  1. Merry Christmas Nick and all!! Yes, they were 'unhosted' some years ago but that's water under the bridge and not worth going into... The photoreal base imagery for the airports is compiled with an image colour matched for each of the 5 seasons. What we need is a bgl that includes only one of them. That image should still be there in the source files for each project, so no assets need to be created (other than maybe a run through Photoshop to colour balance it to match TEGB)! As I recall, all that needs to happen then is that single summer image to be run through resample.exe to generate a single summer season bgl. A slightly bigger task to make it seamless would then be to update Orbx Central with a compatibility selector that switched the necessary bgl files on and off.
  2. Hi Nick, that does not preclude Orbx from compiling a version of the base airportPR that does NOT change, and therefore both blending in with the TEGB imagery as well as allowing for seasonal flying with its associated autogen. It isn't hard to do, and is something I think Orbx should do to make their own airports properly compatible with TEGB. In actual fact, Orbx hosted my own mods for a number of your airports when first released that accomplished compatibility with the now very old GenX UK photoscenery in exactly this way, so it's not like there isnt a precedent, and that wasn't even for compatibility with your own products! I really hope Orbx will consider patching those older airfields please?
  3. Thanks Nick, well its obvious the bottleneck there is that Titan RTX! :p The CPU could be better I agree, no detail on the mem timings or what the 48Tb is made up of. I would still expect that Andy should be able to see a performance increase. The 4790 is only a quad core CPU, with HT, maybe Andy can offer some more info on what AM he's using and which cores he has add-ons running on?
  4. @Christopher Low Its pretty much there, unless you've owned the ES version and scoured it for every detail most people probably won't even notice.. Performance is good, the new airfield is good, couple of niggles here and there but for under £4 its a bargain and a beautiful place to fly from. Short runway, have to make sure one's approach speed is slow enough, here's hoping the other Channel Islands get a redux version as well!
  5. What are your machine specs? I've noticed a significant performance increase... I'm now able to max all settings and maintain 30fps pretty much everywhere apart from London. Don't underestimate the significance of max lod radius in addition to hires ground textures. That absolutely wasnt possible maintaining 30fps before...
  6. Nice work getting this out, it looks great and recaptures the old ES feel very well. I hope you'll do the other channel Islands in the same vein, thankyou! (pics and video coming shortly)
  7. Thanks Mike, no I hadn't been aware of that update so I will search it out.
  8. Thanks Sascha, just noticed however, that while I have the trees back seemingly everywhere, I still don't see churches? :S
  9. This was just to get it working, I haven't started on errors and inaccuracies yet In all seriousness thank for your help...
  10. Thanks Nick, but I beg to differ, we've now established between us the reason for the problem, in terms of addon package layering. So we've co-operatively added a bit of info to the pool over and above what was there. Good spot finding the older thread though, thanks! All fixed, can mark this closed now...
  11. But does Lukla work ok? I've now moved my Orbx Libs to package 0 as you did with Lukla at package 35. I'll fly around that later to see if there are any glaring problems.
  12. @roland_lfor @Sascha Normann @Nick Cooper Aerosoft Lukla added back in and trees disappeared again - we have found a culprit! Fortunately both sceneries developed by the same person so shouldn't be too hard to identify if there's a fix for it or not. Can I have my membership of the Orbx beta team now please?
  13. Digital Designs EGGP is fine. Moving to next addon...
  14. I'm adding everything in one at a time to see what generates a conflict.
  15. Haven't got any France VFR sceneries installed (although do own some) Other addons I disabled were Aerosoft-Lukla - Mount Everest Extreme, and Digital Design EGGP
  16. I uninstalled Orbx Libs completely and ran P3D.. I still had no trees (obviously!) but also had no autogen buildings, apart from the 3dm models. This shows that P3D was reading the autogen files because the buildings were there. The problem appear limited to vegetation autogen, but only specific parts. When I reinstall Orbx Libs as package 35, I get my buildings back, but not the missing trees. With other competing addons that introduce autogen being disabled, I have both the buildings and the trees. I surmise there is a hierarchical issue concerning conflicting autogen tree definitions only. Root cause of the problem is an autogen conflict with another scenery, which entirely explains why some users experienced a problem and others don't. Simple solution as Roland identified is to either place Orbx Libs as package 0, or disable the autogen element to the competing scenery(s).
  17. From your link: The overall priority of the Autogen add-on component is governed by 2 factors: 1: The location of the add-on.cfg file in which it is installed: An add-on component defined in the Local add-on.cfg file will always have a higher priority than those defined in in the Roaming add-on.cfg file. An add-on component defined in the Roaming add-on.cfg file will always have a higher priority than those defined in in the ProgramData (Default) add-on.cfg file. 2: The corresponding package level within each add-on.cfg file: [Package.0] has a higher priority than [Package.1], and so on. Note: the scenery layer prioritisation system is separate and has no bearing the prioritisation of other category add-ons (including autogen). It appears that all Orbx library files list in ProgramData. if this information is correct, any addon introducing additional autogen through an addon.xml package, or being higher in the package list, could break TEGB, does that sound a reasonable conclusion?
  18. ok, so am I right in understanding that you did nothing apart from uninstall and reinstall the Orbx Libs? What was the other autogen addon? Does that one not work properly now?!
  19. Where was it before, and what was previously above it?
  20. Me neither, my post was a direct quote from Nicks link
  21. From the link: Integration Method 1: Add-on.xml package: An Add-on.xml package including an Add-on Component in with 'Category' set to 'Autogen', and 'Path' set to a folder which contains autogen definition files as described above. The path can be either absolute, or relative to the add-on.xml file location. The path must be to a folder, NOT a specific autogen xml file. The package can then be installed in 1 of 3 ways, corresponding to the location of the respective add-on.cfg file, Local, Roaming, or ProgramData (default): Local: Install the add-on package by running the appropriate P3D configuration command, e.g.: Prepar3D.exe "-Configure: Category=Add-on Package, Operation=Add, Title=REVX_LIGHTS, FileLocation=Local, Path=C:\MyAddons\REVX_LIGHTS" This will result in a corresponding add-on package entry in the 'Local' add-on.cfg file located at "...\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\add-ons.cfg". Roaming: Install the add-on package by either placing the add-on.xml file in a folder monitored by P3D for auto-discovery, or by running the appropriate P3D configuration command, e.g.: Prepar3D.exe "-Configure: Category=Add-on Package, Operation=Add, Title=REVX_LIGHTS, FileLocation=Roaming, Path=C:\MyAddons\REVX_LIGHTS" This will result in a corresponding add-on package entry in the 'Roaming' add-on.cfg file located at "...\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\add-ons.cfg". ProgramData (Default): Install the add-on package with either an add-on manager (e.g. Lorby-Si P4AO), or by running the appropriate P3D configuration command, e.g.: Prepar3D.exe "-Configure: Category=Add-on Package, Operation=Add, Title=REVX_LIGHTS, Path=C:\MyAddons\REVX_LIGHTS" This will result in a corresponding add-on package entry in the 'ProgramData' add-on.cfg located at "...\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\add-ons.cfg". I can see on my machine that: C:\Users\Kevin\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 does not have an add-ons.cfg file so nothing can have been added to it C:\Users\Kevin\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 does have an add-ons.cfg file with nothing Orbx related added to it C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 does have an add-ons.cfg file with the following Orbx non airport related entries:... [Package.10] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\Orbx Libraries Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Package.30] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\TrueEarth Great Britain South Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Package.31] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\TrueEarth Netherlands HD Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Package.33] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\TrueEarth Great Britain Central Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Package.34] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\TrueEarth Great Britain Libraries Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Package.35] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4\TrueEarth Great Britain North Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [DiscoveryPath.0] Path=C:\Users\Kevin\Orbx Library\p3dv4 Title=Orbx Main Library Active=true The overall priority of the Autogen add-on component is governed by 2 factors: 1: The location of the add-on.cfg file in which it is installed: An add-on component defined in the Local add-on.cfg file will always have a higher priority than those defined in in the Roaming add-on.cfg file. So it can be seen that the Orbx libraries will take precedence over the TE GB libraries. I will try reversing the order of the libraries to see if that makes a difference to me, and if not, I'll remove the TEGB entries from the programdata addons.cfg and create an addon.xml file to add TEGB into the roaming addons.cfg….
  22. No worries, it's not exactly the most critical problem on the planet, appreciate any input you or Sascha are able to make
  23. ok I take it TE GB adds additional autogen definitions over and obove the general Orbx ones?
