  1. Welcome to EGCW Welshpool. This is Heiko and Andreas' last UK project, pulled from the back burner and is being finished off by Alex Goff. EGCW Welshpool, or Mid Wales Airport, is a nice little paved strip near the charming village of Welshpool on the River Severn. Features -HD airport -Photoreal area covering the airport, surrounding farmland, village of Welshpool, industrial areas, and quarries. 25cm resolution around the airfield and 60cm resolution elsewhere -POI models for Powis Castle, Christ Church, and St. Mary's Church in Welshpool -Hot air balloon activity This will be compatible with FSX and P3Dv2, v3! Here are a few shots to wet your appetite and there will be more detailed shots of the airport detail and buildings to come soon!

  4. Hello all, Our esteemed Orbx systems administrator and good friend from day zero (pre-Orbx days, VOZ etc) - Jay Kae, has asked me to highlight a donation drive for OZx here - http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/23919-donation-drive-ozx/ As most of you are aware, OZx was born from the initial Orbx freeware team and became an independant organisation when the admin load of looking after so many freeware developers became too much for a very young Orbx company. Since that time (back in 2008 I believe), it has gone on to give countless airports and sceneries to the FS community and has become one of the largest collections of aircraft repaints on the net. Many talented OZx developers such as Tim Harris, Ken Hall, Misha Cajic and more have joined Orbx over the years so it has also acted as a excellent conduit for experienced craftsmen into Orbx. Jay is funding OZx mostly out of his own pocket and needs your support to keep this most worthwhile site running. Since it benefits Orbx indirectly due to all the great Australian and worldwide freeware being compatible with FTX regions, it makes total sense to bring this to your attention. Orbx has donated $500 toward this cause, and you can donate via your FSS account as little as $5 to help Jay minimise his personal costs. Won't you join me in lending a hand where it counts? If you have already donated, a big THANK YOU! Here's the link again - http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/23919-donation-drive-ozx/ Thanks!

  5. Today is the 240th birthday of the United States Mariner Corps. I wish my fellow Marines a happy birthday. The Marine Corps was born in Tun Tavern in Philadelphia on November 10th, 1775. At every Marine Corps base and facility around the world the oldest and youngest Marine present will cut the first slice of the birthday cake. And this evening most Marines around the world will attend the Marine Corps Ball. The Marine Corps is the only military service I know that formally celebrates it's birthday. So once again Happy Birthday Devil Dogs. Noel

  19. Wow, this is a real surprise, I thought ORBX had completely abandoned their UK regions. I love Wales and Scotland and I´ll definitely buy this one just to show my support for those regions. And also because it looks great

  21. JV, thanks for the presentation on this, very well put together. OZx is a remarkable site for the simmers with some very nice freeware addons. The biggest thing I think is used is the photo server which we all seen first hand last month when it went down fro maintenance, man oh man did that create a stir. So I think in return the support that has been given so far is truly remarkable to see how the sim community can pull together to help each other out so that we can continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby we have. Thanks to all and my contribution is in.

  27. Just saw the last of the Triple installers for NA showing up. Though they were not V3 ready, I am greatly appreciative for NOT having to pay an upgrade and to have them on a hard drive. And, for this I am very happy and I know most of your followers are also. It is a big, big world and glad to see the LC packages coming to fruition. As an old fan of GEX and FEX, I have put off buying their upgrades for the anticipation of a pure Orbx world of flying. With all the eye candy in Europe, Oceania, and NA, I have enough to keep me busy. Keeping a copy of both FSX and P3Dv3 on separate drives allow me to be fully engaged in the flightsimming world. Thank you again; just one more of your scenery fans! Kind Regards, Larry

  32. Iain, you might experiment with 4.5 Ghz versus 4.6 Ghz clock speed, I could not see much difference in the sim but it ran a lot cooler at 4.5. Regards Ken

  33. I am lost for words everyone the total now stands at $6500 and running costs are about $6000 so OZx is safe for another year, I do not know what to say other than thank you and be assured, any surplus funds will remain in the Paypal account for the year after. Thank you thank you thank you

  34. Awesome shots Sammy! Appropriate plane to fly the JEDI transition in; I might add - one of my favorite fast movers! I've been meaning to fly the JEDI transition myself in the Superbug for awhile now!

  35. Every morning when the weather is nice I walk a mile in the park. On Wednesdays I always pass a group of New Mexico Army Guard troops getting ready for their weekly run. I wear my 1st Marine Division T-Shirt and give them a rousing 'SEMPER FI!' as I go by. They always return a bunch of 'Ooorahs'. And with that bit of inter-service rivalry let me close with one of my favorite jokes. When given an order to secure a building each service reacts in a different way. The Marines storm the building and sets up a perimeter of defense. The Army posts a guard at each end of the building. The Navy makes sure each door is securely padlocked. The Air Force tries to find the owner of the building and negotiate a 30 year lease. Noel

  40. Hello all, Some folks have asked how to correctly uninstall VECTOR from their PC. The following was posted by Alex Goff and I have added further clarification by the PILOT'S guys: 1. Uncheck these from your scenery library: ORBX!VECTOR_APT ORBX!VECTOR_OBJ ORBX!VECTOR_CVX ORBX!VECTOR_EXX ORBX!VECTOR_AEC* 2. Go to ORBX\FTX_VECTOR\ in your sim's root directory and delete the 5 FTX_VECTOR folders within (FTX_VECTOR_OBJ FTX_VECTOR_APT FTX_VECTOR_CVX FTX_VECTOR_EXX FTX_VECTOR_AEC) 3. Go to ORBX\Scripts and delete FTXConfigurator_VECTOR.exe & VECTOR_lib.cfg 4. Go to ORBX\User Documents\Versions and delete FTX_GLOBAL_VECTOR_PACK.txt *If you can't uncheck the ORBX!VECTOR_AEC folder you'll need to go to your scenery.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX (P3D is located under "Lockheed Martin") , locate it's entry, and change "REQUIRED=TRUE" to "FALSE" NOTE: You don't have to delete the folders if only want to temporarily deactivate VECTOR.
