Marketplace.

    Kind regards

    Stay safe

the statement is clear and correct.

As it absolutely clearly states, before you can run the simulator at all, you will need to have Microsoft Store application, in order to buy it

and the X Box Game Pass for PC application in order to run it on your PC.

To use either of those, you will need to have a Microsoft account and be signed into it.

You will also need an X box account.

None of this will be a problem for the Windows 10 user, who already has all this installed.

The only possible action that might be required is to sign into the Microsoft account.

There is no mention of X Box hardware at all.

I think you misunderstood the issue.

If you have another look at the screenshot in my post above, you can see it's from the opposite direction compared to your screenshot. Showing my aircraft parked at gate 8 by magically being able to look under the terminal building.

What does it look like in your case from the same position where I was when taking the screenshot?

As for SAM, I already have the latest version (2.0.1) installed and what you say goes against what is said in the SAM documentation as I recall it. New in the latest version is you should no longer have anything related to SAM in the Custom Scenery folder.

Will double-check that when I get home.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and deleted Sam Libraries from my Customs Scenery Folder. This resulted in me messing up my Airport installation.

Here is the developer instructions that I suggest you should follow.

    About This File

SAM is a native XP11 plugin offering different possibilities to scenery authors focused on animations.

A library with pre-animated objects like Jetways, VDGS, Marshaller, Hangars, Wind Turbines etc. is the starting point for developers to experiment with. You can either use these objects or create and animate your own.

The plugin  is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 which means it is free to use for all users and for all freeware sceneries. If you are a payware developer you can get a license for your project in our shop.

    Compatible OS

    Windows : 2.0.0+ compatible & supported
    Linux : 2.0.0+ compatible & supported
    Mac : 1.1.0 compatible | 2.0.1 in the works

Please read the install instructions in the manual carefully !

    Developer Information

Because of the new file structure the following additional step is required to show the library objects.

Option 1: Copy the SAM_Library folder from resources/plugins/SAM/lib into your custom scenery directory. Remember to do this after each update
Option 2: Use a LinkShell Junction to drop a static link to the SAM/lib folder into your custom directory (tutorial)

I also attach a screenshot  of the other side of gate 8.

    Kind regards

  4. Hi

Here is a screenshot of gate 8 on my system.

(I would point you to the plugin SAM  and the need to firstly place it in the plugins folder and then open it, copy the SAM Library folder and place this in the Custom Scenery folder.

Only by doing this will SAM work correctly.

    Kind regards

  5. Hi

    Install your products anywhere.

You can now choose where to install your Orbx products. With multiple installation libraries, we're giving you ultimate control.

In Prepar3D v4, this makes use of the add-on package system. If you re-install your simulator, you won't need to re-install your Orbx products again. We'll take care of everything.

In X-Plane 11, Central automatically creates and manages symbolic links, connecting your Custom Scenery directory to your Central Library.

Looking forward to this. I have been quite disappointed with TE south: the realism I expected is completely lacking. I know it's not photo-real but had hoped that at least major features in my home town would be recognisable. They are not.

How Photoreal do you want it ?.

I think your True Earth North is excellent value for money and anyone who moans about it should go and do better themselves! You have put an awful lot of work into it. There is just one minor thing (nothing really) but there is a quirk in the mesh terrain on the summit of Ben Nevis (I have attached an image. I am writing a flight for people who want to know more about the mountain and the surrounding area (which will be free) using the Aerolite and a fictional airstrip near Fort William. Just thought I woul let you know about the anomaly. Neil

PS. I said earlier about the amount of work Orbx have done well they have even placed the Mountain Rescue Hut in the valley just North of the mountain
