  1. Hi all,

This is an unintended consequence of an old server that we shut down. The forums have been running at forum.orbxdirect.com since August 2021, but it seems that many, including our own website, still use the old orbxsystems.com/forum link.

    We'll reactivate the orbxsystems.com/forum -> forum.orbxdirect.com redirect ASAP.

    Sorry for the inconvenience here!

Maybe they will also wake up to the fact that invoices MUST include the amount of tax paid

In 12 years - I don't ever remember seeing an Australian Orbx invoice with the tax on - and on one I got

    on May 2nd - Receipt #1016-2726 - for an "Odd" amount - $41.58 -  didn't state  the tax either -

and now raises the question  ---- was I charged the tax twice - and will I get a credit for the extra $5 approx

    that I was over charged?

I'm not trying to be difficult - but I worry that Orbx - an Australian Company - I have great regards for -

were - or have been - breaking the Australian Tax  law due to an accounting error - due to the new International

Laws which came into effect on May1st. - closing the Internet problem of non taxing non residents

Incidentally - Microsoft also miss out the tax paid amount - when they invoice us in $$$ Australian - somebody should

advise them in a friendly way

To clarify the above for a non Aussie - Australian companies can claim a credit  for the  Sales tax on their purchases

Orbx receipts before the 1st of May contained the words "the total price includes GST for Australian customers." After the 1st of May, it contains a line item (similar to the rest of the world) that states the exact amount of GST. You can learn more on the ATO's Tax Invoices page.

The "Receipt #1016-2726" you received was not from Orbx. It was an automated email from our payment processor, Stripe. You would have also received an email from Orbx titled "your Orbx order receipt" that contains the tax information you're looking for.

Orbx has been paying GST (in AU) as required by law, and there are no changes to that. As of 1st May, everyone has an equal base price, with taxes from their respective countries charged at the checkout.

On the 3rd of May at 05:05Z, we lowered all of our Orbx prices by ~1/11th to equalise the base prices for all customers, so now everyone is the same! All customers will see the sales taxes explicitly on their tax invoice.

If you purchased an Orbx product between the 1st of May at 00:00Z (when the tax changes were introduced) and the 3rd of May at 05:05Z (when the prices were reduced ~1/11th), you should have already received a refund.

If you have any questions or further comments on this matter, please submit a support ticket.

A comment about the planes listed under Volanta Network, how do I know in which sim I can see these planes or are these never shown anywhere?

In other words, does Volanta inject traffic to the sim like all the other networks do?

Volanta doesn't inject traffic into the sim yet. It's designed to be used in conjunction with VATSIM, IVAO, PilotEdge instead of being a network of its own.

How about adding IVAO ATC COVERAGE as well?

We'll look into this. IVAO doesn't have easily accessible data available for their FIR/UIR boundaries (although we could pull this from WebEye). We'll get in touch with them.

Please count a landing/takeoff as a start of a new flight, or at least allow it to be split. For those doing hops or pattern work, it turns into quite the mess.

At the moment, flights are automatically ended shortly after you turn the engines off. I believe this would be more common than leaving the engines on when people are doing multiple hops? Either way, we can look into a better way to handle this.

This is even worse if you're doing landing challenges, as it logs as one aircraft even though you may have used different aircraft for different landing challenges.

Are you referring to the landing challenges in Microsoft Flight Simulator? If so, we need to do some more work in that area.

Are there any updates/indications when we might see Volanta - I can't wait to use it, I tried but haven't got in the Beta.

Very soon. We're inviting quite a few people every day, so it won't be long until everyone has access.

A question, as it links with your navigraph subscription, can you get all charts through Volanta, thus eliminating the need for the Navigraph Chart App?

The Navigraph integration allows you to see fixes, navaids, airways, etc in our map. You will still need the Navigraph Charts app to view the airport and procedure charts

  5. Hi all,

We're reading all of the feedback. We've been busy in development ;)

We have a few users in the beta - they're already keeping us quite busy with feedback. More randomly selected users are added every few days.

Once we're back in the office next year, we'll be adding far more people.

    1. Will you be able to import your old flights (even with some missing data) just to have a unified log book?

Not at this stage, but it's something we'll consider after release.

    2. I've seen some screenshots that show touchdown rate.

We already record airspeed, ambient wind, pitch, bank, heading and G force. Just not all are shown in the UI yet, but will note that down.

fleet should also show the icao where you left each aircraft for those of us that keep aircraft continuity and want to see at a glance where all your fleet is parked

Good point - we actually do store this data (and had it shown on the aircraft list in our original announcement). We'll make sure to add that back.

You can also see all of your aircraft locations on the map after clicking on Aircraft:

Orbx,  Please go through everything you have "improved" in the London package,  Be honest to yourself and remove updates that clearly aren't improvements.

Then Improve something that need improving??

In the initial post that you both replied to, the things you mention have already been acknowledged:

To that end we will take feedback on some the most highly sought after Landmarks and create higher definition models as a free upgrade, taking into account the sim performance at the same time

  8. To all in this topic:

We are working hard to resolve any remaining issues with Orbx Central. We'll provide an update topic soon with a list of the issues we currently know about and are working to fix.

@Dust2Dust, you said "Please don't. I spoke way too soon. Just discovered another serious issue which is way more serious than the other issues I was having. I'm going back to FTX Central."

Please tell us exactly what your issue was so we can fix it. We are 100% committed to fixing every issue.

They have the time and globally I think userd here are pretty patient, if you read my topic you’ll see that I’m just trying to help. What I don’t appreciate is the fact nobody from the dev team bothers reading or answering while some major flaws were discovered.

We do read every single post. Your issues are noted. We have two options: reply to every single post, or actually fix the issues ;)
