  1. Just after take off of returning the denizens of McCarthy back home to McCarthy. T-Bone says: "Hey Cap'n Karl Y'all realize them passengers of ours are all on a No fly list with them big airlines?" . Me:" Yep T-Bone ah do know that. Just think with out them being on a No fly list we wouldn't have any passengers at all. But we have what them big airlines don't got is our secret weapon also known as Hilda. That sweetie keeps them boys in check"." Ah man "T" I just love what y'all've done with them beer holders on gimbals. No more spilled beer on take off or landing. Although when I spilled my beer into that old throttle control it loosened all that "stickiness" nicely". "Hey Hilda your Cap'n and Co pilot need another beer please, will yer? and what the heck is going on back there?" Hilda comes with the beers and says: "Well Karl them boys found a huge stash of beer and hard stuff in a warehouse. They told them it was the private stash from a guy named Martyn who was here from Australia a couple of years back. Holy sh..inny Karl them boys are already deep in the bag and I better git back to entertain and make them some buns with a good schmear of Fish Haggis". OK enough. Look at the beautiful Orbx Alaska scenery. "T-Bone do I hear right them boys and Hilda singing Waltzing Mathilda? Gosh them boys all sound like the Aussie Airborne." "Y'all got that right Cap'n K must be Martyn's Aussie Moonshine he hid on us when he was here". Chitina, Ak to the left around the corner somewhere. We think. And in the meantime Hilda is doing a perfect Pirouette to the singing of Waltzing Mathilda. However, Hilda's elbow connected with Bubba' bald head with the force of 1600 psi, Bubba who is six foot eight without boots and towers over everybody whether he's standing or sitting down, made Bubba see the entire Milky Way in three most brilliant dimensions. His eyes popped out by three inches and he looks at Hilda and yells: "Ah always knew Y'all loved me my darling Hilda That "love tap" proves it. Oh boy. Chitina behind us. "Hey Hilda how's Bubba?" Hilda yells: "He proposed" . T-Bone says: "He must be del...r, delir.. outta his cotton pick'n mind" (lol yeah I know but he tries). OK Hilda we're just about feet down. Just enough time for the "just before landing beer" and checklist. Now old T-Bone comes back from the party and he is also somewhat impacted by that Aussie moonshine and announces: "Ssscuse boys an gals. We's ssjust about do put the gears down ( hic ssorry). Extinguish your beers and empty yea ashtrays. Thanks for fflying with us. "Ah there is the runway McCarthy in sight. "T hold my Z-gar while I bring her down. Love the gimballed beer holders. Great. Well just in time before the lights go completely out. Lol. And here we are. We all getting out of the plane and I ask: "How is Bubba?" And they tell me look at that everybody is looking at Bubbas back head and I don't believe it. Well I've heard of people seeing images in a piece of Toast, but this is incredible. Well here see for yourself what Hilda's elbow did to Bubbas head. Holy cow. If we would've landed in NZ, the Kiwis would be doing the Hop Scotch behind Bubba singing "Hi ho hi ho, OK mebby not that song exactly, but I'm sure something like it, don't you think? Well that's it. Thanks for coming along with us. Remember if you ever end up on the no fly list give us a call we even give you a free Haggis bun. On a serious note. All passengers are fictional (the real people of McCarthy are real nice and there is hardly any drinking going up there. That's why we don't live there). No airplanes were hurt and hardly any beer was spilled trying to (hic) type this load. Cheers to All of you Captains and happy flying till next time yours truly the Mule Team. k

  3. I have never been in the sim to McCarthy, but I picked it because the flight route passes along lots of glaciers. So it should be interesting. My plane of choice is the new freeware Fouga Magister by Restauravia (see also TTM’s earlier post). If you want her, go get her from this link, boys: http://restauravia.fr/index.html Live weather, and for some reason all water bodies are frozen. Very strange Hard to believe that this is freeware And THIS is my destination??? Oh well, I am low on fuel anyhow What do you mean, you only have diesel fuel available…

  5. That is sad and unfortunate. Maybe one day those German Veterans will get their due respect. I for one appreciate any countries Veterans that I have deployed to the same theater with. They are like bothers and sisters to me

  8. Paris Orly Cloudy-Bright...my favorite MSFS2020 Airport due to the great textures and impressive static aircraft. This is followed by Drzewiecki Design's Moscow Sheremetyevo & Tokyo Narita, Aerosoft's Cologne Bonn and Flightbeam's Denver. [Click] to see the larger picture. Thanks for viewing & commenting, Darryl

  9. You know Ken, every time I meet a Vietnam Veteran, I take time to have a discussion with them. I want them to know, that Veterans from my generation get the appreciation that we get now because of the utter horrible treatment that they received. I want them to know that there are Veterans out there now, my peers, that understand that, and that they, the Vietnam Vets, have our utmost respect. It is very important to me. Landon

  14. Volanta Activities Update Released! It’s with great pleasure that we announce the release of Volanta v1.2 to the community. Since we launched v1.1 back in August, we’ve had over 650,000 more flights, and 1.1 million more hours logged. Thank you all for your continued support. This release marks a major milestone for the development team. We have ensured Volanta is not only feature-rich but still performs well. All while keeping true to our clean design philosophy. GET STARTED WITH PREMIUM Recapping our initial Volanta 1.2 post, here are just a few perks that will change the way you fly: New in Volanta Premium Real-World Schedules - Always struggling to find flights to do? With Volanta v1.2, we’re bringing integrated global-flight schedule data to the game. Simply click on a departure airport and Volanta will visualize all available destinations with many filters to choose from. We’ll even show you terminal & gate assignments! With the Volanta roster, your flying possibilities are now endless. New in Volanta v1.2 Aerocaches - Aerocaches are a global treasure hunt. You’ll be given a clue, and the general area to look in. Discover the floating Volanta symbol and fly through it to capture that Aerocache, dynamically injected into all 3 major simulator platforms. (P3D, X-Plane, MSFS). On your journey you will discover new places you may not have seen before, and learn more about the world we live in. Sharpen your flying and detective skills to find all of the Aerocaches we’ve hidden around the world. Online Network Events - Want to know where you can catch some great controlling on VATSIM or IVAO? Head over to our Events page to see all the online network events in a simple list, visualized on our powerful map. Use the “I’m Going” feature to ensure you never miss another event again, with notifications being sent out 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Lots more time for cockpit preparation checks! Scenery Map - In Volanta v1.2, you can scan supported simulators (MSFS, P3D, XP) and display your installed scenery on the Volanta map. Like most of Volanta, you’ll be able to view your scenery from the web and mobile too. Activities tab - The “Challenges” page has been overhauled and replaced with “Activities”. This page will act as a hub for Volanta-powered experiences. You can discover new places to fly with Aerocaches, find new events on both multiplayer networks and Volanta, as well as searching comprehensive real-world schedules for our premium subscribers - with loads more to come. Volanta Premium includes all free features, plus: Volanta Persistence - Aircraft in the sim don’t have a history - it’s like flying a factory-new aircraft every time. With Volanta Premium’s aircraft persistence (powered by smart autosave), you can load your aircraft exactly where you left it from a previous flight. Retaining aircraft position, fuel, switch states, lever positions, etc. Currently available in FSX, Prepar3D, and MSFS. Not all third-party aircraft may be supported as saving/loading of panel state can differ by aircraft. Note: If an aircraft works with the simulator's default save/load function, it will work with Volanta. Volanta Flight Parties - Part of the fun is sharing your simulation experience with others. Fly with your Volanta friends and easily create your own group flights. Our Flight Parties feature real-time collaborative map drawing and allow Premium members to add up to 10 friends at a time (even non-premium members). Volanta Group Chat - We added an intuitive chat room for all party members to socialize in - especially handy if you’re making new friends within Volanta! Great for passing along flight plans, notes, links, or just general conversation with your friends who still don’t have Discord. Volanta Remote Pause - Need to step away from the sim? Remote Pause allows you to remotely pause FSX, P3D, or XP11 if you can't make it back to the sim in time. Simply log in to fly.volanta.app on any device, including mobile, and hit "pause" on your active flight window. Volanta Time Sync - Time Sync in Volanta Premium ensures FSX and Prepar3D are always in tune with UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). No other external apps. No more time drifts. Letting you focus on what's really important, flying! Volanta AutoSave - Our cloud save and load system gives Premium users the chance to reclaim their flight by clicking one button in Volanta (or loading from the Volanta save manually). You can configure the save interval and prevent saves below 5,000 ft. Currently supported in FSX, P3D, and MSFS. Volanta Screenshots - Premium users can upload unlimited 4K screenshots instead of just 3 standard definition images. Giving you more ways to share your flights with the thriving Volanta community. Saved and accessible anytime, all within Volanta! And more - see our Premium features page for all the details. 25. G´Day Karl, this outstandingly detailed flight report tied me to the screen. I could not stop reading and smiling, and hardly looked at the screenshots... Good to read that Martyn left enough Aussie seeds in Alaska to have a plane singing Waltzing Mat-Hilda. I would love to join such a choir on a flight anywhere.
