  4. Hello joyeuxfouineux , it seems that it is impossible to please everyone. Following your logic, every time there is a sale, all those who had previously purchased the same products at the full price should also be compensated. To follow that practice would result in this and any other company, in any business at all, to very quickly go bankrupt. Then there would be nothing to offer anyone at all.

  12. Even though so many of us seem to be absorbed by the fsxx-hype, I will keep on enjoying my existing system, and share these impressions with you. Regardless if airports are with limited detail, like this one in Calama, northern Chile. For me it is acceptable to have these fields not upgraded in the OLC packs... ... as long as the landscape shows its details. Well, it gets a bit boring down the Chile coast... ... the first different view came up nearly two hours later in the highlands near Santiago. This is the approach into the default SCEL. You can see on the ND that my ATC chose runway 17R for landing, and the disciplined pilot programmed it. But the scenery is on 2006 state, and the new runway not shown... ... so I had to make a manual sidestep. Successful. As successful as finding this local livery for the bus!

  13. Ready for a touristic highlight in Bolivia? Here we go, from Uyuni airport. Please note the altimeter. It was not 2050 ft., just the next level. Camouflage... ... and outstanding perspectives. That lake is named Laguna Colorada. Originally it is red from the algae and sediments. And this one is Laguna Verde. The name suggests another colour as well. ... with the volcano Licancabur just to the south. The usual 3-day roadtrip might end (or start) at San Pedro de Atacama, on the Chile side. But the "airport" looks a bit small for my intended travel plan, so I went on... ... to Calama. Where the adequate bird was already waiting in the background.

  14. For this flight out of La Paz "El Alto" I wanted to use an Airbus (like in regular services), which I did with success. I also wanted a more-or-less local airline from my instalment, so I chose LATAM Brazil. Success. I overlooked that I only had this livery installed on a 321, not the commercially used 320. As a consequence, the runway proved too short for a regular start... Good that this is only a sim. I cheated the plane up over the Altiplano. Lots of volcanos and other peaks around the plain. And gigantic lakes, like the Lago Poopo. But not all lakes could stand the sun. Some turned into salt fields, like the Salar de Uyuni. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salar_de_Uyuni It is the biggest salt flat on Earth, at an elevation of 12000 ft. Following rain, a thin layer of dead calm water transforms the flat into the world's largest mirror, 129 kilometers (80 miles) across. It also forms the worlds biggest Lithium source. In the past decade the Bolivian government turned mining from foreign companies into a domestic-controlled joint venture, leaving a bigger part of the profit in the country. The airport of Uyuni is not present in p3d. But with the help of https://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx/bolivia.html you can get it. [Some of the links there are dead or leading to suspicious websites.] Landing worked, and the place looks fascinating.

  16. Many thanks to Orbx for the kind offer of Courchevel Airport. Unfortunately I don't have any add-on sceneries to enhance this area presently as I usually fly in TE UK so just using the X Plane 11 default scenery. Lined up ready for take-off on the Ski Ramp with the Dornier 228 White Knuckle Ride as Airspeed very slow to build up but made it!! On Final Approach Pulling back hard for the uphill event!! Over the Hump Oh........... @*&$ Regards Nigel.

  17. A "Tale of Two Cities" ... except that they're both Innsbruck!!! Here's Orbx LOWI in XP11.50b14: XP has a really great instant "regenerate weather" function ... Here we are in P3Dv5 (in standard non-E/A mode): I must have spent nearly an hour with Envshade and Reshade, trying to recreate the same colouring and atmosphere as I got (straight away) in XP. I just couldn't do it. P3Dv5 seems to introduce a highly blue-biased band across the middle of the scene - and adds to much red/brown to the rest of the image. Each time I correct the blue, the greens go brown - and vice-versa. I don't remember struggling quite so much in P3D4.5. Ah well .. long live XP and MS2020!! Adam.

  19. At the western border of Arizona and Nevada is the Iconic and mighty Hoover Dam that I visited in June2010 during my holliday-stay in West-US and enroute from Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. Construction of the highway-bridge was at that time ongoing, but the scenic route over the Dam was impressive and of coarse a short stop to look around from the other side. Hereby some different viewpoints while flying in a vintage Beech Staggerwing, airborned from Boulder City airport 61B:

  20. Haha. I love you guys. Thank you for the compliments. Yes Jack, that is Hoover Dam and the sim is P3Dv4.5. So, the product lineup. The departure and arrival are Orbx Boulder City. I'm not sure if Hoover is part of that package or if it's part of SCA. Either way, I have both of those running. The Grand Canyon is freeware from Orbx's very own Holger. It's an older product, but still works well on P3D. You can find it here. https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/68/473. PM me if you need install help, cause Rikoooo is a little quirky. Mixed in otherwise is SCA, OpenLC NA, and Vector. The Vegas Strip and McCarran airport are payware from another third party vendor. PM me if you want those details.

  27. Hi all Just by way of intro, I have been Orbx’s CEO since September 2019, and I am based in Australia. I have not actively participated in the forums so far, limiting myself to reading the diverse and eclectic views of simmers and industry players, but the recent announcement of MS Flight Simulator launch calls for a view on where Orbx sits in all this, so I am breaking the ice. Firstly, at Orbx we are thrilled to see that the new MS Flight Simulator will launch in August. Like the rest of the community, we are very impressed with what we have seen so far in Microsoft's next gen of Flight Simulator. We’ve been waiting for some time for a date to lock down our product roadmap on this new platform. So this is it! I am very happy to say that Orbx is producing content for FS, and are excited to be able to deliver our world class products on this new platform, both through MS marketplace and our own channel, OrbxDirect. Our roadmap continues to include high quality content for XP, P3D and Aerofly FS (when possible), and we will continue to support these platforms. We have some real gems in store, and of course we continue to support our partners and industry friends - specifically this month through #FlyJuly. Overall, we hope to see new users take up simming with the new FS as well as take our current simmers on a journey of discovery, with AAA content! I am keeping this topic open for questions or clarifications. Looking forward to expanding our (collective) horizons! Cheers, Anna
