Yeah, you make my worst MSFS impulse purchase look decent.

Gaya has been busy making airport after airport for Asobo. I personally want static aircraft as I don't want an empty airport, don't want VATSIM, and don't want an add-on to add aircraft. I also want airport interiors and do not purchase airports that do not have them. It's a new marketplace with a lot of us that are casuals. Learning to serve both markets takes time, but I agree with EasternT3: It is not for Orbx to force devs selling on their platform to make airports that conform to a vocal minorities' views on what options they should have.

Being worked on in 2022 is not the same as being released in 2022. And Orbx is busy working on the Asobo New Zealand World Update update.

You realize they closed the support forums here, right?

What about P3D, the more mature version of the Flight Sim franchise?
Good one!

I can't wait for the anger to erupt in certain forums over MSFT/Asobo using valuable developer time on this easter egg after they just gave us helicopters, gliders, classic aircraft, missions and a high-end A310 for free. And did I mention they've been giving us free aircraft, airports and scenery upgrades regularly since launch?

Still waiting for KBOI in P3D.
"Ryzen 7 3800 liquid cooled 4.65 ghz, XFX RX6800, 16 gb vram, 2 tb M2 drive, 32 gb ram, Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard P3Dv5.2HF1"
Your system more than meets the requirements for MSFS. There are now two KBOI for it. Don't expect much more to be produced for P3D. The world has moved on.

I followed an Orbx link on Facebook, advertising staff recommendations for Orbx scenery products. All were for MSFS, not a single P3D in the bunch. How sad that Orbx has evidently given up on our favored sim platform
Sherm
Did they give up on it, or did the market move on from it? Nearly two years into this revolution, it cannot be a surprise, nor unexpected.

I sure wish were entering the post-COVID era, instead of just starting it.
Great shots though.

I think I will not follow the carrot, because PMDG has hugely disappointed me once. Many years ago though, but sometimes I'm like an elephant.
Same here. I've had enough of Robert and company. And I'm too busy with the Boeing 247D at the moment anyway.

I agree, it's a stupid addition (for me).
Some people take this game too seriously (for me).

When I saw the title for this post, I though "Great! Let's go see what they did to the interiors of the airport." I realize interiors aren't important to some who buy airports just as some either want or don't want static planes at the airports, but to release a version 2 of an MSFS airport in 2022 and not do anything to the interiors is... surprising. I can't mention other people's products here and I respect that. But I recently saw a YT video for another airport that once again raised the bar for what is possible, and I am not just referring to the interiors. I'm not familiar with KBUR because I haven't bought it. But if you told me the screen shots above were from version 1, I would have believed you. I am sure a lot of hard work went into making version 2 -- I'm not denying that and I the only comment I have about charging for the upgrade is that I understand the need. Matteo doesn't work for free and I wouldn't be unhappy to pay $8 US for a worthwhile upgrade to an airport I've previously purchased. But nothing in what I see above suggests that v2 of KBUR is at the same level as other similarly priced (KBUR v1 + the v2 upgrade together are the same price as the next level airport I am not mentioning by name) airports that are next level and state of the art.

The "who is purchasing new scenery" metric is more important. And every scenery maker who has developed for all three platforms report the same thing. It has nothing to do with cost, but rather opportunity cost. The (FS) world has moved on....

Thanks for the link, I am sure that those who wish to watch the review will be able to find it.

Hello,
that seems to be what the reviewer said.
It does not seem "unfinished " to me at all.
For me, having had no time to read the documentation and with no
extensive knowledge of vintage aircraft, it is much too early to comment
one way or another.
And yet you commented defensively anyway. The reviewer knows what she is talking about and has been reviewing planes on YT for over a year. I'll take her word for it.

Is it Okay to ask about a patch for a broken release yet?
thought I better ask your permission.
On the flip side I'm not buying any products as Orbx can no longer be relied upon to fix/patch releases in good time.
Glad you asked.
Answer is: No.
Any more questions?
And stop calling a working release with a few minor issues "broken."

I don't understand the need for the constant updates. Its one of the things that me reluctant to step into MSFS.
You'd prefer that they don't fix things nor add new features like free airports and buildings. Gotcha!

Not only that, but Orbx will be bringing the Southern Cross aircraft to MSFS. As part of the Local Legend series, this will be a digital replica of the iconic aircraft that was famously piloted by Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith. It’s planned for the aircraft to release with missions and a manual; the aircraft will be made available on the same day as World Update VI, January 25th 2022.

If the static aircraft were contained in a folder called Orbx-airport-esgg-gothenburg-static, and if that was not present there would be no statics, would that allow someone who purchased in the MS Marketplace to manually remove that folder from their Community folder to achieve the same thing as Orbx Central allows?
Well they've done it AGAIN

No one has ever forced me to use Microsoft software. But having a clue (and a degree in IT as well as a career that spanned three decades in IT), I chose to use their software. No one on Earth ever did a better job with huge installation base software for hardware they did not control than Microsoft. You should be happy that they are releasing mandatory updates and you should realize that if it was half as shoddy as you seem to be indicating, they would have gone out of business decades ago. Bash them. They are an easy target as the most successful software company of all-time. But I'm not going to read all this bashing and tacitly agree with it by not responding. People who do bash their software and continue to use it confuse me. Microsoft is not a monopoly. They never were. If the alternatives are so much better, please use them.
