  1. Looks like we need a new photo. Here is a photo I took a few months ago. I'll post a slightly more obvious photo if nobody gets this one. Hint: It is not in Australia!
  2. Courcheval has a paved runway, so it isn't there. The vegetation gives a hint that it is in a warmer climate. If it is where I think it is, it is not currently a MSFS airport, so think P3D.
  3. Just for perspective, Orbx Central currently has 22 Australian airports, 6 cities, and The Great Barrier Reef available right now. So that's 29 Australian products released in the 31 months since MSFS was released. An average of almost one per month. Additionally, YBRK has been officially announced and there are posts that YMML and YHOT are in development. The poor Kiwis currently only have three airports and one city. South America only has four airports. Africa doesn't have any airports, just one city and the Okavango Delta. Don't get me wrong, I hope that all my Orbx Australian airports from P3D are eventually released for MSFS, along with lots of new ones too. I'm just a beta tester and don't know Orbx's plans, but based on the amount of scenery I've been testing, it seems to me that Orbx is working very hard to meet the incredible demand for scenery.
  4. I think this is the type of feedback Orbx is looking for. Both finding places where Orbx NZ Mesh is improving WU12, like adding Durville Island, as well as where it causes errors, like water up on the hillside at Milford Sound.
  5. If you have installed World Update 12 New Zealand, which I assume most people will do, I think Milford Sound looks best right now if you uninstall Orbx NZ Mesh. (That should remove both Orbx-mesh-new-zealand and z_airport-nzmf folders from the Community folder.) If you want to keep Orbx's NZ Mesh installed for another reason, I still recommend manually removing the z_airport-nzmf folder. That will fix issues at the airport. Removing the Orbx-mesh-new-zealand folder will remove the Orbx mesh from all of New Zealand. It also fixes the current water on the hillside at Milford Sound. Orbx is looking for your feedback on NZ Mesh issues with World Update 12 installed.
  6. Happy birthday Iain! All the best for your next year!!
  7. Just figured out the change myself! I usually check the forum every morning on my laptop and hadn't been getting through, so I thought there must be a problem or upgrade going on. The forum link at the bottom of the Orbx home page (orbxdirct.com) is still linked to the "old" forum address.
  8. Sorry it took so long, I just got home from some travel. Here are some shots of the current CowanSim 206B3 (v1.0.2). My monitor resolution is 1680x1050. The product page mentions a known issue, "When full sun and at certain angles pixilated shadows may appear." I do see this sometimes. At time 3-4 you can briefly see some pixilation on the instrument panel before it goes back to nice and sharp. 206B3 shadows.mp4 Overall, I'm really happy with the helicopter. BTW, here are my graphics setting. Not sure how much that is affecting the quality of my screenshots. Hope that helps!
  9. Sorry for the delay, I’m still on the road, but when I get home I’ll post some screenshots for you. If there are specific interior or exterior locations you want to see, post a screenshot of the default 407 and I’ll try to get a shot of the same spot in the 206B3. My MSFS graphics settings are pretty high, but my monitor is only 1650x1080, so my screenshots will be limited to that resolution, which is probably less than what sim can display if your monitor and settings are better than mine.
  10. Just for perspective, Orbx Central currently has 20 Australian airports, 6 cities, and Reefworld available. So that's 26 Australian products in the 29 months since MSFS was released. Almost one per month. The poor Kiwis currently only have two airports and one city. South America only has three airports. Don't get me wrong, I hope that all my Orbx Australian airports from P3D are eventually released for MSFS, along with lots of new ones too. I'm just a beta tester and don't know Orbx's plans, but based on the amount of scenery I've been testing, it seems to me that Orbx is working hard to meet the incredible demand for scenery.
  11. On my laptop right now. (No MSFS) Perhaps someone else will reply with screenshots before I get back to my gaming PC. Anything in particular you want a screenshot of? I know Orbx Central has the updated version because I can click on the headsets and they disappear.
  12. I picked up the CowanSim 206B3 in Orbx Central and am really enjoying it in MSFS. Looks really good in both 2D and VR, has a LOT of liveries, and is enjoyable to fly. Nice work CowanSim!
  13. First I'd double check that you've followed the instruction for when you have both YBBN and Landmarks Brisbane installed. IMPORTANT - README.pdf If you have Orbx Central installing your Orbx scenery into an external library (outside the default XP-11 Custom Scenery folder): - Be sure to delete the two indicated folders from the folder structure of your Orbx scenery library, not just the shortcuts to those folders in Custom Scenery. - Check that there are no shortcuts to the old folders in the default XP-11 Custom Scenery folder. - Make sure you have copied the new mesh folder "Orbx_B_Landmarks_jBrisbane_YBBN_Mesh" into the Custom Scenery folder. - Check your "scenery_packs.ini" (found in your XP-11 "Custom Scenery" folder) and make sure that "SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Orbx_B_Landmarks_Brisbane_YBBN_Mesh/" is below the entries for both YBBN Brisbane and Brisbane Landmarks. SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Orbx_A_YBBN_Brisbane/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Orbx_A_Brisbane_Landmarks/ SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Orbx_B_Landmarks_Brisbane_YBBN_Mesh/ Edit: I had previously done the above steps for XP-11 and the scenery is working for me. I just went through the same process with the XP12 version and I had to manually edit the scenery_packs.ini. XP-12 had placed the mesh entry SCENERY_PACK Custom Scenery/Orbx_B_Landmarks_Brisbane_YBBN_Mesh/ at the top of the list. I had to move it below the airport and city entries.
  14. Patience. As a beta tester I'm not allowed to talk about any airports I might have been testing in XP11 & XP12 lately.
  15. When MSFS first came out, it did such a poor job of recording landings that I just wrote the log book off as useless. I guess I'm not surprised to hear it isn't recording flight time correctly either. Personally, I've never really paid much attention to virtual log books in other sims, but it can still be interesting to see your number of landings, different airports, and flight time in each aircraft. I also know that some people do care about their virtual log books. A virtual log book isn't a new feature, so I'm surprised that ASOBO hasn't gotten it sorted out by now. I think John Dow's post is great. Ultimate realism is to make your own log book entries!
  16. I think that Andreas has done a great job on Bolzano. The textures and details really look great! I don't have other payware or freeware versions to compare it to, but it is certainly more detailed than the MSFS version.
  17. Yes. The Orbx P3D airports will work with the various TrueEarth areas. The FTX regions can also be install at the same time too. As long as the priorities are correct, they all play well together.
  18. I've driven by McCall's airport a bunch of times IRL and Milo has done a great job creating this scenery! The level of detail is excellent! It is a "must buy".
  19. I don't have a 777, but I fly the 787 into Courchevel all the time! LFLJ 787.mp4
  20. I can't speak for Orbx or the developer, but from what I've seen over the years, most flight sim scenery (not just Orbx's) tends to be a "snapshot in time". Scenery updates tend to address bugs, make improvements, or add compatibility with something. Off the top of my head, I can't think of an airport update that has included a whole new terminal or taxiway layout. It might have happened, I just can't think of any! I can imagine that changing something that wasn't broken could also be a touchy subject. For every person saying, "Yay! They added the new terminal!" , there would be one saying, " Hey, I liked the original version! That was how it looked back when I flew there IRL." or "When I bought the airport, the store screenshots showed "X" and now you have changed it to "Y"!" Heck, I'm conflicted in my own desires. I generally like airports to reflect reality, but there are also airports that I would prefer like they were when I flew from them IRL. Wouldn't it be great if there was a feature like Google Earth's timeline, where you could set the date and you would get the accurate scenery on that date? How cool would it be to dial back an airport like Biggin Hill through the decades or see the London cityscape change? Get to work devs!! Edit: Having said all that, it looks like Marcus Nyberg is currently working on an update for ESGG which includes changes for a new terminal and new hotel. So it can happen!
  21. Anthony's aircraft are great! I'm glad he has released his Tiger Moth for MSFS. I hope he also does the T-28 for MSFS. I loved his T-28s for FSX/P3D.
