  1. Hmmm.... I have all those checked and if I got an email about any Paris update it must have gotten stuck in my spam filter? This is the first I'm hearing of an update.
  2. Thanks, Ed. I really appreciate hearing this update. I'll try to be more patient. I'm sure it'll be great once updated.
  3. "Welcome to beautiful Bella Coola in Canada, a spectacular alpine location in the Pacific Fjords, >>now available<< for Microsoft Flight Simulator." I realize that surely was pasted from something written to be published once this is available, but I do find it ironic!!! Trying to me patient. I have no urgent need, just an eager desire for this airport. But can anyone in the know give an ETA?? Is this due any day? Few weeks? A few months? Is there perhaps just a few small hold ups? The images sure make it look about ready! Anyways. You have a customer here for sure once this is available!!
  4. It's all relative. There are add ons I've paid for, that weren't great and have never gotten an update (thinking the Kitfox). There are FREE add ons that issue fixes in hours of a problem with a new release and they are very good at communicating what's going on (Thinking Working Title). So there's a huge range of communication and speeds of updating on the MSFS platform. BUT I EXPECT MORE FROM Orbx BECAUSE THEY ARE GENERALLY SO GOOD. They are my preferred reseller. I make my criticisms in that context. Tough love if you will. The London issues were annoying, but understandable. I expected better the second time around and there's actually been LESS communication around the Paris situation. I still love you Orbx, but this has shaken my complete faith in excellent service. Ignore me or take my criticism to heart, but know I'm not the only one thinking this, I'm just saying it FOR Orbx'S BENEFIT. The lack of better communication about this DOES have consequences, it does hurt Orbx as a brand. Granted I say this in hopes it might eventually help Orbx's customers too, including myself. Could be a lot worse. Could be a lot better!!!
  5. I see a page for CYBD Bella Coola now, but a week since this announcement it's still not for sale? Anyone have any idea when I can buy this?? Is this an "Any day now" thing, or a "Check back in a few months from now", kind of thing. I don't want to check every weekend if it's going to be a few months. https://orbxdirect.com/product/cybd-msfs
  6. Two weeks since World Update 4 France and other than knowing the Paris City Pack is not compatible with WU4 and that someday a new version that is compatible will be released is still the only information that's been given about the situation? Or did I miss something? Seems like at the very least a basic first update with the conflicting buildings removed from the Paris City Pack could have been made by now? Nick, can you firmly nudge someone in the know to give some new information or just a basic ETA? I expected a period that there'd be an incompatibility, but I did expect at least more information about the status/eta of a fix by now.
  7. As far as I know there's been no update to the Paris City Pack since the France World Update. And no ETA of when one might be expected that I've found. Only an announcement that one will come at some indeterminant point. Considering the Paris Pack is incompatible with the latest MSFS version and yet it's still being sold without that being noted on the store pages, I think lack of an ETA and lack of a note of the current incompatible status on the pages selling the Paris Pack is bordering on "bad business". How many people have bought the Paris Pack since WU4 only to find that it's not currently usable with the exciting new France World Update? I don't understand how this situation is allowed to persist without better communication and without warnings/disclaimers all the places the Paris City Pack is sold, to be frank. Personally I bought the Paris City pack because it was on sale in the days before the France update and I did so knowing it would likely be incompatible for some period after the France update, BUT I expected better communication, a reasonably valid ETA for a fix and a fix in a week or two after the WU4. It's now been 2 weeks. I have no idea what the status is or when I can expect a fix. Disappointing.
  8. It's done all the time in the software/video game business and they did it with the London situation mere months ago. If anything I'd think they could make a more accurate estimate easier this time around. Really, it's just another missed opportunity for MS/Asobo and Orbx to have coordinated to have a update available when Asobo released their world update. or at least be able to give a good eta on the day of the WU release. The Paris City add on is for sale on the MSFS in sim Marketplace while it's incompatible with the latest and greatest big update for MSFS?? THAT is shooting yourself in the foot. I am certainly not accusing anyone of laziness or intentionally thwarting my enjoyment of Paris in MSFS. And it's hilarious you'd imply I was. How can anything be "delayed" if there's been no ETA? I have no complaints as to how London ended up. I don't doubt the Paris City Pack will work beautifully with the World Update in the end. While I think there's a missed opportunity to have worked together ahead of time to have an update to the add on available in the days after the world update if not at the same time, I can't complain much about that, only once again offer my suggestion and opinion. Software/game/sim development is what it is and sometimes things take time. My only real complaint is the communication around this. Rather than shutting down threads, having at least one open main thread on the subject, an ongoing conversation with people in the know, by someone in contact with the developers with the avid customers on here about this issue would be preferred.
  9. I understand that people get off topic, but I don't know why every thread on this subject is quickly locked to new comments. Until there's an update released this topic is not "complete" or "answered", it's only begun to be addressed. We've been through this with London and I'd expect it to be handled better the second time around. But there's even less communication about when an update will be released this time? My memory of the London plan was a first update to simply address conflicts asap, then a later release with additional new contents. And I seem to recall there being two version planned. A standalone version if not running the UK Update and another version if running the update. I never learned how the two versions would be handled for those who bought the London pack in the in sim marketplace? Thankfully I bought the Paris City Pack on Orbx. I seem to recall the first London update was made as soon as possible about a week after the UK update and a more comprehensive update with improvements and additions a few weeks after that? Will Paris get similar two stage updates? All I've gleaned is that yes, there are conflicts with the France Update and that a update addressing this will come at some point. More details would be appreciated. An ETA being the most salient.
  10. BC is a fantastic locale in MSFS, so lucky it's my home turf/airspace. But why is Victoria completely lacking add ons? A hand crafted Victoria airport and seaplane base and the seaplane terminal downtown all scream out for add ons! Especially now that CVYR and downtown have seaplane infrastructure thanks to FSim Studios. Just found out about CAK3 Delta Heritage Airpark and bought that. I had a free version that was better than nothing. But I'm not seeing CYBD Bella Coola on Orbx Central yet?? TAKE MY MONEY!!!!
  11. It's a missed opportunity on their (both companies) part. I understand they probably didn't finalize things until very recently, but sure seems like we could have at least had an announcement of this plan before today. If Asobo gave Orbx "beta" access to the UK update they would at least be able to get a good head start. And perhaps they would have to release an update a week from now to address Asobos last changes, but they could have at least had something to release today and could have announced this plan a week or a month ago. Again, all's well that ends well. I'm still a happy Orbx customer and trust they will continue to stand by their excellent products. I say what I do as hopefully helpful criticism for future improvements. Not pointing fingers and throwing blame around. I'm sure they had their reasons for this situation to be as it is. In the big picture I'm satisfied and can't wait to see how awesome London will look once Orbx has added their magic to the improvements Asobo has made.
  12. This is a little complex, but sounds like a great way to work with the situation. Thanks for retaining and building on the value of the original London City Pack. Pleasure doing business with you! My only real quibble is this wasn't unforeseen and if nothing else, it would have been ideal for Orbx and Asobo to have worked together so if the changes to the London Pack couldn't be made available at the time of the UK update, this news would have been ideal in the past week or so, not after the UK update was released. Again, minor quibble, suggestion for future improvement. I've always been happy with my Orbx purchases and I am very eager to see how you adapt and improve this product!
