The manual should now also be available in Orbx Central
  2. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central 3 and FSX-SE was marked as the answer
    Hi Pat,

Do you have FSX boxed installed on your PC?

If you didn't already have FSX boxed installed on your PC when you installed FSX-SE, Dovetail will create the registry entries at the original locations used by FSX boxed.

If this is the case for you, it means that the "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" in your screenshot is Steam Edition.
  3. Ben McClintock's post in New Library 160708 was marked as the answer
    Hi GrayRider,

I'd install the new library and FTX Central anyway. If you aren't currently experiencing any issues, the library will not have a detrimental effect.

After installing the libraries, try opening <sim>\ORBX\Troubleshooter\MigrationTroubleshooter.exe to verify that all of the files in your sim are correct.

If you see any red "missing files" errors, then go to FTX Central -> Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Force Migration. That should resolve all of the missing files.
  4. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central error regarding "restore.bat" was marked as the answer
    Hi Olli,

Occasionally this error pops up, but there is nothing to worry about. Simply restart FTX Central v2 and re-apply the group - then everything should work fine.
  5. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central say Flight Sim. is running and it is not! was marked as the answer
    Hi Spud,

If you check in task manager, do you see an fsx.exe running? If so, try and end the process and then FTXC should work fine.

  6. Ben McClintock's post in Switching active region silently in batch mode was marked as the answer
    Hi Reinhard,

Here are the major arguments available for FTX Central v2:
    /nogui
This will make FTX Central v2 terminate as soon as it has finished changing the group.
      /sim:<sim_name>
This chooses the simulator that the change will be applied to. At the moment, the available sim_name's are: fsx, p3dv1 and p3dv2. If you do not enter a name, then a dialog will appear asking you to choose a simulator (unless you only have 1 sim installed).

This command could also be useful if want to launch FTX Central v2 into a certain simulator mode without having the dialog box appear. (i.e. if you want a "FTXC (FSX)" or "FTXC (P3D)"  shortcut on your desktop.
      /apply:<group_name>
This will apply a group as soon as FTX Central v2 has started.

    The current group_name options are:
ftx_off (Default - don't use this if you have FTX Global),
    northamerica (North America),
    australia (Oceania),
    global_base (FTX Global),
global_hybrid (FTX Global with Hybrid Mode) and
    europe (Europe).
    Examples
    Start FTXC in P3Dv2 mode:
    "%localappdata%\Orbx\FTXCentral\FTXCentral.exe" /sim:p3dv2
Start FTXC in FSX mode, apply the North American group, then close:
    "%localappdata%\Orbx\FTXCentral\FTXCentral.exe" /sim:fsx /apply:northamerica /nogui
Start FTXC in P3Dv2 mode, apply FTX Global with hybrid, then close:
    "%localappdata%\Orbx\FTXCentral\FTXCentral.exe" /sim:p3dv2 /apply:global_hybrid /nogui
Let me know if you'd like any further information.
  7. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central v2 Sim Switching was marked as the answer
    Hi Sammy,

Sorry for the delayed reply, this one slipped past!

It looks like your FSX registry entry is not set correctly (for some reason). Could you please try running the following executable: "%localappdata%\Orbx\FTXCentral\RegistryFixTool.exe".

That should allow you to set the location of your FSX installation.
  8. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central Reporting Accuracy was marked as the answer
    Hi Doug,

You'll also need to delete the version text file for the product located in <simulator>\ORBX\User Documents\Versions.

openLC Europe should appear under "FTX Global", but you will need to install the 1.10 update before it will appear due to a small quirk in the system.
  9. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central 2 offline? was marked as the answer
    Hi Bill,

As spud has indicated above, you seem to be running an old version of FTX Central v2.

As you're running FTX Central v2 offline, you won't get the automatic update notification, so you'll need to install the update manually:

Download the .zip for the latest version. In this case, it's here: http://fullterrain.com/updates/ftxcentral/2.0.5714.43114.zip
Press the Windows key + R, paste the following in (including the quotation marks): "%localappdata%\Orbx\FTXCentral"
Copy/move the files from the zip you downloaded in step 1 to the directory that you opened in step 2. When it asks you to overwrite, click "yes".
Here's a quick video I made showing how to update FTX Central v2 without an internet connection: https://fullterrain.com/orbxstaff/Ben/2015-09-05_14-20-29.mp4

Although I'm using Windows 10, the steps are very similar for 7, 8 and 8.1.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask

  10. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central not showing installed products. was marked as the answer
    Hi Levertje,

If you install the 1.10 and 1.15 update for FTX Global openLC Europe, it should appear correctly.

Do you see FTX Trees HD under settings -> uncategorised?

  11. Ben McClintock's post in If newest Library already installed: re-install after adding airport? was marked as the answer
    Hi all,

Yes, if an older version of the Orbx Libs has been installed, FTX Central v2 will let you know (via the green bar at the top of the window).

The only scenarios where you need to manually download and install the libraries off the website are:
You want to have a local copy of the .zip. Your simulator computer does not have access to the internet. FTX Central v2 isn't working correctly (please let me know if this is the case!) FTX Central v2 says you are running the latest version, but you can confirm that you are not.
Hopefully this answers everyone's questions, if you would like anything clarified, feel free to ask.
  12. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central v2 - How do I get it was marked as the answer
    Hi Tom,

The primary way to get FTX Central v2 is via our Orbx Libraries, which you can download here: https://fullterrain.com/support#orbxlibs

Alternatively, you can download FTX Central v2 from here: https://fullterrain.com/updates/ftxcentral/ftxcentral2_setup.exe

  14. Ben McClintock's post in Error when opening "installed products" dialog was marked as the answer
    Hi Thierno,

    Welcome to Orbx!

To fix the error message that appears, can you please try deleting the following directory: %localappdata%\Orbx\Products?

To make FTX Global openLC Europe appear, please download the 1.10 and 1.15 updates for FTX Global openLC Europe.

Let me know if the steps above resolve your issues.
  15. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central V2 install error was marked as the answer

Please install .NET Framework v4.5 from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=30653
  16. Ben McClintock's post in FTX Central v2 (under XP) was marked as the answer
    Hi GW,

The FTX Central 2 installer will start automatically, but it won't be able to do anything and will fail, so you can just close the FTXC2 installer when it starts.

  17. Ben McClintock's post in FSX vs. Prepar3d2 startup selection gone was marked as the answer
    Hi Michael,

The registry key that FTX Central uses for FSX is located at:

    32-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\SetupPath
    64-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0\SetupPath
If it can't find the key there, please also ensure that there is a fsx.exe located in your FSX directory.

Let me know if that fixes it for you
  18. Ben McClintock's post in PNW and KHQM Not Shown - Insertion Display was marked as the answer
PNW and KHQM will not be shown, they are hidden and replaced with a single "FTX". I have about 30 regions and airports installed at the moment and I see a single entry too, so nothing to worry about:

  19. Ben McClintock's post in No Autogen Trees on KSEZ? was marked as the answer
    Hi Bryan,

    Welcome to Orbx!

Please ensure you select FTX Global inside FTX Central and then click "apply group". This will copy any changes to the autogen description file across to your simulator.

    Hi John,

Check out this thread here: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/96004-ftx-central-2-error-when-starting

This error usually occurs when the UIAutomationCore.dll file inside C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 has been removed or changed

When there is an update available for FTX Central v2, you will see a little notification similar to this:

  23. Ben McClintock's post in Scenery updates only per FTXC2 recognizable? was marked as the answer
That's a cool idea. Would require a persistent process/service to be running in the background though which some users may not like. I'll see if I can add it and make it optional.

Alex or Ed will probably answer this question better, but I believe that it is just a small hotfix which didn't warrant a full post.

Announcements will still be made for patches.
The 1.02 update for PAHO is a test so that we can see how well updates can be distributed using FTX Central only (but there might be an announcement soon, I'm not sure).
  24. Ben McClintock's post in 27 Errors when loading FTX Central 2 was marked as the answer
    Hi Andrew,

Please try deleting the following directory: %localappdata%\Orbx\Products. After that, FTX Central should re-build all of those files again

If that doesn't work, can you send me your orbx.log file? It can be found at %localappdata%\Orbx\orbx.log

    Thanks

  25. Ben McClintock's post in After changing the settings the apply of a new group is necessary was marked as the answer
    Hi Hans,

Settings are saved as soon as you check or uncheck the checkbox. No "save" button is required.

The user guide is telling you that to see the changes in tree textures and vector road lights, you will need to click the "apply group" button.
