  1. Rockhampton is a perfect place to start a tour over the southern Great Barrier Reef islands. But first we had to come clear from the exploiting industry at East End Mine, ... ... Aldoga Mine, ... ... the huge deepwater harbour at Gladstone... ... and Tannum Sands. I do not know what this red lake is, have to check a guide book. However, just ahead of all this is Heron Island. No, Bernd with his yacht "Münster" was not here yet! So I went on to One Tree Island, ... ... Lady Musgrave Island... ... and Lady Elliott Island. That one looked so inviting, I had to stop there and go for a swim. But as I did not have an accomodation booked on the island, I went on towards the mainland at Burnett Heads... ... crossed the river of the same name... ... and reached Bundaberg. If I might get a drink there? Here´s the executed route of today.

  2. We have South Molle Island at our port side. When the weather holds, we should reach Hamilton Island in time for sundowners. Do go ahead, you are faster than we are We are about to enter the marina of Hamilton Island To back a large single screw ship into its assigned berth is a very tricky undertaking, but we have finally managed. Yet, compared with these Mega-Yachts, I feel so tiny. Let’s explore the island a bit. The building across the marina entrance is the Hamilton Island Yacht Club The restaurant is called “Bommie” Walking along Front Street, we pass by Bob’s bakery Here on Acacia Drive we have a nice view of neighboring Dent Island And tomorrow, our Mooney will bring us from Hamilton to Rockhampton

  3. After a very pleasant night on Hamilton Island, it’s off to Rockhampton Over Lindeman Islands Nat. Park with Mount Olden as its highest elevation Heading west towards the mainland Near St. Helens Beach we turn south Passing by Mt Sweetland and Mt Adder For a short while we follow the Yakapari Seaforth Road Passing by Mackay Harbour and the city of Mackay Below us is the Pioneer River Further south is the Rocky Dam Creek Past Carmila Beach Close to St Lawrence Creek Above Styx River with Herbert Creek in the distance We now use the Fitzroy River and its adjacent highway to bring us into Rockhampton On final into Rockhampton

  5. Thank you for sharing John, although it looks fun, I can envisage the bombardment of support requests. I really hope you don't receive any trouble for this

  6. Many thanks for the understanding messages I've seen here. I'm probably going to get in trouble for this but, if you want to blame someone, blame me. I argued we need to have one last build before release. As a tester I'm not paid but try and represent the community. Orbx listen and delay release if we are not happy. That's obviously nothing to do with finance - just if anyone wonders! There has been speculation but, here's what actually happened. I shouldn't report this but Terraforming has proved a bit of an issue at this airport. We thought we had the final release build but ended up with part of taxiway H being like this. Possibly a fix one thing, break another issue. bumpy.mp4 Great fun to taxi along and I'll miss it now it's rather flatter! Not an issue that was going to take too long to fix, but, didn't seem the way it should be and worth delaying by a couple of days. Hope you all enjoy the airport. BTW there are still some (less obvious) slopes if you want to go looking. First and last time I'll mention anything like this in public. All the best, John

  7. Whoaaaaaa! This is still going on?? Wow...Look I'm just as avid and anixious simmer as most of us for this title release, but something came up in the 9th hour and its just not ready. No one has prepaid for the scenery and it is not a life or death situation. If Orbx did release with all sorts of issues, the same would kick, you know what.... The scenery has some concerns and Orbx is doing what needs to be done. I'm sorry in advance if my views are different but Orbx has severed me well over all three sims. I have plently to enjoy and once Prague is ready, it will be added unto the same. We just need to be patient and hope for the best.

  8. I do get your point, for the balance of fairness, Orbx announced LKPR on the 29th Jan, and WU7 released on the 31st, we don't know what the showstopper is, but for example WU7 could have caused a CTD when loading in LKPR, or something else in WU7 could have caused the issue, now you can argue in this case, that they shouldn't have announced until they tested with WU7 but then (my background is Project Management/Scheduling) if Orbx runs SRAs/What If scenarios, then the chances of issues stemming from WU's would be quiet low because I haven't seen it being mentioned before, and on the history of MSFS, only SU's seemed to have caused development issues, so if I was the PM I would have been happy announcing LKPR on the 29th Another point is, these threads tend to launch within 2 weeks of launch, we're only a week into the thread, in could be resonable that Orbx could think that they could have found the issue, fixed it and tested before the period was up...I'm not trying to make excesses, and yes maybe they should have said something but then you'll know from experience things are always more dynamic than what it seems

  9. Lots of little bugs cropped up, I'm sure you understand they need to be corrected, then tested, sometimes the fix introduces another bug, that needs to be corrected, then tested. And so on, until it's ready for release.

  11. Last weekend we had a blizzard here, first one in four years. While the snow was falling, accumulating quickly, and the wind blowing, and the temperature around +10, Chessie INSISTED he had to go out! We have a large screened porch (about 18' x30') where he is allowed. Well, on this occasion there was something that required his immediate attention. So out he went, ran the 30 feet to the north end in about five seconds, and returned to the door to be let in in another five seconds. Ken

  13. With all due respect Tomas, DaRadicalCavy actually posted on reflection some good points, whereas you've just said, when is it coming, so why do you get a free copy, other than trying your luck

  14. You sound very rude though imo, I don't get how you can say Orbx want a quick buck when they are not rushing to release, and delayed it, there's plenty of other products recently released for MSFS that should have been delayed for show stopping bugs but haven't. So actually Orbx should be giving credit for delaying release to fix this issue, I think this delay is the first I've noticed for a product in the last couple of years, so Orbx obviously have a good track record of knowing where their products are in the cycle, and with this one it's the same but they found a last minute problem, hey it's software, it happens.

  15. The waiting is insane, ridiculous by now and I find disrespectuful the lack of explanation to the customers Customers that had been supporting Orbx since long and are willing to buy the product at the second it is released. A simple explanation has been requested by several. It is hard to understand if a pro video is made and pro pictures are seen why the product is on hold.? How difficult is just to give an an stauts about it? instead of causing streess and bad mood to the customers for keeping people in the mist. If it is not going to be released SOON, then say it, no problem, but having people waiting with no word about it I find it rude. You've been asked and everybody had been ignored. The day the video was launched I "knew" the product was going to be released around midnight my time (as it usually happens) I stayed up until 2 am and nothing, and yet nothing, and I know nothing. Doesn't look like a fair play in reverse I check everyday and several times a day ! You're making me feel like an idiot now It is necessary?

  16. My apologies, I'm sorry I didn't realise the entire post wasn't aimed at me. (It's been a crap week, with the death of someone very close to me so I'm not thinking straight) Agreed and for what it's worth, I hope OpenLC Asia releases sooner rather than later for you guys...after all we are here for the same reason, we love aviation and flight simulation.

  18. I concur. Having forum access to others’ problems has proven very beneficial over the years …. often creating an awareness of potential problems, such that corrections can be expedited on installation. Access to “Frequently asked Q & A” is not as good. I consider this to be a retrograde step.

  19. I would add that I frequently discovered my issue and its solution by regularly browsing the support forum, before asking. I even discovered several updates non shown by Orbx Central Gérard

  20. I am afraid I have to agree and concur with John and Doug. Over the many years us long time Orbx customers have been on here, in the support forums many of us have assisted others with support, especially when Orbx staff have a lot on their collective plates and they appreciate the extra volunteer help. It is hard to see why Orbx as a company does not want that help any more, and it sure seems like a step in the wrong direction, at least from the long time customer viewpoint. But, what do we matter anyhow. Money seems to be all that matters the most around here any more. I guess I might have to turn in my Orbx fanboy club member card that I have often been accused of carrying all these years I know Orbx has to improve their business model and move along with the times, but that does not mean everything from the past is no longer worthwhile either. Okay, I've said me piece. Cheers! Landon

  27. I fully agree that the support forums should remain open with tickets used for personalized help. BUT I also think that closing them is more in line with the latest thinking by Orbx , which is to basically ignore the old time users (buyers) and concentrate on the new profit streams afforded by MSFS and Xbox.

  29. I agree, I guess it's all about how you read things and draw different conclusions, from the previews, this deffo looks like a great airport and one to pick up Tbh I'd rather have more airports in lesser represented countries than every airport from 2/3 countries. so defiantly, looking forward to LKPR I do get that Tomas, but like I said, DaRadicalCavy did something to deserve it, Orbx can't give free products to everyone

  32. We were planning to release this weekend but unfortunately there’s a last minute showstopper that is being worked on. Generally when an official preview is posted on the forums, it indicates a product in the final stages of release. We are very excited about Prague and also want it released so everyone can enjoy it.

  33. Yup John, this is a little gem of an aircraft purchase. Fun little bird to fly, different options and lots of liveries like you said. Good stuff and great pictures showing her off in action. Also, nice shot showing the scenery, the real life owner of Freedom Fox's personal private home airstrip. Landon

  35. I can support this idea that @EasternT3 has suggested. It is a potential reasonable option. I too agree with others that those posts in the support forum will become outdated. Whenever I have a technical problem, I ALWAYS try searching the forums first. If I can solve my problem by reading someone else's fix for the same issue, than I have saved everyone a bunch of time. I mean, isn't that the standard party line of technical support in the flight sim world...."Have you searched the forums yet before asking for tech support?". We have ALL been told that before I imagine. Well, now, searching the forum will not be such a good suggestion and as time marches on, it will only be a worse suggestion. I have solved more flight sim problems by searching the forums and reading other simmers fixes than I have ever received from asking for actual tech support, either on the Orbx Support forum, or through a support ticket. I have always thought that one of the very BEST standards of Orbx was their Support Forum...a wealth of information can be found there. Now, that wealth of info will start to decay. Landon

  36. So why are they called "support" forums? There are other places to preview products and talk about all things flight sim. I agree with Brad. I've been around here longer than most and if this is what the support forums have become I'll seldom come back. IMNSHO it's a really bad move.......Doug

  37. I did not see this either ; let me get this straight , so us experienced forum member's can't help answer newbie question's ? . Not a good move Orbx IMHO .

  38. We´ve got one cardboard with heaps of paper in it. Sometimes a terrible sound, plus a roaring bear... And we have 4 old chairs as "sacrifice anodes" placed in the flat, that she is allowed to attack. What she does...
