  1. The interesting thing about the flight sim community is I think I'm one of the younger people in it at 36. Usually I'm old for everything else I do, haha. -stefan
  2. Technically, Windows wasn't really a solo OS on its own at the time. It was just a gui (and set of libraries, etc) on top of DOS. So, you'd run Windows for whatever needed it, but quit out back to the command prompt to play Tie Fighter because you'd spent a couple weeks tweaking your config.sys and autoexec.bat to get those last few K of memory below 640k that you needed. -stefan
  3. I did have a TRS CoCo2 but I never had flightsim on it. All the talk of magnetic tape drives brings me back. I learned programming on that thing when I was a kid. I can't imagine I even remember how to write "Extended Color Basic" any more. -stefan
  4. My first flightsim PC was a 286, I think the CPU was something like 2/4/6mhz switchable via a software command (you had to use the lowest one to play Defender because it was a .com file and so didn't use timing at all), with a 20MB hard drive that we used Stacker 2.0 on. EGA graphics. Played MSFS 3.3 and Sublogic ATP on that so much. -stefan
  5. For a chair, I use this guy: http://smile.amazon.com/Vertagear-Racing-S-Line-SL2000-Ergonomic/dp/B012PTL1SI?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 Mine's an awesome pink color that they don't seem to sell anymore For rudder pedals or the like, if you don't want them to slip on a hardwood floor, buy one of these, cut it into 4 pieces, and put one piece under each corner. Works really well and saves some building! I also do this under my PFC Yoke to keep it from sliding around on the desk, and it works amazing! http://smile.amazon.com/Heininger-1065-CommuteMate-DashGrip/dp/B003A8D6YG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 -stefan
